If u want to teach, perhaps u can recall whether u even teach tuition b4 and that will count as ur experience as tuition agent will ask for that.
If u dun have experience, u can still teach but ur rate will be much lower. Ur rate will be depends on ur year of experience, ur qualification (eg. Uni grad or Poly grad with what kind of grade)
MOE do allow school teachers to give tuition but there are conditions to fulfill, like not more than 6 hours a week. And cant use own school material to give to ur tuition students. If more than 6 hours, got to write in to ask for MOE HQ permission. Cause some teacher may have financial difficulty that they need to earn some extra $ by giving tuition. MOE do understand but tuition cant affect ur proper work. So that is why not more than 6 hours a week for tuition assignment.
I only got 2 tuition, each 1 is 2 hours so in a week, only 4 hours so it is fine. As school teachers, we are well-sought in the tuition market. We are paid $35 to $50, depends on the student level and subject, P1 or P6 rate will be very different. For me, my rate is around $40 to $45 per hour. So for 4 hours efforts a week, I will earn around $600 in 4 weeks. It helps to pay my daughter's nanny fee and Mamy Poko diaper. Haha...
For u, if u r a Uni grad with good grade in the subject u r teaching, n u got 2 or 3 yrs experience. Think ur rate is around $20 to $25 per hour. U can 1st register with tuition agency, now got online agency. If they got assignment, they will call u. My HP is hotline especially after school exam like CA or SA since parents start to worry for their kids and want to find tutor to help their kids. Hehe...
Giving tuition is very flexible. If u no time to take up this assignment, u can turn down the agent. So u choose the timing that fit ur schedule, like taking care of our bb etc. Also, if u find the location too far, u can turn down also. But that will limit ur choice. Now, economy not good, the tuition market is supply a bit more than demand, so cant be too choosy.
