if i hav contractions or pain b4 1st dec, dr ask mi try VBAC. she quite keen abt it. baby 3kg at 38wks. tis sat will be 39wks le. c how it goes. abit scare of VBAC. don wan emergency c-sect again.

phyl, funny lar..it could be tat the labia is no longer being protected by the bushes previously and now tat it has been cleared, ur undies prob push the labia to one side, so causing ur urine to go wrong direction..u get wat i mean?? hahaha

Hi ladies,
Just wondering, is it possible to go into labour when bb have not engaged? Coz I've been getting more stomach cramps these days (36W4D) but at last visit during 36W, bb not engaged yet.

Anybody can advise?

What if i go into labour now ah? Dr not ard rite? Dunno who is covering for him. I havent even get my strep b test results! Panic!

Heard of a horror story where the mommy's womb rupture while trying VBAC.. the bb is >3kg. Stop here.. better not scare you further.

i hav read stories of uterine rupture as well. tt's y abit fear as i even heard of mummies who lose their babies.

reali gotta hav a lot of trust in ur dr to do VBAC i guess. i trust my dr to make d right decision. if needed e-op, den no choice. safer for mi n baby. =)

i was tinking of kushinbo as well. mayb go eat tmr. hehe.

I just came back from my 39W visit. Baby still hasn't popped yet..

My doctor is on leave, so had to see a substitute doctor, Dr Beh. He was nice but didn't really do anything la. Just asked if everything is okay and did a scan for me. BB is estimated to be 3.4kg this week. But last week, my doctor's machine estimated bb to be 3kg. Dunno if bb is growing so quickly or is it that different machines give different estimates.

Anyway I'm trying not to stress so much about when I'm going to give birth. I'm also learning to cope better with the boredom at home. Trying to tahan my foot swelling and go out a bit more. At least it will make me feel better, even if I have to put up with the discomfort after that. Thanks to everyone who gave me such encouraging words

i will c my gynae this sat. then gynae will decide when to induce. this week i m at week 37 liao...can feel bb pressing towards the pubic bone area at nights. n i oso feel tenderness around the pubic bone area.

For the brazilian wax and peeing, I also will kena my thighs.. Haha!! Yeah quite disgusting.. But after the first few days, somehow the pee will kuai kuai aim properly one!! Haha!! =) Yeah I agree better than do any exercise unless u have gone through with some expert... If not might end up more jialat...

At the moment, still dun mind having bb in me.. But when I'm not busy and start thinking of my bb, I really want to hold her in my arms, smell her and smother her with kisses!! Hehe!! =)

I'm also having increase pelvis pressure.. feel like peeing but very little urine come out and I'm starting to waddle!! Everytime, I see my doc, she keeps asking me whether I'm already waddling.. Wondering whether bb has engaged or not..

Ade, oh ok. Cos I tot I heard nurse telling yr hb at the clinic that they issue 3 months first.

I bought the carton of pigeon wipes (6 packs * 82) at People Park. There are many shops selling this but priced differently. The cheapest I found is $18.60. Tom and Stef (WestMall) and Kiddy Palace do sell, priced at $19.90.

hi mummies, finally got time to come bk here..

i still trying to post de pic...will get hubby to help ltr.

my adventure..
9am went toilet...n realise "water leak"...
was wondering urine incontinence at such early stage??? happen a couple of times then after. Suspect water bag leak cum de show.
Further self observation-stomach cramp/pain @ every 10-20mins interval

10am shower, took breakfast n make my way to gynea's clinic

11am CTG taken, contractions at 10min interval with 1 cm dilation only. gynea told me to go shop shop n walk walk n report at delivery suite at 12.30pm

so went for my last minute shopping, while hubby went home to pick up my hospital bag...

1pm Report at delivery suite. CTG n drip ready. Nurse went thru list of questions. Contractions remains far apart.

2pm "synthesis" added to Drip to induce regular contraction. bb not engage yet.

4pm contractions becomes closer n unbearable w/o any painkiller. still 1cm dilation. (cannot believe it, pain not equal to dilation, after so much pain, no progress)
have to drop initial plan of no Epi b'cos it's becoming so painful but still no further dilation.

430pm Anesthetic came in. given 1st jab to numb de back. now becomes contraction pain n needle pains.

catheter placed in, very pain, my spine was slightly swollen so have to redo it again..Finally done n de solution send a strong pain to de right hip bone.
was shivering, but 15min later de contraction pain subsided greatly.

5.30pm Nurse says low Epi dosage so can still feel the contraction pain. was told to move de leg to prevent it from numb. 5cm dilated, so happy to hear this good new.

7pm 10 plus dilated, bb quite low now cannot push yet cos gynea in OT...need to wait for her.

730pm Gynea came. getting ready to PUSH.

745pm BB's arrival.

........................

I suspect my bb was induced by sex, hee hee, so can try if no patience to wait.

mummies with severe water retention,

Don't get upset..must try to rest more now, last time i shared i had severe water retention, n then it lead to High BP. then after delivery, still got slight water retention. it will go off but not immediately after birth. according to my gynea.

Taking ML earlier
I actually hesitating should i take ML n stay home earlier to rest my pig trotter because it's becoming very tough to walk.but then i heartache de PH will be forfeited. But nvr to expect bb wants to get out so soon, so ML no matter wat now.

My hospital bag is like so empty, i really dunno what to pack..hahaha and baby's cot is in a mess, cos whenever i come back from shopping spree, i will put the stuff in bb's cot! Hahaha, a temp storage area.

LATEST BREAKING NEWS *XIAO POOH's BUNDLE OF JOY*

Xiao Pooh is our first graduate who had natural birth WITHOUT epidurial (WOOOOHOOOOO!). She only took laughing gas cos she was already super dilated by the time her labour pains came in! (So lucky!)

Little Jermaine arrived at around 12 noon plus and has a healthy weight of 2.75kg (xiao pooh notes it's quite far off fr the doc's estimate of 3.2kg). She will be updating us with her little angel's photo soon!

Din see u at Robinsons. But I bought my Clarins stuff thou (Pocket pijia liao). The selection of nursery stuff at Robinson Raffles City is quite pitiful. Dun think I will go for the close door Robinson members sale this evening (starting from 6.30pm to 11pm).

i also didn't really think about what to pack for my hospital bag.. thought a change of clothes and bb's clothes and admin letter enough liao.. shouldn't be that bad, i guess..

the rest of the things, ie marriage cert, $$, etc.. hubby's job!

my mouth also itchy.. feel like eating JUNK FOOD these days!

Phyl, so u must be like Xiao Pooh... drag n drag till dilate more than 5cm then onie rush to hospital cos by the time reach hosp alr 7cm dilate..gynae say epi will not be administered if dilated more than 8cm liao..hahaha

recently all my colleagues telling me their birth story and i realised everyone take epi wor.. hmm.. i damn ti ki la.. keke.. but now i say lor.. maybe my turn i will beg for it! keke

Bb 'breathe' thru umbilical cord, not thru' nose in the womb.
Perhaps the movement that some mommies can feel is the bb's heartbeat.

I have delivered! Haha!

EDD was supposedly on 5 Dec 2008, but I popped on 25 Nov 2008.

I think my previous particulars have gone missing in the current chart, so here goes:

Weight : 3.99 kg, Length : 52 cm
Delivery Method : Natural w/ Epi

Birth story:
- Went to see gynae on 22 Nov (Sat), and registered weight loss (1 kg - weighing in at 81.1kg!!)
- Gynae told me to visit him again on 25 Nov (Tues) to reassess and if I did not gain any weight, he'll have to check my cervix and make decision.
- Nov 25, 2008 :
9plus in the morning - saw gynae, gained only 0.4kg. He assessed my cervix, dilated at 1.5cm. He told me to go and admit for delivery. So I went ahead with it (hubby not with me, cos we did not expect to be today - only MIL with me. No hospital bag... only have admission letter with me!)
11am - Gynae broke my waterbag, put me on drip (3cm dilated)
3plus in the afternoon - Still 3cm dilated (without epi). Very disappointed and contractions very frequent and hurts real bad!!! Epi administered (what a relief!) at around that time.
4plus in the afternoon - 5cm dilated. Gynae was saying if by another 4 hours not 10 cm dilated, I have to c-sec! So I told my bb that better not make me waste my $$ to have the epi, only to go for c-sec!
6pm - "The show" came on! I was fully dilated and Keith was delivered at 1844hrs!

Phew! Never expected him to be 3.99kg (anther 10gm and he is 4kg!!).

Now still in hospital, only to discharge tomorrow. Doing breast feeding, but I think I have too little milk at this time and as Keith is big, he needs more. So I am getting the nurse to feed him formula milk (another 10ml) with spoon every time I breast feed him (every 3 hours for 1 hour - half hour each side). So tied.... And I cannot sleep at night (as usual)....

That's my story! So my advice - Take the epi (I wanted to go without initially, but too painful and patience wore out as dilation was too slow).
