hi, any mummies interested in getting the Doidy cup? http://www.debabyshoppe.com/ if cn bulk purchase 10cups, can get 10% =P see if anyone is keen. im keen to get 1 to try. one is $15.90.

Specially designed to encourage babies to drink from a rim rather than a sprout

• Unique training cup designed and made in the U.K. to encourage babies to drink from a rim.

• Babies as young as 3 months find the two handled cup easy to hold and use.

• The unique slant of the DOIDY Cup enables children to drink easily as they can see the contents.

• Babies find it easy drinking from the DOIDY as the natural action used is the same as in breast feeding.

Young Infants (from around 3 months) find the two handled DOIDY cup easy to drink from because:

• the contents are visible to them (no cover)

• due to the sloping design, there is no forward and downward movement of the head

• they do not have to tip the cup up as they can see the contents when drinking

• the cup teaches them to drink from an open cup and also to put it down correctly

• they will not overfeed, the baby sets the pace and the quantity

Mouth Action

• Drinking from the DOIDY cup encourages good oral movements and helps to develop chewing skills as the jaw, tongue and mouth muscles are used. It also helps with hand eye coordination.

• Infants find this movment perfectly natural, therefore it is so easy to wean them from the breast or bottle.

• Breast fed babies from around 3 months or earlier can use a DOIDY cup for expressed milk. There is no need to use a bottle for all liquids in the weaning process.

• Bottle fed babies should be introduced to a DOIDY cup at 6 months or earlier and all bottles should be discouraged after one year.

• Drinking from a bottle is the same mouth action as drinking from a spouted cup or beaker. For this reason, the use of open cups have been recommended since 1999.

User Instructions

• When first using the cup, use a small amount of liquid and hold the cup at the bottom. Place the rim on the lower lip to allow the baby to take what he wants. Around five months, the baby will take the handles and try to feed themselves. From then, the baby will move towards picking it up and putting it down independently.

• There may be some spillage but remember that this is the only way that babies learn.

• It is recommended when travelling that all drinks should be kept in a seperate sealed bottle/container and the cup in a plastic bag and washed after use. Discard any drink that has been contaminated with saliva as it is open to bacteria.

Health Professionals

• Health Professionals are promoting the use of the DOIDY cup to help prevent long term health problems caused by delayed weaning from the bottle, which include:

# Premature tooth decay

# Poor feeding techniques

# Speech problems

# Anaemia

# Malnutrition

• Speech therapists use the DOIDY cup to teach lip and tongue control. It is also used by the handicapped, the elderly and people with alzheimers. Red and yellow cups are more visible to the partially sighted.

• The DOIDY is manufactured in the U.K. from food safe high density polyethylene in numerous solid colours and sparkle shades - DOES NOT CONTAIN BISPHENOL, PHTHALATES OR PVC - Recyclable.

• The DOIDY conforms to all current EN 14350 regulations - copies of the STR test certificates available on request.

• It is more hygenic than spouted cups. It can be sterilized and is dishwasher proof (top shelf) and freezer proof.

• The DOIDY is UNICEF baby friendly and is endorsed by the National Childbirth Trust (U.K.).

• Best of the Best winner in an independent cup survey by TIPS Nov 2007.

• Remember water is better than fruit juices and fizzy drinks, also milk can be drunk from a cup as well as a bottle.

NEVER LEAVE AN INFANT UNATTENDED WHILST FEEDING OR DRINKING.

Hi mummies,

my personal quarantine will be up after tml...kekeke
actually, my sis said that i should have stayed in France longer cos France seems safer than SG now... hahaha
let me know when u feel safe to meet me and where, ok?
happy.gif

eh, Friday afternoon i got appt... if morning, i can... btw, i would like to go for the flu vaccine. can u administer for me??

Kat & Lenny

Glad to hear my gal is not the only small one...hee

Idlecat, Joycelyn also prefer her fingers to teether. But her favourite is pulling up her shirt to stuff in her mouth...aiyo, so unladylike...kekeke

Kris, we decided to give Rotavirus vac due to hubby's fren's experience and also since is oral, I guess no harm. I din wan to give too many vaccines cos somehow I just dun like the idea. Today Joyce got high fever, wonder why the fever only came today since her vacc was given yday.

Any mummies giving 5-in-1 and din experience bb having fever? Just wondering if my boy's pd was right to advise that 5-in-1 generally do not cause fever as compared to 6-in-1.

baby head one side not round remedy : Let bb sleep with pillow that have holes . Now what u need to do is to sayang head meaning use your hand to do circular motion on the head a few times and so the head will be round again .

Frozen BM : For me as my BM supply drop liao .. now only manage to get abt 200ml each day so what I did was to mix those frozen BM with FM for my boi boi Bryan , initial stage fight with me don't want to drink so I yao him a bit and sing song to him and he drinks it . Don't give up try again Pinkdemoness .

Sung : Think positive as u can spend more time with your kid . Me too actually scared to get a maid and let her handle my boi boi but no choice lah have to as my MIL cannot cope as got another toddler my SIL kid to look after but luckily this maid that we got so far so good and hope she continue to be good and help me to look after my boy when I back to work .

Sophie : Thanks Pumpkinseed , thanks for your help to bring such a good toy for my boy . Waiting for it and he will sure like it since all babies like it .

Dim Sum : Really envy u all and hope next gathering I can join and know u all thru face ...

Minnie : Regarding cow's milk .. my boi also cannot take it and cause a lot of colic when I start to intro FM to him when my BM supply not enough then went to PD and was given medicine and after taking it though it helps but I don't feel good to feed my boi western medicine as he only a month plus so in the end I try goat's milk since my no.2 is taking it as recommended by chinese physician so I also change to goat's milk and true enough it helps my boi and he no need to take medicine and colic is over . One more thing , u can get those bottles which can help to prevent colic like Bfree plus which I using .

missycandy
huh, out of stock liao...
sad.gif

should have taken that time, cos i stopped bfing a week after i went to ur clinic... bo bian lor...
next tue should be fine for me... we confirm again
happy.gif

bluebell : I think different babies react differently to the vaccine. If got fever just give him progressic and monitor him for a day or 2 and should be ok .

Rotavirus : Yes my colleague boy kena and also recommended by my PD to take as preventation so I take lor ..

jean - heh heh heh. ya very what. i also didnt jab myself. boo. yeh. we confirm again. see if anyone else wans to meet as well? =)

Tuesday 30th June.

hahaha... actually i'm not worried la... i just let him develop at his own pace
happy.gif

yesterday he almost made a full flip, but halfway he got stuck, dunno how to bring his hand across to complete the flip... hahaha
wat we like best is that he likes to kick his legs, as if he's cycling... his granny, grand-auntie and grand-uncle were all amused when he did the cycling motion. then he likes to put his legs on the tray in front of the stroller, really relaxed lor... but too bad, the stroller here doesn't have a tray in front
