hoho03: mamy poko is good n cutting is fine in 'm' size...i find nepia 'm' too big for my boy now so will keep my nepia...wat i like abt nepia is e urine indicator..hehe...u wont regret buying MP..

neocaitou: yr yl situation exactly same as mine...i can only carry my boy to e bed ard 4-5am...sometimes 8am...depending whether he has fell deep into slp or nt...its only after e 4am tat he is able to slp thru till 12 or 1pm...

pinkdemon - i used S b4... i bought 2packs last time frm IDA.. =P hahaha. find it not bad but cutting a bit small... i think all the diapers ive used creates marking on Kirsten's thigh... it goes away so im nt too bothered by it... =)

Kris - ok ok... where does she live ah? i can actually go n collect mine if its nt too far frm the train stn... nw my side has the circle line... so i can take circle line and change to NEL... or if u wan me meet up with u as well... but only next week ba... becos next week im still half day... heh heh heh.. after that back to normal working hours... =(

caitou - u might wan to try to adjust his sleeping timing... for Kirsten, when i look after her, she will get up ard 8am to drink milk... then go back to sleep... then 10+ will bathe her and feed her.. then play with her... or leave her to play on her own on the playgym... then feed ard 2+... play & talk... sometimes she will sleep.. but nwadays she will talk n play n bat at her toys... lol... play play play... then feed ard 5... then play play play... or sleep.... then ard 7+ will give her another bath... then feed ard 8plus... then talk talk... or let her sleep... usually last feed is between 10pm-12mn.... then wakes up btwn 3-5 for 1 feed.... if nt wil slp thru til 8am... she has more or less settled into a routine *cross fingers* in fact, she has started sleeping thru the night... the night b4, she slept from 10-8! so elated!!! lol! wonder if will continue or not.. hurhurhur...

actually babies can be quite adaptable... after 1week of "training" they can more or less get used to a new routine... but must tolerate their crankiness for the time being... =P

miss83 - kirsten is still drinking 120mls.. sometimes she doesnt finish her milk as well.. and sometimes she wans more! she just turned 3mths on the 10th... anyway, im tryin to increase her milk... u cn try to top up 10mls more... but if bb fusses then dont force... if i force kirsten, she wil throw up... =( slowly bah... anyway if they wan more they wil cry for it.. heh heh heh
 
pinkdemon - u might wan to consider using EQ... but of cos day time use bah... i bought 1 pack to try frm Sheng siong 2wks ago... its nt too bad... it also has indicator.. but the indicator is the pictures on the diapers... it will fade away when diaper is wet... plus its cheaper than nepia... i bought it $10.50 if im nt wrong... come with 1 free pack of baby wipes... =P the cutting is nt small... the pattern a bit like nepia and ntuc diapers...
 
missycandy, yes just email them and they will give u the e-form, very easy. so far bb on fitti no cuts on thighs, so i'm happy to let him continue using it :p

Question, my cousin in medan just delivered 1.7kg preemie, currently in incubator, is there anything for her to take note of? i told her to try giving breastmilk, dunno what else to advise leh...
 
missycandy: think i temporary no need to buy diapers le...hv 4 pkts of huggies ultra, 1pkt of nepia, 1pkt of pureen dry 5, i pkt of fitti n 1/2 pkt of MP all 'm' size...think finish first..will consider EQ...but really scared of leakage but i normally will change after 4 hours..tks anyway...

starflower: think bcos bb keenan has small thighs ba...

re:milk quantity
my boy drinking 125ml(w/o) powder so after adding abt 140ml every 3-4hrs since few weeks back...havent increase yet cos sometimes he will leave abt 10-20ml unfinished...
 
koala: i m staying at punggol. will be sending my son to the qdees infant care. and yes, this is my 1st child. i also have lotsa questions and doubts in my mind. however, my hubby reassures me that the teachers there will know how to take care. even if he cries, they will not let him cry too long as it might affect or disturb the other babies and children. anyway, it is good to let our babies cry once in a while to build up their lungs. :)

pinkdemoness: actually my son always gets into deep sleep at night. thinking of using your method, i.e. to yao him to sleep then place him on mattress. but will wait for him to be able to sleep thru the night then try. else i won't be able to get my sleep too! i also want to observe how he is adapting to infantcare before trying. another way is to wait till he outgrows the YL, which might take 1 to 2 years!

missycandy: aiyo! i tried to adjust his sleeping timing. but he always gets super tired and cranky in the early evening. if i dun put him to sleep, he will become a mini terror! haha! i am sure that he will be able to sleep thru the night if he can sleep later. but i really duno wat to do! really envy u though. haha... my son always wants someone to play with him. else he will make those bored sounds. haha!

Oh... did u try ignoring her until she is hungry? Cos there was a point where my bb cries just wearing a bib. So i would just put the bottle down and not bother abt her. Then when she cry hungry again, i would show her the bottle again until she dont cry when looking at the bottle then i try put the teat on her lips.

Actually ur situation quite bad leh, i pei fu u.. i would go crazy if i got to wait until she is 6 mths old to train!

I understnad what u feel when bb suckle cos when my bb suckle, never smile at me, i also feel very heartwarming. Definitely dont feel the same way when i give her the bottle but too bad, bottle is required.
 
RE: Bottle feeding

Haiz... i tot my bb is ok with bottle feeding already, end up she was on a growth spurt the past few days so she was too hungry to reject the bottle. Today she dont have growth spurt and started making noise again when i give her the bottle and reject bottle. Only managed to feed her 60ml through bottle today. was out so no chance to feed her another bottle. Got to continue with the training. Haiz...

I also not very sure how much bb drinks. I was introducing bottle to bb early this week and figured that she was drinking 130 ml per feed but seems like she was on growth spurt. Now i not sure what her appeitite is when she is not on growth spurt. Would start to decrease the feed to find out her normal consumption.

o ya.. i mentioned my gal no poo.. yester she finally poo.. after 11 daes.. so all mummies, realli no worries if bb no poo.. hee... i realli beri worried.. tried barley water on her.. wahahahahaha..... intend to brin her to c pd cumin mon.. she help mee save $$..

I would not wake bb up if it is at nite. But if it is in the day, i would wake her up if it is 4 hr since her previous feed.
 
my boy has started to flip from front to back in his sleep when he is agitated from gas, and then makes noise in distress cos he can't turn back to continue sleeping. i dunno whether to be happy that he is making another milestone, or irritated from being woken up too often in the night....

my menses has not come for 3 mths due to bfing.
I went for pap smear last sat and after the test done by my gynae, i encounter heavy flow after that. The nurse gave me pantyliner but no use, i felt heavy flow rushing out.. went to toilet check, oh my, my blood was dripping all over the floor. I ask the nurse is this normal and she said is normal. That is not menses, cos gynae took my sample for furthur detail test beside pap smear.
Did anyone encounter this like me?

i dun wake bb up for feed but usuali her day feed is 2-3hrs interval, her last feed till mornin feed is 10hrs. she slp frm 830pm to ard 630am.</font>
 
prosper, my menses just came 1 week ago though i stop bf for 1mth le...previous mths were like spotting..1 day hv 1day dun have...n the flow also quite alot for this mth...
 
I think my first menses started... yesterday &amp; today got spotting. So sian... I still have low MS so was hoping no menses

Yesterday my little princess went for her 5-in-1 jab plus Rotavirus &amp; Pneumococcal vaccine. Spent $417.30. Whole day okay until this morning fever started. So monitored till hit >37.5 degree then give her paracetamol. 1 dose and her fever subside. Actually before her jab, my mum taught me to give her drink American Ginseng to cool her body down prior to injection as prevention from fever. Look like not effective loh...

i normally donlt wake brianne up for her feed. i only did it when i need to go for cooking workshop.. i will feed her in the car, then pass her to hubby before i go class. after class will be her feeding time again cos she reject bottle lor.. else.. so much easier.

I am having some feeding problems with my bb too. The only difference is she seems to prefers the bottle to my breast. When I give her the bottle (EBM), she can take 100-120ml. But when I put her to my breast, she will suckle for 10mins, unlatch and then refuse to latch on again!! There's no way she's full after just 10min on my breast but if I try to re-latch her, she will start screaming. It really upsets me when she refuses my breast simply because I enjoy breastfeeding her. I　am a SAHM and hope to breastfeed for as long as possible.

Last night around mid night, I gt menses cramp very suan...wanted to take painkiller but didnt cos bfing...endure the pain and rub my gal's ruyi oil n feel better n xontinue to zzz, morning I went to toilet and chk nothing leh, my panty liner very clean...dunno why like dat..?
Any bfing mothers feel menses cramp? I hope my Af dun report,keke..cos gt AF is so troublesome :p

Wah next week gt how many gatherings? I blur liao..I am meeting Ann Melody on tues at tampines 1, mummies staying nearby can meetup

my hb appreciated e time spent w him n even confided some personal stuff to me...gosh...i realize he has been gracious enuf to hide his struggles b4 me as he does not wan to make me worry n not take good care of bb...felt really bad as i had been rather exasperated w him upon e arrival of our newborn...muz learn to love him even more as we fit into e new roles of dad n mom...

i doing part fm/bf, so far menses not here yet...but hor, i hav yet to see e gyni...very bad ya...better see him soon...btw, waz paps smear all abt? Painful?

Now my preoccupation is to lose wt n absorb useful advice for bb rearing...mag...books, here i come...

Oh Prosper, I just thot the red discharge could it be cause by the herbs u drank? U drink once only hor? How is ur milk supply so far? Gt decrease before u go pap smear?
 
oh, my menses is also not here yet, when i went for my pap smear last month, also nothing happened after that.

Yeah, watched Terminator yday, hahah cracked about Arnie's figure, think too "solid" already, too perfect and muscular hahahaaa

Pei (lemon), i think no worries about baby latching on for only 10min coz baby Keenan also latches on for about 7min when he's fast and hungry and can totally empty 1 breast in 7mins flat. And he'll be quite full and can only take in another breast - half portion (coz feels half empty). Of course, when he's sleepy, about 10-15mins each side. I figure its ok coz when i pump, can see there are 5-6 spouts of milk gushing out, so when baby suckle, i'm sure there's even more. Compared to bottle, only 3 holes in the teat, of course bottle slower....
 
Pei, ya I agree with Starflower, baby drink more milk frm breast than the milk squart out frm the pump, my gal loves latching on evening 7 plus onwards till she sleep around 10 plus cos bottle feed milkflow too slow for her in evening, she ah without fail gets very cranky in evening n refuse bottle suck cos milkflow is slower, so she will hv 2 full latching session n each last around 10 to 20 mins depends on how hungry she is, so dun worry

Oh is it? Cos there's once she suckles for 25mins and I can feel about 3-4 let downs. But if she suckles for less, I can only feel 1-2. Am afraid of starving her lor, cos can't really tell the difference between her sleepy and hungry cries. And she does not root when she's hungry nowadays, so difficult to tell when she's hungry!! So confused

For those who is taking GNC's Fenugreek, how many capsules are you taking in order to be effective? I randomly take 1-2 and it doesn't seem to increase my MS. So sad... going back to work in 2weeks time, dunno whether to give up BF as supply so low...

So your baby takes both bottle and breast ah? I am beginning to wonder if mine is suffering from nipple confusion lor. It seemed to come on only in the last few days - previously was OK. Your 10-20 mins latching session is per breast or in total? I am worried because some mothers said their babies latch for 30-45mins in total and mine is nowhere near that.

The sales person from GNC told me to take 2 capsules 3X a day, so 6 in total!! But from what I heard from other mothers, the instructions varies from sales person to sales person.

The sales person did told me 6 but the bottle stated 1-2 a day. I scared overdose side-effect so dare not try more than 2 yet.
So, how many did you take to be effective for you?

i went to TMC Parentcraft for help on breastfeeding in the earlier stage. I was also told to take 6 capsules a day. 2 capsules 3 times a day till milk supply establish then only take 2 capsules a day.

I didn't know when i first took it so only took 2 capsules a day.. not much help.. but now much better..

i got about 7litres of EBM in my freezer and dun know what to do with it cos Brianne rejects feeding through bottle..

No choice.. i still keep pumping to relief myself from engorgement and freeze the milk to be on standby.. in case i fall sick and need medication and cannot BF then no choice.. got to force her i hope that day never comes.

Day time bottle and night will be breasts, per latching session is per breast, so 1st latching will be either side for 10 to 15 mins...depends on her

I followed instructions and took 6 lor. But I don't know whether it's effective or not cos I was doing total latching then, so have no idea how much milk I am producing.
 
Lenny, gotta make sure the milk in freezer don't go beyond 3mths.

BB sleeping thru the feeds:
I'll not wake Zac up if he overslept. Reason is, if he is hungry, he will wakes up automatically.

Last 2 nights he woke up for 1 feed only instead of the usual 2 feeding. Hope this will continue and soon sleep through without any feed.

my hb wants me to go to parentcraft to seek help. But if it's nipple confusion, there's nothing they can do also. Plus, I am not a FBI member so I find it very expensive to pay $60 per consultation lor!! Went there twice and they gave some advice and then gave me the machine for me to pump my milk. Does not feel it's worth my money leh.

Don't worry about how much u are producing, as long as bb is satisfied after every feed.. its good liao.

i only pump if i feel engorged or Brianne did not empty my breast totally.

after i fed her on 1 breast, i will pump out from both breast to clear off, otherwise, will look funny with 1 breast engorged and the other one half flatten. I normally will get 180ml - 220ml after feeding her.

Don't worry too much about milk supply, it will increase over time. the more u are stressed about it, the more ur supply will be affected.

i also blur blur.. just feed on demand lor..
 
pei, e pd says jus 10-15 min for each breast, if ur bb sucks consistently...like wat starflower says, e ms flows out like a watering sprout, more openings so bb shld b drinking @ a shorter time reqd...

usually 30-45min is a good gauge of feeding e bb...if based on dd/ss, bb jus stops on his own naturally...sometimes if one starts to hiccup, i take it as a sign of fullness...read somewhere in e Internet...

You have 7 litres of milk in the fridge right? I was told that as baby grows, the composition of our breast milk changes to accomodate their needs. So what you pumped and stored 1-2 months ago may not suit her nutrition needs now. This might be somehting you want to take note of.
