Girls, thanks for the input of opinion and advice, I (finally) ordered from WOK, cos SSW dun hv the FP Little People. I selected this cos K has couple of little ppl books.. hb kept saying not to stress over the few $$ and the dimension, so I use my carpet as the guide, if I take my fav Jurassic Sealand, then the longer side will be over flowing out of the carpet.. Ok, one task down many more to go..
 


You are welcome, Kim, Lamagier and other mummies who went today. Yeah, I think they created the mess for themselves. I told them that 28 Mar was a preferred date for my list of parents, and I think if they just moved the other age groups to the other session it would have been more favorable turnout for them, at least in impressing more parents. They probably thought they could kill 2 birds with 1 stone of getting participation from 2 age groups, lol their preview didn't follow their operations policy.

Anyways, I'm not sure I went away impressed with the energy of the staff, might probably work with sleepy students, but they will lose the attention of the more energetic children. They got less energy than KM and Gymboree, and even less entertaining for me than BabyBreeze. I'm skeptical of following the program thru to if it's a mixture of flashcards concept and playing out the theme. I suppose they want to mold children into learning the keyboard (which kid doesn't like banging the keyboard) and teaching skills like sight reading etc, but not sure if offers enough exposure to music, instruments and appreciation in general.

Sigh, HBB, how ar?? I still like Staccato more in this sense leh.

u know.. tis 2 weekend i so freaking happy cos no swim class. i super energetic.. so i freak out of i got 1 more class on weekend i will cry.. but weekdays i cant send her to stacatto cos too far! how?? sobz
btw base on 'insider' news.. heard fr somebody at stacatto tat they agree the teacher r still green.. so mayb i shld hold on for a while more let them gain more experience 1st? LOL
 
Sam, I totally agree with you about their back-fired plan.. As I discuss this with hb, I think I am pretty much doing what they are doing except I dun hv flash cards on music notes, I only hv limited songs to sing and "play" with K. I want to buy the egg shaker, anyone know where I can get those?

Btw, u rmbr about the sms on the Similac? Did u buy any? I got 3, a cd on left brain and 2 dvds.. Kept wanting to tell u but never get a chance to.

lol, same, I'll cry if I gotta cab there every week besides having a pain getting out the door. I find that it's getting tougher and tougher for me to get ready out of the house. I lost my obedient and patient girl, she's like me!-me!-me!, especially when I need to get ready. She's such a nice baby when she can't get anywhere, but sit and wait for mummy.

In that case, wait for Staccato to establish themselves. dh not too keen on music either, he prefers sports, still dreaming of giving her golf lessons, and caddying for her. BTW, I just realised J is faking her reluctance to be dunked. I dunked her a few times in the pool today, and she was okay. dh says it's me. lol, Sharon better don't know this, cos she asked me when mummies are going down with the babies question.
 
aiyo edna is also like this ok! she will me all the way nowadays!!!! and u know.. her JG class is 11am! her feed time is 9am! and i take mrt down town!! if i am on time.. its a miracle(trying hard to b on time lor)

oh edna seems ok w being dunk now.. but we fig out WHY she alwasy cry when she is on er back int he water.. my dh feel its becos of the glaring sun!!!! cos we had a evening lesson 2 weeks back and she din cry on her back!!!
and yes sharon did ask mi when is mummy gg down tthe pool... haa but hor i hate it lar partly cos i scare of eczema then also bathing is ma fan leh! LOL

oh ya the golfing lesson... pls let mi knwo if u got good lobang for the kids set.. likely buy her a 2nd hand golf set.. ok i know its too early! hahahahaaa but like u im lookin forward... but not caddyin for her,, more like vice versa LOL

I didn't get Similac cos I haven't been giving J Similac for a long time. Were the dvds any good? The baby einstein dvds are semi-retired already, cos she rather watch Dora or Ni Hao Kai Lan these days.

lol, maybe I'll try it someday, go down with her, I get wet anyways picking her up from the pool and bathing her, quite killjoy when I wanted to be dry. Yeah, I'm scared of my ezcema too, it comes and goes these days, don't know why, have to refrain from seafood which I love some more.

If dh sees a lobang for a set, I'll let you know, but he don't want to buy too early yet since clubs tech update almost yearly. I don't know if it's the same for kid sets, but I still love a burner set lor, so cute in red.

Sam, I hv yet to play them, but u can borrow frm library, its the IQ baby series. diff is these disks has SIMILAC printed and sated not-for-sale. I got the colors and animals I think. The CD is left brain.

K also show no interest on BBE, except still can sit and watch a short time of puppet shows.. He is interested in big kids TV and our TV (can;t say adult or u may thing we watch those XXX).

With this kind of attachment, besides difficult to get ready, does you bb cry when being taken away? Today (Sunday), is the first time he cried when I passed my to the Sunday school volunteer. I am surely more determined to give him to bb sitter more often.

mine will too. nowadays she's really like sticker on me. cannot shake off AT ALL. She demands me to be beside her all the time. Even if i walk away but still within her sight. It's NO NO to her. Anyone who carries her is a NO NO too

Glad K likes it. he's a very bright boy =) MR took the whole nite and still only interested in chewing on the toy rather than trying to get sounds out of it...
 
hbb, if i go market buy red snapper, i need to buy the whole fish? or can ask for a slice portion huh?
hehe...never buy this fish before. everytime only buy threadfin or cod.

Same here. Mine also very super glue. very greedy! want mummy and daddy to accompany her. Yesterday she master to open the drawer and she one by one took out my stuffs, snatch back from her, she shout and cry. *Shake Head*

i understand that this type of fish has a high tendency to be unfresh. meaning, the meat when cooked becomes very tough. how to choose?

dun know leh.. i buy a couple of times (both fr supermarket as well as market). most of the time, end up with the meat so tough like rubber.

buy those fresh ones... not so salty. sometimes cold storage do hv.

how's edna's cold?

nevermind, will buy again n try over the weekend.
the fresh ones ok leh... soak in water for a while before cooking. so far i find it ok.

now is amanda's nose to start running.

weather is bad nowadays either v hot or v cold. hope amanda runny nose goes away soon... actualy i got a splitting headache now. I v scare i fall sick becos tomolo is sch day again arghh... im so tired tat i actually made a cup of hot tea for myself to perk mi up!

I beene alwasy saying -ve thg bout edna.. hardly praised her in front of my friends (if most of the mummies who knows me noticed) alwasy complaining she is fussy n etc etc..
Kim n FOZ been telling me to say nivce thg bout her LOL and then recently boss's wife who also read the same parenting book as me told me she find it weird tat despite edna is a routine baby yet she still cry so much. and she feel it could probably be due to my words.(she claimed words hav power since she is a christian) I duno if its true anot so im gg to try to PRAISE edna now and claim she is a GD girl... so if u girls ever hear me say so of my girl.. pls dun puke hor hahahaaaa

hopefully w my praises she will cry lesser LOL
 
Think MR starting to teeth again. Been drooling buckets and woke so many times last time that I got fed up and scold her...
Had to keep reminding myself she's probably teething and uncomforatable, not deliberately making my life miserable... And her daddy still sleeping like a log... sigh.

And her daddy had a flat tyre this morning. We handled it pretty well. no panicking, cursing or swearing. Just very resigned, informed my boss & aunt, husband changed the first flat tyre of his life, sent MR to my aunt's and we all arrived at work an hour late

Edna turns 9 mth today... no sign of the pearlies erupting thou can see the slight bumps for weeks!

She's not that fast prob average bah, think a bunch of babies her already got all their 2 front teeth and more. The Hokkien saying "7 mnth sit, 8th mnth crawl, 9th mnth teeth" I hope it's more pearlies that's causing her to fuss and not anything else!

By the way, can use your finger to feel her gums to confirm. i started to feel sharp 'pokey' tooth about 4 days before the tip of her tooth made an appearance

my gal's 2 upper teeth have cut thru and they are so big. Kinda ugly. Just like my boy's! must hv inherit from me. was hoping hers wont be so big.

we used to tink xavier's teeth were HUGE.. but later on as he grows.. the face n head also grow bigger..teeth seems to shrink LOL

My colleague told me Similac called her & told her abt the DVD, i asked how come they din call me, and she said that's coz her hubby called up Similac to "complain", abt the high prices & no free gifts. LOLz!

Re: teething
I find shanna's subsequent teething nt as bad as the 1st, not so cranky, but the growth of the upper tooth is reallie sloooooow. Saw them on 3rd mar, up till now still little bit only! And Bbethan, i also find shanna's upper tooth big! LOL!

U shld reallie praise edna lor, she's reallie a gooooooooooooooooood girl! I think i shld start praising mine too... wahahahaha... she is just so notti EVERY NIGHT!

Ytd i started to teach her the "twinkle twinkle lil star" action, & when i sing the song, she does the action! But ltr in the night, i realised she doesn't do that just for Twinkle Twinkle Lil' Star, she does it for any other songs... faint...
 
teething - i almost punch my maid in the face at 1am last night when i saw her patting my bb's back very hard trying to get her to sleep. cos bb teething and cant sleep at night. bb and me came down with fever, think its more than teething, cld be viral fever. anyway, the thing abt maid is that you never know what she's up to if youre not lookg. geesh. so i told her this morning not to do it and she give me black face. kns. i ask her why she so black face, then said is it cos she not enough sleep. she said yes and i give her benefit of doubt and tell her to take pm nap. geesh....

so far, she's only taken the beef stock but not the meat direct yet.
i started her with 1 porridge for lunch. now she's on cereal for breakfast n porridge for lunch & dinner.
 
my mum feeds my boy with whatever fish she has, vegie, si shen powder, sometimes pumpkin. After 4 consecutive of this combination for lunch & dinner, my boy got sick of it. Now my mum decided to introduce a bit of variety by substituting fish with frog leg on alternate days.
My in laws and parents are old school people who dont believe in praising kids 'cos they believe kids will behave in opposite manner. So my boy has always been called "Notti boy" since Day 1. No one praises him.

I cooked red snapper 3 days in a row for lunch. I put the fish into the pot when porridge is almost done. Took about 5-8min till fully cooked. While cooking I mashed up the flesh. Is very soft leh. Maybe you can try put in the fish when porridge is almost ready?

XY has taken bits of beef before hahaha when I was eating beef steak sandwich at TCC. Wrong demo but also considered sort of "started' right?
for the past few days I did porridge for lunch and cereal for dinner cuz evening time lazy to cook.

bestberries, sorry to hear about that. But you are very nice to suggest the maid to take pm nap. Maybe after the nap she gets better mood and won't give you black face again

RE: Praising the kid
I do that very very often. Um.. a bit zi lian la but then nv throw tantrums, open mouth to eat, finish milk all these is good behaviour to me so I say it. I not only praise XY. I even praise the porridge (tastes good), the spoon (saying that spoon is XY's fren and vice versa so that she opens her mouth when spoon comes near eventhough doesn't work very much hehehe), aiya praise anything and everything la.

i fed my gal red snapper before.. also thread fin (the usual), sea bass (those big size ones, onced cooked its soft and sweet)

Basically I got to the fish monger aunty. ask her "this ok for baby porridge? "Low2 gor4 (tough) or not? " she will advise accordingly.. and she'll pull out the big bones for me so its easy for me to cut up and pack.

Hbb, yes yes yes, praising is a form of encouragement to keep up the good manners. I tend to say things like 'good job! and sometimes end with 'let's try again!' if I like baby to keep trying and improve/refine his skills.

same for fresh chicken.. cos the uncle will chop and skin it for me the anyway i want it.. keke..

for veg and other good i still shop at supermarket loh .
