asura,
yah lor. heng I saw the family plans in time. But mine is basic so covers $250k only.
Besides my AIA agent kept stressing me to say that I die die must start a plan 7 days before I travel which was that very day we spoke, so I was almost tempted to just take whatever she proposed. Yah the annual family plan is cheaper for us esp since we would most likely travel sometime mid of next year again. Either to Seoul/Tokyo or to Perth. So this would cover all our trips. And I won;t even have to call them. Btw, for your info, HSBC's annual family plan is $620 for the basic plan. Pretty good too. I took Ace as it is only $550 and their coverage is better than that of HSBC and even AIA's. AIA's annual family plan starts from "superior" level, not basic.
Yah thanks for your tips and encouragement. I travel Northwest before to US and find their service ok. Besides, this trip back on NW will cover my shortfall in NW miles for our next trip to seoul/tokyo hahaha. Was almost going to book a UA flight back (cheapest) until I remembered your post. Told my hubby about what happened to you and he was shocked too.
