Hi ladies
Long time not being in here.
My birth story:
1. Waterbag burst at 5.30pm on 12 Jul 2009. Can't decide whether I could not control urine or water bag, so after trying kegel exercise, still leaking, decided to head to hospital.
2. No contraction at all even when I was heading to hospital. When to labour ward to let the nurse check, confirm waterbag burst. Done CTG, I was dilating slowly but contractions were very mild,
3. Give my suppository to clear my bowel at 7pm and dh went to admit me.
4. About 8pm, the nurses (or midwives) confirmed with me whether I want epidural. I requested for it as I could heard screaming and shouting along the way to delivery suite at TMC and also gynae, nurses and midwives giving instruction to push,
5. About 8.20pm, anaethsiologist came to administrate the epidural and giving me sodium chloride drip to prevent low bp. I had very mild and small amount of epidural. Nurse Adeline and Imee were with me in the suite while dh went to get a bit. They were telling me jokes throughout.
6. I was dilated about 8cm at 9pm but contraction was still mild and dh was surprised to hear jokes in delivery suite.
7. At 11pm, I was almost fully dilated and contractions were more regular and Dr Wong came. Was told that the membrane that surrounded baby Ray was thick so was told to push it out.
8. At 11.25pm, Dr Wong was telling me and dh, he could see baby's head and it is full of hair. Dr Wong asked dh to take a look.
9. I could feel the contractions but no pain and Dr Wong instructed me to follow my contraction to push. In between, Dr Wong and the nurses continue telling jokes. 3 pushes and Ray arrived into the world through nature vaginal birth. Dh told me, Ray just slided out easily at 11.46pm on 12 Jul 2009.
Overall, a very pleasant birth experience at TMC. Dh commented that it is the 1st time that lots of laughters and jokes been told in delivery suite instead of screaming and crying, I did not even use much of the dosage of epidural given (less than 10%). By 3pm, I was able to walk to the toilet with help and pee.
Thanks Baby S for informing everyone here.
