ida, the FP sale is really quite small, not much stuff to buy, not really worth going esp its really quite far unless you stay in the west. But me still manage to buy three 6m+ toys for marissa hee.

koala - oooo i grew up in penang. good food!!! im nt too sure becos i havent actually looked for it personally. my dad is going back end of the mth.. will ask him to look ard for me.. then cn advise frm there... best is to go personally... but hubby wun let me go.. =( haiii...
 
kome u take the full 16weeks ah? im going back 9th... im taking 14weeks... then 1 week spilt into half days for 2 weeks.. then keep 1 week spare...

EBM storage period:

Vernice: If store in the freezer compartment in our normal 2 or 3 door fridge with other food, I think 3 months max cos we frequently open the door. Unless u store it separately in a chest freezer or another freezer where u seldom open, maybe 6 mths.

vernice: Wah, your company so good. When I asked my manager if I can take 4 months ML in one go, she corrected me "16 weeks cos some months have more than 4 weeks". -_- So calculative.

U're welcome. Actually, I hadn't thought much about the frozen EBM and was about to use them 6 mths later. Upon your question, I went to search. Now I also dunno how to use both fresh EBM and frozen EBM.

My frozen milk ranges from 130-160ml. Sometimes, 130ml I also freeze in a bag cos i figure that is about 1 feed.

<font color="ff0000">lipstar</font> - heehee ya..then for those not taking 4 mths in a go..the days are calculated as 4*31 days. I asked HR, they say easier for them to calculate so consider every mth as 31 days.
heehee i was thinking of frozen milk cos i lazy to transport milk to/fro my place n my mum's.
130ml might not be enough when bb grow up right?

vernice: I was also contemplating feeding him the Mar-Apr frozen EBM now. But the milk that i pump out now leh? Also have to freeze. Eventually still have to transport to MIL's place. U know, in-laws' fridge sure very crowded, where got space to put so much EBM?

Up to 6 mths old, their milk intake may not increase by a lot. Ida's son, can't remember how many months old, is still drinking 120ml. My sis-in-law's daughter is also drinking 120ml at 6 mths old.

have been away for a while, cannot believe it, was down with very bad flu (fever 40degs), then passed it to my elder girl and now my hubby has it. Feel so bad. So baby Rae has been quarantined at MIL's plce...had to bring EBM to her. I'm worried that milk supply will go down since bb not directly latching on.

did u guys see the straits time's Mind Your Body section tdy>..there's a Q &amp; A on the De Quervain's syndrome we were discussing about last time. Apparently, the steroid injection will not affect breastfeeding.
 
<font color="ff0000">lipstar</font> - oh..my son now taking 130ml liaoz..so i scare he increase intake. The milk once frozen cannot mix liaoz right? I got a friend's son same as mine now drinking 180ml liaoz.

Ya my mum's fridge is full of food liaoz. I was thinking of frozing those I pump at home one at my place so that the next tm i go back, i don have to bring milk back.

vernice: Can mix at same temperature. Eg: U need 150ml, u hv 2 frozen pkts of 130ml. So need to thaw 2 pkts. Balance of 110ml from 2nd pkt can keep up to 24 hrs in the fridge. Can combine with existing EBM already in the fridge 40ml or thaw a 3rd pkt... I think so....

sung, yeah, actually the best is to sterilise a bowl to capture our milk when hand-expressing, but I didnt do it cos I got so many bottles to sterlise each time. So I just use the normal wide-neck pigeon bottles to capture my milk. But very leh-cheh one, I always have to bend down to ensure that my milk flows into the bottle. Also, when one breast leaks, the another breast also leaks so I use another bottle and hold it in place with my hand while using both hands to squeeze one breast..Donno if you know what I talking about. I use to squeeze milk all over the place too, hee, but now expert liao, less milk spilled out. I basically use the gerber breast therapy pack first, then massaged my breast and squeeze my breast towards the nipple. Practice makes perfect. But I got to admit, its quite messy, even my hubby keep asking me to pump only, but I'm not keen as I got more milk thru hand-expression &amp; followed by pump.

guess what... i officially declare to stop pumping, i.e. bfing from this morning onwards... now drinking red wine with hubby to celebrate... hehehe

talking about frozen milk, keenan doesn't like the taste of those mid march packets which was the first few packs i started freezing.Suspect rusty smell. So advice by other mummies, i mixed fresh EBM 60ML + frozen EBM (thawed and milk bottle) 50mlto make up the 110ml then he happily finishes it. So since each frozen pack is 150ml , i have to use it up in 3 seperate feeds, which means i clear 1 packet in 9 hours (he is 3hrly feeding). Still within the 24 hours recommendation period.
But this also means i need to supply half of the fresh EBM daily, which i hope i can, knowing the amt of work stress when going to back to office....*sigh*

oh yeah, somebody asking about my medela? i'm selling the bag, not the pump. The bag is for medela mini electric plus.
