NOt sure if I read wrongly. U are drinking the papaya fish soup now? Won't get too full at the breast area? I remember when I was in hospital after delivering #1, my mum made and my milk came in the next day, for the coming week, my milk supply was actually quite good. Very effective. So thinking, if drink now, will cause breast to start supplying now?

2nd time mummies who just weaned off breastfeeding, do u get any watery stuff coming out from the breast when you squeeze yr breast? That day, I feel my breast getting very full. Squeeze the nipple n actually see a bit of fluid coming out.

Huh... this morning was feeling very pissed with the people i met.

1) Got down the bus... then this guy was behind me and almost knocked into me. I just got down and was moving aside. Probably I was a bit slow and he gives a very loud "tsk" as if i blocked him. He was rushing to get down and dash across the road to beat the red light. So angry with him for slightly knocking into me and tsk-ing me. Somemore, when he got over the other side, he still has the cheek to turn around and look at me. At that point, i wanted to curse him for rushing across the road.

2) Then on the train, it was crowded. As usual, no one gives up the seat. Then this lady who's sitting at the priority seat is alighting. Another lady who was standing beside me was kind to tell me there's a seat there and asked me to sit down. But guess what, the old lady who sat beside the woman who's alighting suddenly woke up from her sleep and chop the place with her body and bag. Then she shouted across me to a little girl abt 8-9yrs old to come and sit down. She saw me and refused to let me sit. Then the little girl also a bit paiseh to sit cos she saw me. But her mother who was standing beside her says "Go... quick go and sit". Haiz... i let her have the seat instead. Then can see the little girl telling her grandma that i was standing. Guess what the grandma said.... "it's ok de... you sit down". Then at the station when i'm goign to alight, another seat beside her was empty. That's when she wave to me and ask me to sit down. Haiz... how come got this kind of mother and grandmother?

most soup are v easy to cook one... jus need to simplify certain steps
for this soup.. the sian part is the pan fry of the fish bones/meat... make my stove oily!! haa else i love it to bits...

milk wun come now as our body is in tune w mother nature.. it onli comes after we deliver i heard.

Is it too early to drink papaya soup since we are only in our 2nd trimster? Yr recipe looks easy and tasty... I also wana try to make my own papaya soup.

My gal was slping comfotably in my stomach till late morning or early noon today. Then, she started being active. I always love her kicks. Today, i can even see her waves on my stomach. she seems to be doing somersault inside.

i see... i thought u already start drinking now. Agree with u... it's the frying of the fish part that's so troublesome. If not, i love the soup. For me, i'm not sure if i still have a bit of milk from #1 cos i got preg again 1-2 mths later i stop bf #1. Prob will start drinking 1 wk before I'm due. Find it rather "potent"... hehe
 
oh if u jus stop bf hor.. u might get a bit of soreness rite?
some ppl skip the fryign part.. en dup gt a fishy smell so i told dh diedie must pan fry haaa

I first time doin this soup so another stupid qns hor.. after fry the fish jst add water in the same wok that you fry the fish with or take out the fish and add water to boil with the papaya in another pot??? Think i also start in the last trimester scared no milk so mst kanchiong abit..

Anyone know for a start is 2x5oz and 2x10oz milk bottle enuf or do i need to get more?

Yah, I'm very annoyed when it comes to inconsiderate mrt commuters. I have till now still yet to be offered a seat on the mrt. Always the same, avoid eye contact, pretend to sleep or fiddle with their electronic gadgets.(*sob sob*) PM Lee needs to go review his Courtesy campaign thing seriously. And today in Straits Time forum there's a letter about an elderly lady got who got assulted by a teenager when they both rushed for the same seat..

yes... it's very sad to see how they behave especially the younger generation. Luckily for me, i've encountered a few good ones. there are also kind souls(whom i think they were once preggy before) who often help me chop a seat while someone gets up n i move in, even offer me to stand near the door where i can lean against. there's once when a lady even asked a nsman playing PS sitting at the priority seat to give up to me.

BabyEthan, sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience on the train, sigh...well, what goes around comes around...most women who have been pregnant are generally very understanding and considerate since they have been through it themselves.

Anyway I am getting excited, counting down to MOVING day this Sat. Can't wait to get out of my current place which is so old and has drips and what-nots. Phew! Wish me luck...Oh and I am on leave tomorrow so planning a trip to the zoo with my family. Anyone keen to join us?

beverly - yup i bought 2 cots. my sil giving me 1. so i have 3. but i stay in 3 storey house so technically need 4 or 6. i'm sticking with 2 first. for 1st few months you can put 2 babies in 1 cot. was thinking of doing that with my free cot until i bought my own

my colleagues and frens asking me to take in more fishy items nw. not sure wad isit for. but they sae is for the eyes and brain of the baby. and after gifing birth is for the breast milk. not sure hw true. but i hate papaya leh. never taken before in my whole life =x

i hardly take MRT as i know surely very crowded and sometimes is so crowded that can squash u up. hence dun even need to mention abt gifing up seats. but so far the few times i take someone did gif up the seats to me. but like wad my colleagues say, when we're pregnant, then we will see the ugly communters. she said that when she is 6months preggie with no.2 and brought her no.1 out alone. her no.1 insist to be carried and she have to and with her big tummy, carrying no.1 standing in the train, yet none gaf up the seats to her.
 
oredi in my 21st weeks...
till now still no one give seat to me in MRT. My bump really that small till me not looking like preggy?!!! But I always get a seat in bus. No matter how, I make sure I get a seat in bus, you know the bus driver likes to emergency break.

thanks! I hv been to the new children's area tons of time and still love it, prob as much as my little one does! I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow...today is such a wet day.

As for moving, I am hiring movers from Breakthrough (they are very good) so just supervising lah, don't worry but thank you for your concern, so sweet of you.

To increase breast milk production, I took Fernugreek, a herbal supplement, for my first child and it worked. You can see the production increased significantly, mine did by at least 30%. Fernugreek is easily available in tablet form at all drug stores such as Watson's, Guardian and Unity.

well i thought that the eyes and brain development was in the first tri that is why folic acid was needed.... for more milk ya i heard that...

actualy its quite true we need eat fish now for the baby too (as well as milk in future)... the fish oil fr fish is good for brain n eyes. that why gynae give us those nerogain oil n such

dun tink folic acid is for brain.. that is more for the spinal developement

in the pregnancy bible it states brain and eyes development start from 22nd week that's why we take fish oil.
folic acid is earlier stage for brain and backbone build...correct me if i am wrong.
 
I had papaya soup once during confinement of my #1.. end up engorgement the next few days.. haha

dunno if i should start drinking early too :p
 
Loshita, u r rite the folic acid is for brain and backbone build. But you can continue to take the folic acid until deliver.

Yah, I went for the MediaCorp bb seminar last month and one of the speaker a gynae from GlenE. Said fish oil (all the DHA etc) supposed to aid brain developement, but not really 100% confirmed. He said he always prescribe to his patients since no harm =) and patients want cos MTBs don't want to miss out on anything that's potentially good for bb.

Iron is supposed to be important too. My gynae did say some medical journals show lack of iron can affect bb mental developement, but not enough studies done on it yet.


re: Public transport
I have come across a caucasian lady with one arm in a cast and one arm carrying her toddler in a bus in Italy. Nobody offered her a seat except me. Haha, so inconsiderate commuters not only restricter to Spore. But with all the talk on gracious society and all the better education the younger generation is supposed to receive, one would expect to Spore commuters to be more considerate and gracious.
 
my gynae always wants to pour me information but i lazy to listen to her, at early stage have ms, no mood to listen...then she always turn to my hubby.

Im so fed up today coz of this nanny who has promised to look after my baby after my confinement.. I told her that i be giving her a reply this week and giving her a deposit is not a problem, then before I know it she emailed me today she took deposit from another person!!! Gosh, is there no integrity in businesses today??? All about who gives deposit first?? Now my nanny hunting starts again.... Sorry ladies, just need to vent out...

I stay in Yew Tew area so not easy to find a good nanny.. I mst say this nanny was quite good in terms of she is only taking care of 1 baby at a time with no other children.. Not easy to find such a nanny now...

She stay in BPP.. but im ok with tat coz its near to yew tee.. haiz... start from zero again.. Think yew tee area be full of our leaflet askin for nanny service.. both of us edd around the same time... wahahahahahahha
 
Hi all,

I'm having July baby boy too.... need some advice. Last week I weighed myself, I was abt 48.4kg.... but yesterday i weighed myself... my weight was 47.9kg. Now i do still feel my baby's heartbeat....but doesn't feel much baby's movement nowadays. Is my weight acceptable? Afraid that my baby isn't growing....

hahas! yea. mayb u put leaflet or i put then those who contact us can share share information? LOL. i didnt see any leaflet around my area for nanny thou. mayb i should start? bcos i quite scared to put my no. out jus like tat. sigh. tsk tsk. wad should i do.

sometimes the weigh may differ from wad time u weigh urself and when u weigh urself. jus like when i wake up in the morning my tummy is small, but at the end of the day my tummy will be bigger

if ur gynae says everything is well wif u and baby, then should b no problem.
