Hi mummies,
Thanks for replying. It is indeed very tiring, and even at nights. Cos nowadays, my son wakes up often at night crying. I also frequent the toilet more at nights too. Hopefully my son will be more independent too. I may enroll him in childcare cos no way i will stop working.
But recently somethng has been bogging me. Knowing my boss, he will make things difficult for me if he knows bout my condition, but i think i have to tell him soon as tummy getting day by day especially it is my second. I am wondering if he sacked me, what compensation i will have.

I dun really have a prominent jaw line actually, run in the family and with the weight increase, it's going to look like double chin when i laff and soon hb will comment that the jaw line hv fuse into the neck! haha.. The weight seems to have put on at the tummy area and face so the rest is not too obvious yet.. tummy look like excess fat rather than preggy..those colleagues that are aware of my preggy did manage to notice the small bump..
Actually there is a premium bus that run at my area (BP) to Fullerton but dunno if i can wake up in time to catch it a not.. been reluctant to wake up nowadays.. and reporting work later and later..sigh..
Never really talk to the bb yet but keep rubbing the tummy to give some "comfort".

It depends on your level. If you're executive level & above, you're not protected by the MOM laws. There was a lady in the news last yr who was preg when she was sacked, but coz she's not protected by the laws, she has to kaki sue the company for her maternity benefits.

Yah, i'm taking care of my #1 without any help. Intending to have #2 without help after confinement too.
How i cope? hmm, with 1, it's quite easy actually. Just make sure there's a routine for the child. WHen my boy was abt 18 mths, i started registering him for gym classes and went for some trial classes. He loved gym most, so I stuck with that till he was 2yrs old when i enrolled him in a 3hr daily playgroup (without me of course!).
By the time my #2 comes, I will put him on school bus to send him to school so that I'll have some time at home with #2 in the morning. Then in the afternoon, will have lunch with him, then his nap. Evening time will have kiddy playtime. Maybe will call for tingkat if cannot manage the cooking dinner part.
U may wanna consider sending your #1 to school too. There's some schools which accept children 18mths and above. My boy's playgroup at Kinderland did. It's just 3hrs daily, but will give u some precious time.

Mashy, really? I think I better call MOM and ask them. I'm in manufacturing company, very unstable now. A lot of rumour going on, say will have huge retrenchment after Chinese New Year.

I wore form fitting shirt today, then realize tummy actually can't see anything at all... Before worried about looking fat, now worried how come my bump so small, baybay ok or not... Sigh... I'm a big bag of contradictions

I by sheer luck manage to get the opportunity to switch from manufacturing to petrochemicals about 1.5 years back. I can understand, after work in 1 line for sometime, very hard to put the technical skills to use in another line. Before that i got try to switch, but hard to get out... especially wehn market not doing well.

thanks lamagier, in the end i didn't have salad, have thai noodle, but now feel heartburn cos i ate too much chilli. hehehehehe.
i think with #1, no matter how old they are, will still be a different challenge for us and require our attention. same like mashy, i also have no helper with #1, and thinking of confinement lady for #2, i'll give myself time to see if i can cope before hiring a maid.

i bought those loose loose empire cut tops. They're like everywhere now. That should be able to last till abt 7mths.

yah, u'll definitely need patience, lots of it. And plenty of energy too. Coz need to play with them etc. I lost 5kg in 3 mths after i became SAHM.
Actually u'll also need to live with lesser. Not so much shopping, buying things on sale etc.

Is kinderland gd? whish branch is yr boy gg to now? My boy is currently in GUG attending 3.5 hrs of nursery classes. I am thinking of switching sch for my no 1. bt will do it after my confinement...cnt cnfirm on who to take care of my 2 kids after my ML. May consider childcare option for #1 as well.

I heard it depends on the branch. We went to YCK Kinderland. It's ok, i think it's gd enough for a young child. They've their own classroom, a huge playground and don't mix with other children from other classes. They're also very strict with checks, so every morning, will monitor temp and check hands and mouth. My main purpose was for him to socialise more than anything else.

me! me! me! too my boy has suddendly started the habit to wake at 4 am for his morning milk feeds! and only will agree to sleep only if i am in the room! (due to developmental growth?) he is not yet a yr old though will be at the end of feb.
sob sob will have to wait another 3 months after my confinement before my boy is even old enough to enter child care. planning to put no.1 in child care as i cant imagine how i will be able to handle 2 at the same time.

yeah, another name is Oscar scan.. it has to be done before Week 14, otherwise the fluid will be absorbed by the baby and not able to detect for down syndrome. I have my scan each time I see my gynae as well, but this is a detail one. The next one will be during the 5th month one, to check on the structure as well as the gender.

hey if go thyme maternity at taka must wait for the 10% sale, more worth it, hehehehe. i got 2 jeans from there a while ago, no need alteration, the length just nice. and compared to my old maternity jeans, the new ones are very good cos got pockets like normal jeans, my older maternity jeans (from #1) are more like tights, only pockets behind, no pockets in front so must wear long long tshirt to cover the front.

Thus I've decided to send my gal to the better of the 3 CC near my place instead..
Yesterday was playing with my frd's son who's K2.. realised that he can't read by himself.. I was kinda worried for him.. then tot abt my gal turning 2.. I think i should slowly teach her to read + cultivate my Lil one in me on reading books.. haha
Anyway by how old should a child be able to read simple story books on their own?

I was down with flu and cough for 2 weeks.. during that time, I was so worried if baby is ok as well..
You should rest, ie Sleep. I slept alot during those two weeks and it will recover faster.. and try not to eat those food that will aggrevate the cough.. take care!

My nephew is 2.5, still can't read too. But very good at remembering pictures. Can link correct picture to the related words. My sister says kids so young can remember pictures as a whole but not details. So now teach him like "A" associated with picture of an apple, but not teach him how to spell apple....

sunsweet, when my daughter is 2, i bought her the peter and jane book and read to her, the 1A and 1B, surprisingly she started with this book and able to read the book after a while. so i thought she memorizing the words or pages, one day my hubby skip pages, but she can read the words, he was impressed.
there is 2 school of reading, the phonics way or the sight reading way. in most school, they learn phonics. but when u read to them often, they pick up the sight reading way. i only know all these when my daughter went for assessment for a k2 english class, and i realized she is so so in phonics, but better in sight reading. so mommies out there, no harm reading to ur kids, make it a habit to tell bedtime stories, for me, my rule is 2 year old 2 stories, 3 year old 3 stories, if not it's never ending hahahahaha.

my gal can identify 80% of the pictures in a 2000 word picture dictonary at about 13-15 months old cos i've been showing that to her since about 1YO..
but now i was wondering if i can introduce them Letters and their association..

my boy sch is teaching phonics and he loves it. i agree w the mummies here, we should read to our young children often. my boy loves books. he wants me to read so many to him at a go. mbe, i shld learn from coolkero, 2 year old 2 stories and 3 year old 3 stories.... i feel so tired after reading to him. coz he want many many books n keep asking me, "mummy, why why why?" haha!
