I am waiting for my 2nd mense to come then can go IUD. My mense go haywire now. Am certain not pregnant again cause no sex since 1st mense after birth. Before pregnancy, my mense always very regular. For those who got bigger BB, will your mense change?

my #1 still eats porriage.. haven't tried rice yet.. but i tried feeding him mini macaroni.. like your boy, he'll spit out! maybe still didn't quite like the texture..
my boy only have 4 teeth above and 2 teeth bottom.. the remaining seems to take ages to come!

fong/pastillies,
growth spurts happens around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less)..
last 2-3 days, but sometimes last a week or so..
bb will automatically get more milk by nursing more frequently, and your milk supply will increase due to the increased nursing.

i ordered Melrose for my elder son's full mth celebration 3 yrs ago but had bad impression on them ler... mainly is b'coz their food portion so little & made me so paiseh coz those guest that came later basically dun hav food to eat... so in the end got to go outside to tapao food

I hate the word NORMAL...

i was talking to Lavendery that day.. her wound is as bad as mine if not worse.. till today... i still cant walk and sit properly.. and maybe she is not as strong as me so she needs alot of support... she has no CL to help her.. but her mum is there to help her out with the chores.. i guess she was really stressed out over the BM ss sit and nite feeds...

Ivy - i think jess is talking abt melrose buffet, not the full mth gift pack.

ypg - i'm not sure if lavendery have internet connection. what i understand is that she may move to her mum's place for confinement. i don't know if she is keen on giving her mobile. will check w her if i can get a chance to talk to her later.

piGgiCia - sorry, what normal? did i mention not right. i thot lavendery has a cut not tear? for ur case, i thot it's tear? actually i also pain, can't sit properly. but coz i'm doing confinement alone, a lot of things still need to do; since it's 1st born, a lot of things still trying to learn n master & i only zzz average of 3-4hrs in total every day. i just felt that she is not full prepared for post-pregnancy...

Pastillies, Ivy,
I using medela breast shells, not breast shields, dunno if they are the same. I find quite useful to collect leaking milk while feeding on 1 side. Only thing is must wear bra to support.

Juzyounme,
I super heartache to see bb hospitalized. Feel as thou its my fault that things turned out this way. Did you go down to the hospital to bf? I want to go down every 3 hrs but ppl tell me to take this time to rest.

Woops, din read instructions... Now I know. Silly me, what I did was on the warmer first to heat up the water, then when light went off, I put in the bottle.

Confinement food,
My MIL say if stitches not healed, cannot eat all the heaty food like ginger and sesame oil. She scolded my CL for making me so heaty.. So now I eating normal food like before. Also stopped drinking red dates and drinking more water and barley.

AdelChia - yup, i go down everyday at 7pm to try breastfeed baby. i din't go down every 3hrs coz he was nder double light thearpy n not gd to keep going off the light. that time i felt v teary to see empty cot at home.

Dee - No wonder. My gal is now 11 days old. For the pass few days she's been crying for more even though we feed her every 3 hrs. And since yesterday she's more settled.

Juz - Is lavendary doing confinement on her own? Her mother or mother in law helping her?

adel, stitches not healed cannot eat heaty food meh? I had c-sect, i onie din eat chicken and egg leh.. the rest i still eat as per normal. Onie after the 12th day i eat chicken n egg..heheh

My MIL say heaty food may lead to wound becoming infected, dunno how true. I've been eating chicken lei. Cannot eat egg also. The only food I can't eat now is cold food from fridge, minimal ginger, sesame oil and cucumber. Everything else my MIL say can eat. Also good la, so sick of eating confinement food liao.

I also tempted to stop...but then think want to save on the formula milk so tahan lor hehe.. the nurse very good n nice..but also very strong leh..press use a lot of force.. she got tell me to do every 3 hrly..however she is a staff nurse n not the lactation nurse coz I went ard midnight already...
the MO is an indian lady..very fierce...question me like criminal leh when I go in..never smile also.. like I am a fugitive lidat ..then when I ask question also give me the look like dun want to answer my qn lidat

Juz - Any idea if her husband/siblings is helping out also? I think hb & family support is impt too. Cos initially i also feel depressed over taking care of bb, c-sect wound pain, engorgement pain, not enuf sleep, etc. But my hubby is supportive enuf to come over to my mum's place (i'm doing confinement at my mum's place which is far from my place) whenever he can to help take care of bb. Also thanks to my brother & sister's help. If not, i think i will also hv suicidal thoughts. Now i'm taking things at my stride. Just do watever i can, 1 step at a time.

dee: Talk about constant nursing. Mine demanded for nursing every half hour today from 3pm to 6.30pm. I nurse until want to cry liao. (T_T)

Juz: Milk cannot be too cold. Should at least be a little above room temperature. Cold milk can cause wind leh.

Hope Lavendry feels better soon. The nite feeds can really be quite destressing. Not enough sleep plus wound...poor dear. Maybe dun give herself so much pressure? Feed one or two FM at night if her wound is not healed yet...

Phyl: Maternal hormones as in our residual hormones left in the baby... not like because we got bad skin so baby got bad skin mah. Like the tai(1) du(2) (literally birth poison)... will take time to surface and clear one. Dun be too upset. Cannot be helped one. *patz patz*

ivy, little is how little?? y wanna throw away?? Keep in the fridge lar. Once the BM within the same day is of same temperature, u can mix them together leh.. mabbe wil be enuf for 1 feed leh. don't waste. bm is like gold now..haha

so i take out all together...let it cool in room temp then mix together?or i can just add on to the one in the fridge then later just keep in fridge again....

wat i did was pump in bottle, store in fridge. if later i pump again say got 30ml, i will also store in fridge. Abt 2 hrs later, i will mix the 30ml into the earlier pumped milk and then warm up for bb.. remember, if u keep milk in fridge, only can be kept for 48hrs!

I go to the PD just the block next to my house. Dr Lim of Kidslink Bedok branch. Always got alot of parents see her. Where you stay? Kidslink got several branches at Choa Chu Kang, Jurong East, Punggol, Sembawang & Sengkang also.

If you think your BB is feeling sick, meaning he is not eating well or not as active as his usual self. Or he is having fever now, then best not to wait till morning and see PD. You can go KKH emergency. Hopefully at this wee hour, the queue is not long.

Otherwise you can go to polyclinic, they can do a simple blood test on him to test his jaudice level.

No one is born to be a mother. The motherly instinct that we have only give us the strength to prevail through all motherhood hardship. It certainly din magically turn us into super mum. We all need to learn. Dun be discouraged and feel stressed. I agree with emeraldbride, the more stressed you are, the more your BB will cause problem. Imagine if your BB cry, you cry due to stress. It will make your BB cry even more. I also feel stressed during my BB 1st month. The method I used is to find out the source of my stress. So I solve the root of the problem and now things are getting better. Perhaps you can give it a thought what is the real reason that is causing you stress.

Your MIL? Ask your hubby to deal with it. It's his mum afterall. Dunno how to take care of BB? Get help from professional and fellow mums. Milk supply? Just do your best will do.

Always remember to ask your hubby for support, be it asking him to take care of BB or just emotional support. He also got a share in BB. Dun suffer alone. Drag him down as well. Haha.. I am the evil wife.

I also shared the same experience as you. When my girl was doing her 1st week checkup, she had to be admitted to hospital due to jaundice for 3D2N and I cried so hard. During the 1st 2 weeks, I got so emotional that I kept on crying, lucky my hubby knocked some sense on me. If not, I sure kena depression.

It took me much effort to get up from bed after the c-section op and the wound hurts for 2weeks plus. Now is much better but still can sense the stretch there if movement too big. I am gald tat my mum and hubby helped me a lot during the 1 month confinement.

Now I am coping super hard with the baby alone at home and she is so scared and keep on crying & struggling when I moved back to my hse. Is there any way to stop this?

Ur BB just moved back to your house? She stayed at where previously? Perhaps you can try to make her environment similar to that of the previous place cause BB need security. Like same bed or musical. Jiayou!!

For mum who go for natural birth and still suffer pain at bottom area, perhaps you can try New Mama Bottom Spray from Mom Essentials, about $40 plus. KKH got 1, nearby The Private Suite. My gynae strongly recommend it to me. It is cooling mist for postpartum perineal swelling, vaginal soreness, episotomy and hemorrhoid. So I dun feel so sore down there. Sorry, forgot about this. Should have inform earlier since a few of you are suffering tear down there.

Juz, I onli use up less than 1/4 of the bottle. Feel like passing it to Lavendery to ease her pain. Where she staying?

BTW any mum want chicken or fish essence? I got 4 packs of 6 at home. Gift from friends and relatives but I dun take. So quite a waste.

juz, can take pao shen but i not sure abt chong cao powder. My confinement lady boil pao shen with kampung chicken after my 12th day of confinement. She alternate between this and chicken essence. Chicken essence is so much nicer!! I must learn how to make it so that when she leave, i can make it for myself and hubby...

marilyn, good to keep ur elder boy away for a time being since u hv bb at home! Better be safe than sorry. Sumtimes dun understand y parents like to keep all these away from others. I heard alot of such cases from my colleague. Alr know their children are sick fr fever or cough or flu, shuld keep them away from childcare but instead because of their own work commitment, they still send their kids to childcare and end up spreading viruses to everyone and parents are then barred from entering the centre.. shake head!

Adeline, is good that Bryan finally have some rhythm to his day and night time feed! It will get better as he grows olders. I suppose this will serve as a good motivation to the rest of the mummies that are so stressed abt feeding their bb's every 2-3hrs at nite..hehe
