bobo, agree that insurance very expensive... but no choice as it offers protection for the kids in case of anything...

smurfy, ya I also track my expenses on a spreadsheet. Have been tracking for a while, so now can do yearly total also. Its good, to help figure out where all the money is going.

my colleagues nw oso quite nice de.. cos im in audit team, but im not auditor.. so my salary is like more than half of theirs oni mah... then last time, like when we share gifts for antoher's birthday or smting, they owas collect lesser amt frm me de.. cos they noe i much lesser n hv 2 bbs..... but i dun like it la..n i oso make sure i pay the same amt as everyone. s like, everyone oso working n earning..so y i so special, ppl pay $14 i pay $8?!?


mich:: oh.. u oso tracke expenses? but if like smtimes buy smaller items..use cash or wat.. u all record down? i tink i tried to record.. but cldnt last a week.. bahaha.. cos smtimes small item, cant trace.. den transport expenses..i duno hw much my bus or mrt ride cost de woh.

she likes her coffee very very sweet.. she will add in alot alot of sugar even in 3-in-1s.. so she finished up all the sugar.. n ya, oso went downstairs mama-shop to buy. (n actually the mama-shop downstairs quite overpriced de)...

i track my expenses, every single cent for a few months. now that i am much more conscious of my expediture, i dun track oredi lar. now i onli track cc. statement, every month dun reach more than 2k for my hb whahahhahaa
 
hmmm~ thanks all.. ok.. i try to track expenses... frm Feb onwards (or March?).. cos these 1-2mths sure see red! hahahaha.

liz:: same lor.. i oso dun hv the discipline to track.. plus some small small de.. spend le will forget de.. den after awhile.. like.. difficult n no point to track cos not accurate liao. so give up oso. hehehe.

i tink quite afew plcs hv cheese pineapple tarts.. conceal n tart kind de oso..but mostly conceal de bah. (but den hor..cant rmbr whr now! haha). i personally dun quite like.

i agree with mich, if she finishes the sugar cos she prefers to add more, then its only right for her to pay.

and dont need to feel bad lah... i also only give my mum that amount (excluding the amt needed for her to buy food etc for shayna).. in the fact, the money i give to my mum is only enuf for like household expenses.. dont think she has any left over for herself.

My dad gets even lesser but thats all i can afford. I also only living on $300 month..

my boi was down with fever the week be4 only recover after 4-5days n now down with flu n cough vomitted twice over the wkend.. i am damn tired now... n my Hb jus had a minor surgery so cant help me...

regardin joint a/c hor.. for me i do put aside some savin for my own monthly n only put aside the extras into my joint a/c.. i had the same mindset as bobo wor cos i feel tt it both our responsibilities to contribute not jus his even if he earns more.. cos bb belongs to us not jus his mah... n it does not hurt to have more saving mah... afterall our vacations expenses all come from there.... like wat bobo say every household have their own n preferred way of managin their finance so if u r comfy tt way y not?

i was more into checkin CC wor but my IL plaace no gd 1 leh... chheck out kinderland but the review quite bad wor... i also check out the Cherie hearts at corporation.. not v cheap n LV curriculum is better so end up puuttin my boi at LV but still lookin ard for cheaper n gd CC la..
 
Bobo, ha ha, no lah, it's not tat you are ku ku. Jus that I have experience recording so I know it's not practical to record bus fares daily...

My hb also give my MIL $300 as allowance cos the more we give the more she anyhow spend...
 
Bobo, what i did to track my travelling expenses is to note my travelling fare for a day then just estimate how much i'll need for a month then i'll go top up my ez link car till that amt. (eg need $80 a month and card left 20. I'll go top up another $60. Then i'll see if it can last me a month or not. Then i'll know how much to set aside in future when planning my finances.

hmmm, both hub and i started when we first got our house and we contribut abt 10-15% of our individual salary into the acct...
and we do top up when we get our bonus...

and the $$ goes into financing of car(already paid off) and all the house expenses eg, elect bills etc, PD bills and sch fees(IFC and CC)...

i try to maintain a min of $1k in my own acct(for daily expenses) exclude "save as u earn" acct and UOB acct...

for me i est. the amt i spend on FM, diaper, neccessary monthly n spend within tt amt so it helps me not to overspent... n yes if i become a SAHM i will get my HB to gv allowance to my mum.. i also got intention to be a SAHM but maybe i start off with workin part time first den hopefully within 5yrs i can dun work...

Lucky we dun need to give our parents else sure cannot survive. Anyway they also don't help in taking care
of my kids. They are all independent and earning money so shouldn't be asking money from pp like me who isn't even working. :p so next time, I must make it a point not to take money from my kids unless necc. Dislike those parents who keep asking their financially strapped children for money for frivolous stuff like going hols.

but of cos have to lower $$ expectations...

luckily mine not! both my in-laws working (earning quite abit..) hb oso dun give..smtimes they even help us abit here n there! for my parents, my daddy still working, my mum not (was working p/t kind..n nw helping me with my kids...)... but since long ago (eversince i started work).. i already like make sure i hv this prac to gv my daddy $50 a mth..(hahaha..so little)...n $250 for my mummy (but recently gave her 'increment' to $300) a mth.

sigh.. my parents smtimes owas dun wana take frm me.. cos they noe i owas very 'broke' de.. hahaha...but i'll still make sure i fulfill this part lar... somemore..sometimes we go out family dinr.. my daddy still picking the tap.. so smtimes, if my finances permit, n not too expensive meals.. i will pay lor.

actually my current job here.. the timing quite flexible.. not like anytime can cm/go kind lar.. but like.. smtimes i late..n if my boss leave for the day liao.. i oso 'discharge' myself early. haha. smtimes i do cheat here n there abit (like whn my boss travel to UK).. say i work frm hm.. but.. whr got time to work frm home? lala~ but the ting now is.. my this current boss is quite a grumpy man..unlike my previous boss (whom we're still contacting via email to talk nonsense..), alot of times, owas negative remarks frm him.. like hotel boring..place boring...etc...n he doesnt hv the best r/s with other execs..which smtimes make my job even tougher lor. sigh.

now no need cos got CC mah...and it's full day 7am-7pm...
and i can't possible to get in-laws to walk them to sch or just to find a before & after sch center to let my kids stay there bah...
just dun trust those centers...

one of mayor and MP children attend same pri and same BASC as my son. you may check out if there is any branch near ur place or pri sch that ur child is attending. some BASC is within the sch compound itself.

but hor i think that supervisor left that call center liao...

so maybe just a pt-job at NTUC as a cashier or something bah...
shall see how it goes by then...

ya, like piggy.. i oso dun fancy working over wk'n if the p/t require.. like piggy said, hb not working on wk'n, so prolly other than night time seeing him.. wk'n is the time for a more family bonding time. plus, i would prefer the kids to see more of a 'full' family bonding time, rather than mummy-time or daddy-time. of cos unless like more major work requirements like traveling or wat..den more boh bian. but ya...

but ain't they too young to go over to the center if the center is located outside the school? (will the teachers bring them over to the center or the center's teacher bring them over after sch?)

My friend is a Sahm, no kid. But her hubby I think earn big bucks. Monthly give her 2k and 500 for charity and 400 for her parents.
Is she good life? Haha.. when go vacation, hubby pay. hubby pay if she goes out with hubby. She jst keep her own $$, only use it when she goes out shopping with her friends. She go where hubby also fetch. Wa lau.. so good life where to find.

if the BASC is outside the school, the teachers of the BASC will walk with the children to the pri school. that what my son BASC do. is just walking distance.

my HB nothing serious la piles prob he was admitted on new yr eve den the dr say if can dun cut better den told us to wait end up after 2 wk den say better cut cos now another piles came out... waste our time #%^&*(( so now i gotta take care of 2 boys tired... my maid i seldom bring her home 1 cos co share with my SIL my IL still need her to help with my SIL gal mah..

i can be SAHM but i wan to be 1 no need to worry abt financial 1 so mus wait haha.. so will start off with P/T first... i also hope got opportunity for business but in sg i find not easy to do business...
