2nd baby - u can squeeze some lemon juice on it, leave it a while den wipe off, e rust area will come out.

јëss - I was discharged on the 28th nov, the nurse also told me to return within 14 days for the birth cert reg. So i returned on the 5th dec, went to the information counter near the lift at the lobby to find out where is the reg counter but was told by the cust service officer that the counter was already closed since 1st dec. I made a wasted trip there and head straight to the ICA instead. But dun worry, there's no queue at all at the ICA.

Maybe can try calling Gleneagles to check again? hope I was not given the wrong info at all.

2.00pm - was shopping at Robinson/OG Orchard then suddenly felt heavy watery discharge with blood, at first tot it was water bag leaking but after a while it stopped then i juz went back home instead of continue my shopping

2.30pm - 1st contraction felt after back from toilet, started to count the timing... it came every 10mins, however each contraction was quite short, hubby asked me to go hospital but i wanted to wait n see first
3.30am - the interval getting closer now.. which less than 10 mins each, so decided to go hospital now... did last min packing
3.50am - left home & went for Mcdonald's to buy chesseburger, wanna get sth to eat b4 admitted to hospital
4.20am - Reached hospital.. contraction getting more n more intense & closer, happened each 5 mins
4.40am - checked into labour ward, midwife came & performed VE, and informed me that i was already 6cm dilated, so might be too late to opt for epi... the moment i heard that i really freaked out manz... i 'begged' her to call anaethetist immediately coz i dun wan to giv birth w/o epi... she told me i should hav come into hospital as soon as contraction started! i was also not given enema to clear bowel coz midwife said that she dun wan me to 'give birth' in toilet...
5.10am - Anaethetist came & administered epi
5.30am - contraction still can felt, so asking nurse to increase dosage but seem useless
6.00am - 8cm dilated now but baby head still very high... contraction pain was now getting stronger & longer...
6.30am - the contraction pain was so unbearable now, asking for dosage increase again but was told already max... Max??? shit... the epi was not helping at all !! the nurse then trying to pinch my tigh & arm very hard & i told her no different at all coz my lower part of body had never gone into numbness even from the moment the epi was injected, seems like nothing she could do now & juz asked me to try to push when i hav the strong urge so can 'push' the baby down asap, coz she can only call gynae when bb is down...
7.00am - started to roll in the bed when each contraction came in, i even 'bang' on the side wooden bedrail coz i was too painful !! hubby saw me in deep pain so kept asking the nurse when the gynae will be coming in...
7.30am - gynae finally came in... i was given 'local anaethetist' injection at down there then performed episiotomy & i was too pain to feel it...
7.49am - after 2 push my baby finally made his appearance & all the contraction pain stopped on the spot...

what a 'nightmare', i told my hubby i would not want to giv birth anymore... i never expect my delivery will turn out to be like tat coz my previous labour with epi was quite 'painless'! ... so i ended up hav severe back pain... and the pain is even worse than my stiches pain at vagina!

2nd baby,
I also using the rapid sterilizer. I also tot is rust but it is not. Actually is limescale deposit. You have to squeeze half a lemon into it and let it soak for 30mins. Then you can see the deposit all come out. Have to clean by this method weekly..

today went to doctor to remove the blue thread hehe. The doc just did one pull and the blue thread is out. Heng not in time to feel pain..
Btw he ask me to take out the plaster myself after 1 wk. Is it the same for you both?

2nd baby: You can also use vinegar to remove the rust.

Add the vinegar in & run your sterilizer for one cycle. The rust will come out...

Spag: I only pump out my BM...don't latch baby anymore. I also feed on demand in a way...cos my boy will wake up looking for milk.

Mimi: Yep, TBF babies will poo more...and their poo is mustard yellow & like egg-yolk texture.

Mommies...how often does your baby wake up for milk? I give Preston 80ml per feed but he wakes up for another feed in another 2 or 2.5 hours. Is it normal? Is 80ml for a 13-day-old baby ok?

Just came back fr my gynae appt today. Was disappointed and sad that i can't hv natural delivery. Gynae did a VE for me and found that my cervix is not dilated. Since i'm at full term today, and for my age he doesn't recommend to induce as the success rate will be abt 10-20% and i may end up with emergency c-sect. And he also doesn't think that i shld wait for another week as the placenta may start to age anytime now. So the obvious option is to do a c-sect. So we scheduled for a GA c-sect on thursday. Gotta admit hospital on tml after 10pm.

Jolynash - Are your c-sect stitches dissolvable?

Fabbie/2nd baby,

The brand is Batiste , quite good for me , feel my hair is clean and dry after spraying and brushing. If not how to tahan not to wash for 1 whole mth. My first confinement I oso use the same spray. It's bought in the chinese med hall. I will spray on alternate day, quite cooling one and nice smell too.

BM: I do mix my EBM from different pumping time.

fabbie, one of the mummy PM me and told me to squeeze some lemon juice mixed wif a bit of water to sterilize, then use the lemon to rub on the metal, that will remove the rust totally. Merydith and Pris, thanks for the info.

Spag, u can buy medela breast shield. I find it very useful when I latch my girl, the other side will be leaking and the shield can hold the leaking milk, then u can pour into bottle.

i think i bought too many packs of maternity pads...now i am using normal pads already...

just now only manage to pump 40ml from both sides!!so little...how to go fully on BM.....
i am still mix feeding...so scared later baby not enough to drink if i go fully on BM.

the waiting list is getting lesser....after new year we should all bring our babies out!!!

ehh...just to check & confirm...even with "show" can still wait a while rite?? i.e monitor & see how/ got contractions or not rite..??

this afternoon had slight reddish discharge when i went toilet..then no more..but when I reach home, found more reddish discharge...been monitoring for an hr..no feeling of contractions yet...

fong2 - no, mine not dissolvable. Going back to dr chew this thurs to remove stitch. What you going thru is exactly what he told me. 10 to 20% if induced.

Jess - Congrats to u!

2nd Baby - Think its a month to reg the birth cert but if you wanna to go back to the hospital to reg then it must be within 2 weeks after you've delivered. Hope i'm not wrong.

i call liao, my gyn is away only back tom, its a coverer gyn which i spoke too.....doc says monitor for contration, if got, go straight to hosp..cos till now i dun feel any contractions...

& also ask me monitor baby movement...baby's still moving & kicking..so shd be okie??

think i will go see my gyn tom morn liao..

Jolynash - Initially Dr Chew did ask me if i still wanna try inducing after he told me the low successful rate. But he did warn me that if induction not successful i may end up very tired and wif emergency c-sect. After much consideration we think it's best to c-sect altho i feel very disappointed. He actually wanted me to admit this evening to c-sect, but we think it's too hurry. So this afternoon i had my last feast, at least to comfort my mood abit..

Read that your gal poopoo already..such a relief right? Actually, since the baby is still so young, there's no pattern yet so can expect no poo days but i'll also worry when that happens. The last time i checked, i was advised that so long as baby seems comfortable, we should not worry.

me too... my lochia was nvr heavy leh... only the first 3 dayd... i still haven't finish the 2 packs tt KKH gave... sigh.. wonder wat to do...

Ivy, i pump less than that leh.... but i only gave FM at night... n he manage to sleep well...

you can try increasing the amount of feed to see if baby wants/needs more..but be sure not to end up force-feeding. What i normally do is let baby drink his fill, then he'll either not want to suck anymore or push out the teat, then he'd be burped. After burping, we try again. If he wants more, we continue.

For my first child i was super stressed that baby is not feeding regularly on timing every 2-3hrs. This time around we do strict demand feeding only. Realise that my baby will drink 50ml, snooze 1.5hrs, then another 50ml and snooze anywhere between 3-5hrs. So much easier and stress-free this time around.

Me too! Took epi but still felt alot! Only my left side went numb, my right side was damn painful..Could feel contractions, stitching, cleaning up.... I guess epi is not always 100% ah..always thought that it was.

Fong2, mine too not dilated and am near full term. Btw, dilating has a factor to do with age?? Do u mind to share how old u r? Any reason to undergo GA instead of epidural+csect? I dun want to forego the chance of natural of birth so mentally am prepared to emergency c-sect if I really do not dilate.

Ikeike - according to my gynae, if u r still in your 20s, chances of successful induction is higher. I'm 33 this yr, and today is my edd (40 weeks). That's y he reckon that chances of successful induction is abt 10-20% nia. He did say that i can try inducing but then in the event that if induction not successful, i may hv to suffer twice and end up very tired (cos no food and drinks allowed). I opt for GA as i dun want to suffer fr the side effects of epi and also i dun think i hv to courage to feel the tugging sensation.

you all dun feel pain when passing motion? i heard they say cannot squeeze so hard if not the stitches will tear. i did pass motion on 5th day lol till now if i pass motion i can stay in toliet for half an hr. cus i heard cannot squeeze too much if not the stitches will split!

ask u all... i could feel tat both my breast quite full since yesterday but when i try to pump out, i only get less than 10ml for both side!!! how come huh? i've been trying to latch on / pump for whole day but so little came out only, pathetic ler, no wonder my bb kept looking for milk every hour la, so tired...

looking at my condition, is it blocked dust or wat? i can feel a bit hard here & there when i pressed on my breast ler, what's that?

Here presenting Little Gerrard Liew!

Here is the birth story:

1230am: reach Mt A delivery suite
0100: go to delivery room and nurse put in the pill to open my cervix. 1cm dilate n put on CTG.
0200: send to ward to rest.
0700: have light breakfast n was insert to clean bowel
0830: ask to go to delivery ward
0915: Dr normal arrived..burst my water bag and i was 2cm dilate n told me that i will delivered by 4pm.
1000: was put on IV to help me to feel contraction.
1030: Contractions was here...
1050: Midwife ask if i want injection on thigh or Epid? I ask for laughing gas n injection since there is a long wait to go...3cm dilate
1105: Injection was given..
1115: Contractions was intense...have the urge to push..told hb i need epi! Midwife say cannot...cos the effect has yet kick in..
1125: I did a push..and midwife saw the opening..quickly call dr
1140: Dr arrived..and ask me to push...after 3-4 push..
1153: Little Gerrard was presented!! I was so relieved that it was over!

Last nite was the 1st nite back home w little Gerrard....n he create chaos...my hb took care of him till this morning as we did decide to give him FM after we saw him no poo n no pee for the whole of ytd even b4 discharge...n he finish the whole bottle of FM of 90ml when we reach home...immediately...we sense the urgency n quickly go got FM...n he manage to poo poo 3x times!! Luckily this whole week my hb is on leave...else i will crazy..n both bb n dad r sleeping....while my both breasts got v harden..dunno if it is engorgement..i dun dare to latch liao..after ytd little Gerrard make my right nipple bleed...now both nipples a bit feeling sore...guess i will be using EBM and FM for him...managed to pump out 20ml for one side..total 40ml..can i know how freq must i EBM? how many hours?
