I think you can try to buy @AMK. Opposite of the AMK polycinic, there is an old shop selling children items. They might have the hook, if not you may need to go malaysia and check out.

Miss83
I intend to buy 4oz playtex milk storage bags @ 100pcs, but need to find a cable or string to tied up. My friends will be buying to try out first.

Kome, how to get the glass bottles from hospital? Just ask and they will give? Sorry about my silly question.. hee...

for mummies who are getting blackouts or feeling dizziness, try to take red meat eg. beef.

i have been craving for beef, it is either teppanyaki beef or yoshinoya beef bowl or steak.
eat until my hubby also scared liao.. haahhaa... my bosses said confirmed is a boy cos normally cravings are mostly meat if it is a boy..

will know the gender next thursday when i do the detailed scan. now already doing countdown to see my bb. hope all the mummies with princes can spread some boy dust to me!!!

keron&jeris
I loved Beef too. Be it steak or beef noodles.

Re : BM storage
still looking around for offer...see whether if bags or bottles on sale. then buy whichever is cheaper.

Keron&Jeris, baby boy dust to you.

i still have left over avent milk bags 3 boxes. maybe will use up that, since got around 300 bags in total.

Asura & Kome or Sun,

gynae prescribed to me a box of the DHA pills... hb said eat watever gynae give so dun tink will get from NeuroGain... thanks anyway =)

For storing milk,
I would say bottles are more useful as can recycle after sterilized. For milk bag only if you got a lot of supply of BM than use milk bag to store and store it in freezer. Coz if for normal your baby will intake the bottle can store up to 3 days in chiller. Through out my BF period of 11mths I only use bottles for storage didn't buy any milk bag at all.

No worry, all of us is learning. Good to assk question over here. Alot of mummies will be able to help also. You can tell the nurse at the nursery room the qty you want. They will keep all the bottles after feeding the babies and with new teats also.

Jasmine
I was just thinking abt the NeuroGain. I did emailed to her to order.

re:glass bottles
my sis's frd gave me alot of glass bottles fr the hospital. HOwever, my sis highlighted a few issues to me.
1. The bottles are small. Are you going to buy a teat that fit the bottles? If so, which can fit? NUK?
2. NUK bottle with the its teat has the remove / avoid wind element. So if fit NUK teat with the glass bottle will you still have the same effect?
3. For her frd, she store in the glass bottles. then transfer to the drinking bottles. Sis highlighted that there might be contamination as additional process.

I am confused too. if dont use the glass bottles then have to buy alot of bottles to pump the milk out as we will engorge often and pump and the milk can store up to 3 months...

Kome,
Only 2?? Enough? I ordered 6-7 bottles from her. But not sure can get how many. As even after birth need to take so I ordered more.

Thanks for the dust and dance, it was really nice to know so many mummies here as the pple ard me are so ignorant about pregnancy, sometimes it was like Dui Niu Tan Qing (talk to a cow).

Is it time to get the cot and all the milk bottles already? shouldnt we wait for the year end sale? there might have better deals instead.
we are looking at the prams and the car seats but everytime went in to the shops to see only, did not really find out more about the brands and prices. When is the time to make the purchases?

Kovanguest
1)The teats i think can get from the hospital too.
2) Not too sure either
3) If you use storage bags, will need to pour the milk out into bottle for feeding too. If you use milk bottle to store in freezer will take up alot of space than you might need to specially buy a mini freezer to store. Think waste money.

I am actually thinking using the glass bottles to store first if alot than will use the storage milk bags instead.

Keron
Think Dec or jan 09 is the best time for getting all the bb's things ready. Some mummies here saw got offer so they got some items first.

Kovanguest,
I did brought 2 from JB too. But coz I take public transport so dare not bring too many in. And the price the is the same as I get from the lady. So might as well get the rest from her... hehe..

For milk bottle:
I only use glass bottles for 1st month, than not enough for me to store each time I pump so I use avent bottle after 1st month can direct heat up and let my gal drink straight from the bottle.

Keron
For small stuff if got good buys can get it 1st lah. Im reusing the bottles which I have used for my #1 when I store BM so don't need to buy anymore liao. Can save some $$.

Jasmine
I don't dare to order too much due to my financial. No choice just get 2 first and every mth i will get from my gynae also.

i have not buy anything yet, MIL got a pot to boil milk bottles (which i think i will get a steriliser instead since boiling method will spoilt the milk bottles), she also got a Pigeon breast pump from relative (guess i might get another as i cannot find any good comments about this pump). Really stressed when i want to reject but dunno how to reject, i m scared she will want bb to sleep in the yaolan and other stuffs which i dont want... sianz...

kome
same here.. also becoz of financial so din get anything for baby till now.. is looking to kio things from friends and relative.. since baby grow up so fast..

Joyce
Must at least get a new set of clothes when discharge. I think because of old folk tale. Newborn=new world=new clothes to start.

What i can do now is to look at more bb stuffs so roughly know what items are good and worth to buy compared to using 2nd hand items from relatives. At least i can explain better and convince her about the new things nowadays. We cannot change character, anyway everything is for the good of the bb, so i m still okay at the moment.

So do share if any mummy got good deals coming along...
