Sam: I stayed in 1-bedder at MAH for total of 4 days due to baby's jaundice. Maybe that's why my bill is high. My hubby stayed too at $75 per day for food & bed.
 


Hi gals. I just went to see Dr Normal due to i everyday having a fever!! And this time i prepare quite a number of questions. Seriously i hate the feeling that everytime he saw me he like dun even know me. But i can't blame him lar. cus he see too many patients liao. Okay I told him i got high fever on last thursday and thru out till now my fever was 38c, he didnt check my fever nvm. But he told me that i must pump my breast every 3 hrs, this may due to my breast, i did told him like got lumps! He just remind me must pump if no if duno got what on my breast need to OPeration(sounds scary) He didnt ask me further. In the end he gave me 4 med! 2 antibiotics he told me all these med is still able to BF.

Questions i ask him, Why my always after pumping my breast i got this chichi feeling(he replied, Its like that one). I have Fever, Fa leng, Headache and feel like vomiting Why? (its like that one lor thats why u must pump). When i BF can i eat seafood?(Yes) can i eat raw food like salmon?(Yes) can i drink coke?(Yes, if ur mummy scold u its okai! -___-). Can i have baby when i BF?(Yes but only 20% of chances will get pregnant 80% Wont). When can i know theres no more milk or to stop it? (2 types.. 1 you ownself stop it, 2nd give u med to stop it) I told him eating med breast will nua right? he say NO lar.. old liao breast also will nua lar.. Wah i tell u.. mY hubbie thru out keep giggling non stop cus he know that my gynea will say Its Normal to me when i ask so many questions. Faints... Btw im curious how to stop BF on my own?

2nd Baby,

It's good that she won't take the pacifier cos sometimes ppl have problems later on trying to get their baby to DROP the pacifier sucking habit ... BUT I think that the pacifier can help now to pacify the baby .. especially when they just want something to suck ... better the pacifier than my boob mah ..

Ya, I guess that would add the other 1k to your bill .. I only stayed 2 nights in my one bedder at KK. They don't charge for hubby staying but no meals provided for him.

it's not that difficult to stop breastfeeding on your own ... just lessen the number of times you pump or breastfeed and your milk supply will drop and then stop completely ... I never had to take medication to stop my breastmilk ... cos I stopped BFing gradually ...
 
I realise for 2 days that if i latch my baby, he is not getting enough but when i feed him via bottle, he can sleep 4 hrs straight. My CL keep hinting to me that I should give him EBM instead and seeing how well he sleep, i m beginning to tink is it really worthy to keep latching him on or should I juz keep pumping n pumping so that he can drink fr bottle? But in my mind, i onie wanna introduce bottle during his 2nd mth leh.. sigh

N of course these few days abit stress out due to alot of stuff: MIL's stoopid comment on who the bb look like, CNY coming, the house very messy, etc etc etc... arrggh.. and I tink my milk ss really went dwindling tat's y bb not getting enuf

i'm doing total latch on now..

my bb can nurse for very long (half-1hr) and then stop for 15mins several times a day.. but once he gets enough, he can be sleeping long hours.. the most was 4 hrs straight..

he will automatically nurse frequently when supply isn't enough especially during growth spurts.. and you'll notice that the more frequent he feeds and empty your breast, your milk supply will come in faster as well..

when he latches on, try doing breast compression as well.. this will push down the hindmilk (fatty milk) that can help ur bb to sustain longer before the next feed..
 
dee, how to do compression?? My bb latches on for abt 45minutes one leh..

My CL super jia lat one. I finish pumping juz onie and bb woke up to feed. She ask me, so now u pump got 4oz?? wah liao.. not tat bb is drinking 4oz, he is not even drinking 3oz lor.. what for u bother whether i got produce 4oz or not. i totally ignore her. She should be concentrating in cooking and taking care of the bb and house and make sure that i eat those food that can help to produce more milk. Buy so many fish but onie cook twice for me this week. Sian..i hv to be the one that tell her cook this and remember to add fish.

Okay..today i must not bother abt what they all say..so as not to affect my milk supply! Must tink positive and stay happy..
 
my MIL also like that.. once see bb cry a bit, said he didn't eat enough or ask if i have enough milk or why not give him FM..
i just tell her, have enough lah! :p
old folks are like that.. they scared their grandchildren doesn't eat enough.. gosh, as if their tummy is so big that they have to eat all the time..

ya, just ignore them lah..

my CL also like that, always ask how much i pumping out. I just tell her that the supply is ok, never tell her that each time i pump only about 10ml come out. She sure say not enuff.
What i do now is i try to latch on in the day, even if very frequent. Then for the nite feeds, i'll latch on for 20 min each side, then supplement with either EBM or FM. I tried using cup to feed but bb keep struggling and spilling the EBM. So now i'm using bottle to feed the EBM and FM.

it's x'mas eve. hehe.

ydae too tired so din waki to pump in d nite. lucky no engorgement. hehe. tinking of lengthening d hrs i pump n stop gradually. hard to pump when my elder one is walking all over d house n constantly need someone to look afta. haiz. mi n hb hands full liao. unless i get maid. =(

ltr still gotta pack d house n place my bois' presents under d small small x'mas tree. kekez.

yes!! massage starts todae at 12.30pm.. but somehow clashes with my baby's feeding time. Mabbe bb will wake up earlier to feed, not sure abt it. I really hope the massage can help me clear some milk ducts so tat i can hv more milk. No matter how i pump max onie 100ml.. on good day, i will get 140ml which is like onie happen once. I suppose i need to keep myself happy then milk ss will be good bah.

Juz: its ok to take those herbs, But not everyday. Once or twice a week is gd enuf.

Jowin: sorry to hear that. my condolences to u and ur family.

Regarding ru yi oil accoriding to my grandma: ladies, remember do not wash ur hands imeediately after you have applied the oil for baby. You will have the icy cold feeling if you wash your hands immediately and that will usually cause rhumatism when we grow older. Just leave it and let is subside for a while on ur palms.

everywhere is dangerous coz he's a veri mischevious boi. even when he in his playpen, he will stand up, hold on to d side of d playpen n let go off his hands to fall onto his bed. headache. dangerous. haiz.

my bb slp with CL. She will bring him over when its time for feeding. I'll try to latch on for as long as i can. But there were some nites even after very long, he still cry when i put him down. So bo pian supplement with either EBM or FM.

Any of you taking fenugreek pills? What brand is good? I wanted to get GNC but the outlet near my place out of stock...

ehh iemik0, u still pump at nite... i tried once, super tiring..after the nite latch-on still got to pump then store, wash , sterlise...cannot too tired at nite to do so...so envy u mummies who's all so discpline & determine in expressing...i'm only doing 1X a day, sometimes 2X max..i think i need for discpline & determination..

Massage:
I just finish my massage sessions with my ML. this morn was the last session. so this morning before the masssage i happily tried to try my pre-pregnancy demin shorts, thinking that now tummy went down shd be able to fit in le..but OMG, i realise the prob is not the tummy but the Butt! seems like our butt have expanded (pelvic expand issit) & its hard for me to get into the shorts!! help! anyone koes how to slim the butt area?
I only koe tummy is do binding /crunches, wat abt butt?

I'm taking fenugreek(GNC), I have an extra btl, Let u have it at spree price if u r keen, 200 cap in a btl, 2 cap a day. My BM supply r more than enuff so far, have surplus as well,can express up to 220ml at good time, dunno is it due to fenugreek anot coz I kiasu, eat fish, milo, papaya soup with fish, 5 grains oatmilk etc...and latch on/pump abt 5-6 times a day.

Think order 70-80 pax should be ok, coz quite a handful of guests stay for lunch and dinner(I've ordered 2 rounds of 40paxs so that food will still be "fresh" till dinner, ordered the $9 for 8 dishes min 40 pax)

Items to order which I find it quite good:
Braised pork with bun(Thumbs Up)
Curry Chicken(Not too sure coz me still cannot eat, but my guests said quite good)
Soya DuckQuite good oso)
Sliced fish with dried chili(Quite good too)
Fried Chicken wings( Left 1 pc)

My condolences to u and ur family. My grandpa also pass away during my last trimester. I still go to the funeral though my FIL sound displeased. I wear a red rope with a key around my waist n I dun perform the ritual. I not too sure about confinement. Maybe u can ask the funeral ppl. They know better.

Dun bother with your MIL. Since u r the mother of ur BB, u can take responsibility of ur BB. I think ur MIL is just being superstituous.

Ur mum can still take care of ur BB. Just that she need to wash her face with a leave. I got a plant full of this leave cause my daughter very pantang. She get cranky after going out jalan jalan. Me and my hubby dun believe but do it to pacify my mum. U can ask ur elders for this leave. Paiseh, I dunno the name.

I order a buffet for 50 though I am expecting 80 guests. I din get from YLS, the buffet is by my hubby's friend. I only pay $450 for 10 courses buffet.

U need to know the number of ppl confirmed coming. We count children as half person only. Then u got to see how many courses u choose n the variety of food also. If your buffet is mostly finger food then u got to order more. If ur buffet got more cooked food then order for 80 persons can liao. Timing of ur buffet also important. Cause if ur buffet slightly later than normal meal time, most ppl would have eaten b4 they come liao.

I feel so tired and wan to sleep. Any food that I can take to help me to be more alert?

My hubby said tat I am getting more forgetful and I start to daydream. Is it common after birth?

Ask your CL to cook fish for you more often. Fish got alot of DHA which is good for brain building. So fish is very essential for breastfeeding mum.

Why ur CL so stingy? U r the one who buy the fish wat. My mum cook fish for me for every meal. U should demand that from ur CL too.
 
I need advice. what type of therometer is good to buy for babies. I need to buy. some said forehead scan type is good.

any recommendations?

its advised for bb below 6mths to use axilla thermometer. one good brand is terumo. 6mths n above can use tympanic thermometer.

I have done the pap smear test for my postpartum checkup. I think it is to check that our cervix got no infection ba. I got to do this 1 yr later. Actually all women should go for pap smear test once a year, according to my gynae.

I feel tired during my confinement. Now is much better. Perhaps u feel tired and want to sleep due to lack of sleep from taking care of BB. Give urself and ur body more time to recuperate.

U only after birth then forgetful. Haha.. I always find my memory deteriorating during pregnancy. But I dun have daydream.

I am using Osim ear scan thermometer. So far so good.

No lah, I eat a variety of food. I drink herbal soup oso, pork chop(Marinate with abit of dark soy sauce, char siew sauce, fish everyday(either steam/fried, different fish lah, I eat alot of cod fish),Honey chicken(easy to cook and nice), pig trotters with vinegar almost everyday for 3 weeks( I like this) Can eat fried rice, bee hoon, mee tai bak , mee sua, kway teow. Can eat fried chicken oso occasionally. One dish my mum cook very nice, really boost my appetite, it's sweet mei cai with wu hua rou, add abit of rice wine, ginger, water to cook.

I nvr heard tat during confinement cannot go funeral, if u 1 2 go, think better get some pomelo leaves to "clean" urself or whoever will be in touch with the bb. It's the bb tat u r going to worry, coz may cause "fright" and some bb very pantang.

I did not count the children at all, so actually quite alot of ppl, coz I think normally ppl eat little only.

My baby been hospitalised for jaundise on 22/12/08 for 2 days, and just discharge today. So Happy........Hee. Can celebrate xmas w us.
Now my hubby n I r taking care of bb ourselves cos we din have CL n MIL doing confinement for me. So we 2 taking care of bb day n nites la. Still trying to get use to it especially for nite time. Not have enough sleep these few nites cos need wake up 2-3 hrs to feed baby. N some x she dun want sleep after feeding, so we have to spent hrs to comfort her n make her sleep………sigh.
But also good la, can hv bonding w her…………really miss her a lot when she in hospital………

i am also on total expressing. bb don latch on well. will cry her heart out bec bottle is faster n notice that one side have more supply &thicker than the other breast. she is also having high jaunice so have to use bottle (luckily no need to go photo therapy) or else i will perfer to latch her directly. :{
 
tmr will go market n buy more fish!! Then will get my CL to steam fish for me daily!!

Yippee..my mom say bb's full month is actually next Saturday according to chinese calendar but i hv yet to finalise the gift pack yet..dunno which one to go for..sian

No pro, still have not finish 1 btl, 1 btl can last 100 days liao, so enuff 4 me, coz I intend to bf at most 3mths. Difficult to express at work.
 
seems that fenugreek is oos everywhr hor. My hb went to Tampines Mall, oso oos then finally found 3 bottle at Compass Point and the guy say stock juz came alr all snapped up! So many mummy gave birth and need to eat fenugreek?

I got eat 2 daily but somehow i dun see my ss going up leh..hehe
