Ask u mummies, does ur bb have alot of goop inside their nose? My son tend to have alot of them every 2days or so and it really bothers him cos he has difficulty breathing. Wonder is it cos we sleep with windows open so abit dusty?

yes I also got wrist pain, only on my right hand not left hand. think its the posture la, not so much abt washing our hands with cold water or not, if not how come only 1 hand pain. 1 hand okie. But i must agree hot water / heat applied on the wrist really feels better. I apply counterpain & using wrist guard now.

Loveangel...sianz right...just when i tot now tt my tummy has gone down, jeans/shorts can wear le, then we find the next problem: our hips...
Anyone koes when our hips will reduce too??

ya I only heard can do early cannot do late. But nv heard abt must do on exact day then can. Also nv heard the differnce for bb boy & bb gals full mth. Phyl, just do on the date/day then u want

I'm also plannig to get my hair rebond before bb's full mth...my hair is in a super terrible now i feel..

Not doing confinement like eating all those funky stuff.. My mom just cook for me more fish.. that's abt it... I'm cantonese so I usually drink a lot of soup.. so not much different.. just dun take the fish and papaya soup.. I think it is toooo fishy.. makes me wanna throw up!!

Not really confined either.. but dun feel like going out either... just want to get use to having my bb around.. but will be celebrating her 1st month with just family... small get together at a restaurant.. =)

My girl have been sticking to the same amt of milk given, I wonder can I give her more but she takes long time to drink finish which my hubby sometimes pissed off becos she takes too long to finish 120ml.

Doc said my baby is slightly underweight so I am worried about it. My ss no more liao so now is on full formula. So sad...

I thought we r suppose to clean bb's tongue aft every feed or at least every morning to prevent "nee ci"? My CL din do that n i purpurly ask her to clean leh..

anybody feeding theri glucose? my CL ask hubby to buy a tin for my bb. she giv her 3 times a day. is that ok?

BB Javier is 10th day old liao, i can pump around 3-4oz per session n bb is drinking abt 80-90ml per feed. hee... jus went for newborn assessment day before n he is already 3.2+kg liao. hee...

marilyn, nadia says i dun hv blocked ducts and no engorgement oso! i did try to pump after latch and juz now manage a pathetic 10ml after 10mins.. beginning to worry that my ss is dwindling. I have been keeping myself hydrated but cannot drink plain water, which is quite troublesome.

What else can I do leh??

my milk came in at the end of day5, prior to that I latch her on whenever she wants, which is a lot! CL was hinting that I should buy FM or feed her water but I just ignored her. No prob since then, I have so much milk now I just pump and throw away sometimes... No need to supplement with FM for the first few days as bb doesn't need much.

have not heard of feeding bb glucose... BM is all bb needs for the first 6 months.

CL mentioned to me to buy pearl powder but I have my doubts about how the pearls are cultured. typically fresh water pearls are used and usually plastic beads are inserted into the oyster as the nucleus. I'm not sure if the plastic is ground together with the nacre. Anyone knows? cos i don't want to be feeding powdered plastic beads to my kid

pastillies, i using beansprout pillow. It's believed to be able to 'ya ching' but not sure lar..mabbe cos it is heavier so when bb is alarmed, they will not get such a fright..

My milk also came in on day 5 and now no prob.. Am on total latch on.. From day 1-day 4, I just latched bb on whenever she wants... No FM..

Glucose water is only needed when u want to breastfeed but have no colostrum at the start.. The hospital will ask whether u want to feed ur bb glucose.. of course u dun need to as bb can survive on the store for several days... once u give milk, there's no need to give glucose.. as the milk whether FM or BM will have sugars too...

I usually pump about 2-3x a day to relieve, cos sometimes bb sleeps for 6hrs straight! I usually pump after a feed from the breast that's not latched on. The yield is quite unequal so I pump 1 side more often to try to balance things out... now its improved and they are producing roughly the same amount. I do not pump to empty the breast cos that will force them to produce more at a faster rate, which is disastrous for my sleep! so I normally remove about 30-40mls each side for comfort. It sounds wasteful but I just throw the milk away. I figured since I will be at home for about 4 months no point storing now since it will not be as fresh. I keep only a few 100ml packets in the freezer for days that I may go out without bb. I sterilise the bottles after pumping.

I also have a bean pillow but bb still startles about once a day and wakes up screaming. I guess its effective if she flinches but not if she has a huge shock.

She also mentioned jin feng san but I have no idea what that is either. Sounds like golden fan. Then again when I first heard of Da4 Chang2 Jing1 the korean drama, I thought is was Large Crystal Intestine... so... hmmm...

we had western food for dinner today as celebration for Xmas. finally, a nite without confinement food... & i oni got 7 more days to go...so sick of all the ginger stuff already.

fabbie, my CL say to feed bb with pao sheng double boil 2-3hrs with 1-2 oz of water & very little rock sugar.Then let bb drink the nite b4 injection.

Gerry, i heard pearl powder is for calming the bb. Jus check with my CL, she say the bb complexion will become very good. But if you buy, must make sure that u see the person crush the pearl in front of u, do not buy the ready made powder ones. hehe, like that i think i will ask my mom go buy... my bb now wakes up every 1/2 hr...

Does anyone know usually how much milk a 5 days old baby will drink? I tried to express my milk...abt 60ml and it seems that it not enough for my baby boy. Getting stress now...

I'm now using a manual pump and it find it too tiring... any electric pump to recommend?

Btw how do you find the confinement food from Natal Essentials so far? I ordered from them too & I like most of their soup. Their dishes are sometimes good, sometimes average. Altho’ I can’t finish the portion alone, I find it not enough for me & hb.

Congrats! Your baby Caryn look so cute and wow so alert & attentive in pix. No worries, your baby shall grow and be chubby soon.

My gal was so thin esp looking at her limbs and fingers/toes. Now her fingers & toes are chubbier.

As to milk supply, m into my 15th day and BM supply through expressing is still at 20ml. If i get 30ml, it's only in the morning. Lactation nurse mentioned that i need to breastfeed baby 12 times a day - at least feed baby every 2 hrs. I haven't been able to keep to this - doing 1/3 of it only.

Still, m trying. So Jiayou!
