bb going home clothes
hmm what i heard is that bb must be in NEW clothes when going home from hospital, but at home must wear hand me downs for a healthy n guai bb. old wives tale.

but hor...i rather bb wear something nice all the time :p

If this will really make baby guai guai hor, then what happen if no pass me down clothes? =( I don't know anyone that can give me any pass me down leh! Hopefully it is just another old wives tale!
 
When my #1 discharge, I also let her wear new clothing leh. Never heard before must wear pass down clothes....

Thanks ladies.

Probably need sometimes away to pray for my dh and also to really rest well. Feeling really tired and burnout by the pile of damn shits and messes that I have cleared.

For handme down clothing, it has worked with Kai. The clothes that I have was given to me by a churchfriend who has washed it and passed to me to bring for Kai at the hospital. And at home, we used handme down from friends too and only got those going out clothes new for Kai. So it will be the same for #2, in fact, I am not buying much going out clothes for #2 as bb outgrow very fast.

Regg and Kikilala, will try to go to the atm to do the fund trfrs soon.

just to share, i didn't let #1 wear any hand-me-downs (all her clothes were brand new!) and she was a relatively easy bb... and besides, i dun believe in all these old wives tales! :p

however, #2 will have to wear some of jie-jie's clothes (neutral color ones) since it makes economical sense! don't think he needs nice new clothes in the early months since i can't quite figure out how to go out with an active toddler and a relatively new baby! :p

pris, hang in there - will keep you in my prayers. so far, this is not a very smooth year for me either (work wise, maid issues, money issues, etc etc) so really need to focus and keep HIM in my prayers to tide over the period. sigh... what doesn't break u makes u stronger, don't you agree?

talking abt J&J - they normally have a warehouse sale in dec (in int'l biz park, near IMM) and that's usually when i stock up on the wipes (i buy by cartons) and shampoo etc. at the beginning, wipes used up very fast (1 pack in a couple of days) coz my #1 pooped practically every hour or two! but slowly become once a day so one pack can last a month even!

did a 4D scan in hk...bb lucas didnt co operate this time round though.....legs up and hand blocking his face......told doc i wanna go out jump abit then scan again he said "oki can can i scan for u again after few patients " told him no need la...in a hurry actually

Ya lor .. the last check up, my Ovann was sleeping on the right side of my tummy. Den gynea showed me the left side and said there's still alot of space for him to move around.

Ovann is kicking me .... think he's hungry ...

Hi ladies

Back from Sentosa. Felt like i've been to india instead. So many indians there! And they're so rough, push pp ard etc. Argh.

Siloso Beach Hotel is ok, but the food sucks. Got breakfast & lunch included, but they're so boring and there's plenty of flies & mossies ard. well, at least we're kind of near nature since we saw so many squirrels & a peacock while having our meals there.

Altho there's a nice waterfall/slide at the pool, my boy kind of chickened out. So end up we just floated ard in a tyre tube provided by the hotel. But ok lah, we still enjoyed the time in the pool and the beach just opposite. But coz the beach is next to a club, there's cigarette butts on every inch of the beach.

Not exactly a great place for young kids.

I don't think I wanna go back Sentosa again until perhaps when the universal studios is there. It's so so sorching hot!!!!!

Now i just need another hols to recuperate from this hols. hahaa.

Re: Fisherprice Sale
Went on Thurs morning. Didn't see any jumperoos and rockers then, but we spent like $200+ on toys! The toys are in very good condition with packaging intact and very cheap. They're not old stocks but those that can still be found in toys r us. Checked out one of the toys cost $80 at toys r us, but selling at only $20 at the warehouse sale. Needless to say, we stocked up our storage worth of christmas/birthday presents.

We also bought a fisherprice digital camera at $80 for my boy to learn to take photos. My hb said he saw it selling a $150+ before.

Just got back from week 28 check up. Zachary is slightly heavy again. First measurement was 1263g, 2nd measurement was 1440g. @_@ So his weight is between 1300 - 1400g. I have to cut down on carbo, snacks, sweet incase baby grow too big!

atfirst when my gynae saw my weight drop, she asked if i was on diet! but when she sees baby's weight, she told me not to eat too much carbo, cakes, snacks, sweets ect. right after the check up, i wanted to drink sprite and hubby was like no sprite!!! but i still drank half a cup anyway.

haha yeah, my boy totally absorb whatever I ate. now i am a bit worried! maybe my boy is the type that gets fat easily... waa i dont want my boy to be like daddy and mommy. =( this time i lost 1.2kg but still i am very heavy cos i was already obese before preggie.

I was quite worried my boy is so big cos I might have GD but gynae told me that I don't have to worry because i am not gaining any weight, urine test is ok and no family history. so i suppose there is a risk of GD if baby grow very big and mommy gain lots of weight?

so good that all your food intake went to the baby.

I think 1.3 to 1.4kg is ok lah. My gal also same wt at 29 weeks leh. And my gynae said it's average wt.

I just checked with my friend who used the same CL. Avg 3 bottles. I am going to ask DH to start buying at duty free.

Any recommendation for bb detergent & softener? Got loads of hand me down bb clothes so thot can start washing when free.
 
pink:no need to wash so early la maybe 36 weeks or so...if nto sin weather...humidity will cause them to hv smell....

SL recommended me the laundry detergent and it can be use for bbs

3 bottles... is a lot leh. That time i only use 1 bottle of DOM n 1 bottle of brandy only leh. Think never even finish the whole bottle. If u going to breastfeed, not advisable to take so much liquar leh.

Me back from long MIA. Very busy at work till no time at all for anything except eat sleep and play with no 1.

Just curious, anyone not having confinement lady and catering confimnement food?
 
Reira, i have the same problem of no pass down clothes.. in fact, all the clothes i hv r brand new ones... omg.. stress..

as for breast pumps, i order avent too n hope it will serve me well...

michele, i doubt i will hv confinement lady too and i believe i gonna do my own washing n lots of other household chores as my MIL is not really helpful.. btw, how u preparing ur meals and others?

Brand New Yaolan for sale - comes with spring, hanger and net. Only set up to let baby try but baby just don't like to be in it. Bought the whole set for $120. Selling as a full set at $80 now.

Hi gals,

Yesterday went for my regular chk-up. Baby is 1.3kg at 28 wks and 6 days. And Mummy has gained a whopping 3 kgs from prev visit, now 67.1 kg, have gained 12 kgs so far, since preg-preg wt of 55kg. Gynae asked me to control my weight gain.

My next visit is now closer, 3 weeks from now.
Happy to see my bb in a shorter interval..

no, not catering confinement food - most probably follow the receipes and cook my own. DH said he will cook for me before he goes to work but i doubt it - can't even get him to wake up 5 mins earlier to give me a ride on normal days! :p
