Ha! Looks like the sembawang mummies can't get to sleep. (Me too!) Woke up by the lighting and thunder. Worried that my #1 will wake up crying for mummy. #2 still haven woken up (shd b soon).

Today is my #1 birthday. She turns 2 today! So excited. Am gonna bring her out today. Dunno to where yet. Hee.. Told hubby am gonna let her indulge. No porridge for her today. Let her eat watever she wants.. Dun think she know what birthday mean yet .. Except for cake and candle.. This mummy more excited than her.. Wahahaha

Kome - aiya! mummy's heart always soft de... hee hee... though sometimes i let her cry hor.. very heartpain.. hee hee... hubby too wood at times... grrr

hai.. all gone le... i think i shld try to nap too... feel so warm... =( hubby nose acting up so cnt on the aircon if nt sure fall sick liao... sian....! i have 2 hrs til my alarm rings. heh.

No lar, my FIl like this condo very much but 1 fengshui uncle told him that he is not suitable to stay here so my FIL let his children stay lor.

talking about nursing room those stay in West area must come take a look at the Jurong Point new wing nursing rooms. They have big spacious changing table and dunnoe is it becos I am suaku, ha..I am quite impressed for them to have big sitting cubicles for mummies to breastfeed their babies to have some privacy though I dun breastfeed but I think at least that is a nice thought when designing the new extension. Maybe the designer is a mummy too ! ha...

Been quite EMO since yesterday cos I decided to let my in laws take care of my boy when I go back to work but the only flaw is they stay too far from me so I can't bring him back daily except on Friday. I think he need one to one care for now as he is at such a fragile age hence Infant care for him would be too much for him to take. I can't be selfish to keep him by my side and he is one end up suffering. But I will miss tucking him to bed daily and wake up to his smiles to perk me up at work.. at the thought of this , I cried...but for his own good, I think I have to bear with the pain and hang on with the decision and treasure the time I have with him for the rest of my ML. I think I become really emotional after I take on the mummy role..

Anyway to all great mummies in this thread , Happy Mother's Day.

P.S: sorry for the ranting... need somewhere to ventilate... so do pardon me...

haha understandable. im like u too.. i will splurge uncontrollably when i got upset.. but at least it make us feel abit better right.. the only down side is.. i sometimes will regret after purchase. but haha who cares la.

We, mothers tend to love to see our children by our side. Actually i my mum also suggest the same thing when i move house end of this year. She want me to left my elder son with her and only bring him back on friday. Haiz....have to see how by than.

i've not check out the nursing room so far. i just moved here 2 weeks ago, have gone JP myself but did not bring bb along with me. normally leave bb at home with nanny, while i go and buy some necessities and quickly come home.

ya... I truely agree with u. That's why I thought of infant care but in the end at the thought where my son won't be attended to in the first place he cry and no one to pamper him now as he is at such a fragile age... I have no choice but think am I too selfish to keep him by my side...hence got to give in for his best interest.. your elder son how old ? maybe can try childcare if he is old enough ?

oh ic... u just move here ? welcome to the neighbourhood ! hee..wow... next time we can organise outing here..their restaurants are quite pram friendly..I tried bringing my son in pram to JP once for dining...and my pram did really block their passage way.. :p u can check it out next time u go... the nursing room with the breastfeeding cubicles is at level 2 beside the floral shop outside hypermart...

i know how u feel... initially i also thought of putting my son in infantcare cos i have no choice... my mum is not around anymore and my MIL in France, my sisters are working and all staying in Pasir Ris/Tampines, so no one to help me look after my boy. but luckily i found my current nanny who will come to my place to look after my boy. i am going to continue to engage her after i start work. so now, no need to put him in infantcare and have a peace of mind at work cos no need to pick him up, rain or shine...

hee no secret leh. my little boy auto switch to 12-hr sleep when he 7wks. if he sleep fm 11pm, will sleep till abt 11am next day. it's diff to put him to sleep coz he wakes at d slightest sounds/movements even when very tired but once he sleep, it's ok at night time. btw, he usually dun nap in daytime.

my little one refuse pacifier, he knows the diff now liao. at first abt 5 wks, still accepts it, since 7wks, he refused liao. pop it in, he push it out, no matter how many times we tried. only pacifier he accepts is me lor.

thanks. but i do direct latch on at night so dun know if i shd change diaper first then let him latch or... he sleep better now with direct latch on coz no need to wait for fm hee.

haha but i can't reach my boy's legs with one hand. can at most touch his buttocks. the other hand need to pull the sling open. so paiseh, now still need another person to help me before i can lower him into the sling. haha and my little one got a temper, if he refused to bend, he will just hold his legs very straight and i and my mil/hb all dun dare to try bend it for fear of hurting him! :p

haha no secret lah. my little boy auto, i oso dun know. he used to sleep abt 8 hrs before tat with 1 or no naps in daytime. he does want feeding once or twice each nite. it's easier since i try to latch him for night feeding n he's juz besides me on the bed. i lun his look when he's latch on too! both during n after when he looks so satisfied n happy

wow..that's good...envy u... I actually have a nanny who stay nearby introduce by my fren..however my husband is reluctant of the idea of nanny and he told me nanny=maid..quite unsafe...hence he say its either infantcare , PIL or I be a SAHM... hai...becos of this argue a lot of times..think we all want the best interest of our boy...so I got to give in no matter how unwilling I am... btw ur nanny come ur place how much is it she charge u ? just curious... u found through agency ?

sayang mummy bean. can understand how you feel. if i were to let my bb stay away frm me, tink i'll break down and cry many times. now, just tinking of going back to work and not being with him for the whole day makes me feel like tearing. haha guess i'm ultra sticky to him and hates to miss his development milestones like his first smile recently once i'm back to work. sob. actually i wld luv to be a sahm if can afford to, just that now can't... but i oso believe that own mother or mil is much better than maid or infantcare, at least more luv and sayang for bb.

yest my little boy refused to drink from bottle. he has been taking a mix of bottle (both fm and ebm) and latch since birth but kept pushing the teat out yest with his tongue and wun drink. am worried coz my bm from just latch on is not sufficient for him. he cried a couple of times yest when he can't suck any milk from my breasts but still persist in rejecting the bottle. any ideas on wat to do? if bring him to pd got use or not? btw for bf mummies, does your bbs "complain" when they are on your breasts? my boy likes to yak yak yak when he's on my breasts and there's not enuff bm.
 
btw, bm mummies, how do you guage how much your bb drinks in a day? cos i'm worried he's not full even though diapers r full...

Even though baby automatically turned on his 12-hour sleep mode, it is definitely a blessing! I am waiting for that day to come... no need 12 hours, just 8 hours and I will be so happy that you see me walking all over the ceiling.

Haha, of course cannot force bend baby's legs. Try stroking his calves (from the part behind the knees to the part above the heels) and slowly coax him to bend.

And yes, when the milk flow is too slow or low, my girl complains loads when she is on the breast. If the flow is too fast and she cannot cope, she lets go and you will see her getting a milk facial and me a milk wash for my bra.

yup, it's a blessing n i appreciate it esp since once he's awake, my little sweetheart wants carry all the time :p

oh oh i'll try out the stroking today, hee paiseh, ftm, i dun know how to coax him bend arms or legs. even changing time, i'll jux keep talking to him n wait for him to bend his arms for the sleeves!

haha ok, then at least i know is normal for bb to yak while on breast, my mum says we never did tat n she was surprised when she saw my little one!
 
Nursing room
Harbourfront mall - Big enough for 2 strollers, has 2 changing tables, nice deco, even a little corner behind curtain for bfeeding. My gripe is the silly bin cover is super heavy and the perfume thingy keeps spraying...wonder if its good for us to keep breathing that...overall 7/10.

Somebody should just come up with a cafe that caters to nursing mums. No dads or men allowed, only ladies &amp; babies. Then they sell lactation tea/coffee/drinks and cakes (hmm...fenugreek cake maybe hehee) and all baby related food products (gerber, etc)...bet it will be a hit for mummies gatherings :p (and nobody has to wear a nursing cover in the cafe anymore) ~hee wild ramblings...

My EYS doc told me no cold water &amp; aircon. He prescribe powder for me to drink and soak hands. He said the med is to "tong jing" (veins). Chinese med take time to work; so hopefully it will ease my pain asap.

REcent MS down like dunno wat..less than 50ml per pump. DRink lots of water also like tat and MIL dun wan me to BF bb which i seldom also ( she scare BB ll scream for breast after i go work)
