Kash & Amooks: The schools come on a 1st come 1st served basis. But they will have prioirty for babies whose 1) siblings are still in the school 2)siblings who used to be fr the school 3) parents who used to be fr the school 4) parents who are alumni of the school ie Nanyang secondary/primary. So for example i don't fufill any of the criteria listed above. If a mom was an ex-NY KG student registers her bb after me, her bb will still get prioirty over mine. School fees in NY are roughly 700 (sorry cant rem the exact amt) for 1 term but I heard they are increasing it by 600 when they move in2 the new campus. The school is popular because it is a "famous" school and because it's classes are all taught in chinese. I m sending my bb there cos more convenient for my MIL logistically as my nieces/nephews are also in the school -- and she is in charge of taking care of all 3 of them!

St James Kindergarden: FYI waiting list is now 62 for morning session and 40 for afternoon. The intake is 140 students.

Dymples/Mummy: ONZ -- I am only gg back to work on the 25th. So let's meet up again. I still havent had a chance to properly fit Kaitlyn into the carrier leh. So hope she likes it as much as your princesses do.

Sigh, my hb went out to sea today... and either will be bk tmr nite or tue. think it's v sian to be alone at home w a baby for either 2 days or 4 days.

haiz.. my ger is so cranky today..
as people asked if she can sleep thru the nites.. i said yes.. but tonight.. she keep waking up crying... wanna carry... then pat her back to sleep...

my boy also keep waking up tonite from 1am, guess he wan to be fed bah but i ignore him until nearly 5am, if not my right breast starts to feel engorged think i will continue to let him eh eh eh... but juz now i let him suck he only suckle for few min only so in the end i got to pump the excess out... arghh

Ivy.. same.. 12am feed.. sleep n wake up n cry all the way till 5am...Sigh!! 9am woke up again...slept till now.. there she goes.. crying again... ARgh!!

hey mummies,
i'm trying to start to put my bb on a routine feeding schedule insead of feed-on-demand. So far i tried it over the wkend..still quite okie..meaning before the 4hrs is up, i'll just use pacifier to pacify him instead of giving him milk...sometimes he even exceeds the 4hrs n its me who cannot tahan & got to either pump it out or try to get bb to drink..
my plan of doing this routine is to prepare him when i get back to work next mth as well as to try to "train" him to sleep thur the nite..

My Qn, is 4hrs too long an interval?? Cos in the past he used to feed every 2 to 3 hrs..

4 hours is ok 'cos as they gets older, they will start to stretch to that hour anyway. For my boy, he was already on 4 hourly at 2mths old and at times, he can even go up to 5 hrly (esp in the wee morning after the last night feed).

The important thing is that it should be his own timing and not ours at this stage as they are still growing.
 
morning gals, hope u all have a great weekend! me finally managed a game of mahjong, surprisingly dun miss it as much, guess I just wanna koon now whenever I got time coz taking care of bb alone is really xiong..

wah, ur bbs can go on 4-5hrly intervals already ah.. my boy still on 3hrly feeds in e daytime. thinking of increasing his feed amt leh, but hor he drinks his 130ml so slowly now, sometimes also cant finish, how to increase man..

btw, anyone still having their lochia? I still have on off spotting leh... sooo long liao, wonder if it's anything wrong? =@

i just gave in to his feed at 3.5hrs..haha wanted to "ren" till 4hrs but he's crying too much liao.. anyway think he gets hungry faster when he's playing n not sleeping...He hasnt slept since his morning afterbath feed (i.e breakfast feed). Finally he's sleeping now after his "lunch feed"

mm if it's their own timing then it's "on-demand" not schedule feed le rite?

Oh need to seek ur advice now tt ur little bryan is in infantcare. Is 3 days enuff for BB to "orientate"/get used to infant care? i.e I put BB in fm wed to fri n start work the following monday?

Hahaha...yes that will be on-demand. I think for this crucial stage when they are really growing we should still stick to on-demand as they know best when they need food

To me, the 3 days of 1/2 day session to orientate Bryan into infantcare is quite ok 'cos he still looks happy when he sees me at 1pm to pick him up. However, on the 1st two days of his full day infant care sessions, he got a little confused at the end of the day not knowing/recognising me or my voice and he was really quiet. Very unlike his usual jolly self. That was pretty upsetting for me as I thought the poor chap must hv gotten really confused not knowing if I'm a teacher or his mummy. But on the 3rd day after his full day session, he came home smiling and talked non-stop for half the night till his last feed! After that, he no longer has problem with the full day session and now he will smile and kick his legs when he see/hear my hb or my voice

Just be prepared that your baby may look or seem uninterested or very quiet for the 1st couple of days (full day sessions). Given time, they wiil spring back to their old self

are you breastfeeding? i do total breastfeeding and mine end after 2 months and now someday still have very light spotting. according to gynae it is normal cos uterus contract when we do breastfeeding.
 
Hi mummies,
Today is my first day back at work. Have pumped twice since leaving house. My first pump was quite good, about 2.5 oz, but my second pump was only 1.5 oz.

I will have to pump more tonight when I get back.

Yesterday, I started pumping & latching at the same time. So Emma latches on one side and I pump on the other. I found that my pumping output was better this way, than if I just pump like that. Could get a few let-downs (when the milk is spraying instead of dripping) in one session, when usually I just get 2 let-downs. I will try to do that during the times when I'm home, so as to increase my pump output.

I'm a bit discouraged today cos I only pumped so little. But good thing I'm not working tomorrow, so I hope to pump more to keep for when I'm at work on Wed. Sigh, this pumping thing is so difficult. Good thing I'm not working everyday, otherwise it will be very difficult for me to continue with bfg.

yeah i think u can feed 4 hourly in the day. try to make him nap longer.

i notice recently my boy naps for 4-5 hours in the day no need to drink.. and i realise for the past 5 nights he has been sleeping thru 8 hours never wake up for feed.

what i did was after his feed i will play with him.. then put him on the rocker coz he sleeps best there. then he starts to nap.. the naps starting was 2 hours now 3-4 hours. After a few days, he started to sleep at night for 7-8hours!

just my two cents worth!

so envy mummies has baby that sleep for at least 2 hours for day time nap.

my boy never sleep for more than 1/2 an hour after each feed. xian man

btw i remember someone told me that breastmilk got a certain timing is good. could i know which timing? morning? afternoon or night?

fabbie, tink it might be cradle cap leh, must rub olive/mineral oil on her head, leave for at least 1 hr, then shampoo off, my ger got it for more than 1 mth liao, ok already then came back again.
