sam, if u going zoo tmr, is ur hb going with u? Else dun tink u shuld go lar..later if u're really 'lucky' and ur bb decided to pop, wat will u do with ur kids?? Next day newspaper front page "Preggy woman drives herself to KKH with 3 kids in tow"...hehehe. Try to rest more ok. Did u see ur gynae?

Jappooh, no more annual leave? If too tired, no choice take unpaid leave lor.. for me, i got 2 more weeks to go, so i hv to persevere on..though now i can feel that my eyes is getting so swollen that it actually hurts!!

hi emeralbride,
i still have my this yr leave. I am clearing my 3 days last yr leave this 2 wks loh. I try to minise use of my this yr leave so i can bring forward to next yr to have more time with my baby loh. If i really cant tong i will still take lar. No choice.

I was feeling tired due to the long travelling time from hm to work. Cos i take abt 1.15hrs to 1.5hrs to reach loh. Now cant walk too fast also. Plus i need to keep my boy company after i reach hm so cant rest much.

Wow... So many posts which I missed! Was feeling so lazy over the weekend, I went back to zzz at 12 noon n only woke up at 4plus. Like Emeraldbride, me feeling sluggish most of e time.

I wonder if the nurses will only come in for patients staying in single rooms only. My neighbour said no nurse came to help her with breast feeding although she requested...

But i will definetely be nice to the nurses lah.

Thanks, I love the giraffes too! They are from Wee Gallery - I bought them from a BP. They were quite expensive though. I think almost $60-70 for the whole set? But still cheaper than those from Wink (the Singapore company), so at least not that bad la.

Yah, you'd better stay at home. Our EDDs are just one day apart, and my gynae thinks I could deliver before the end of Nov. Somemore you always have a history of fast labour. Better not to go to the zoo.

I have about 9 pcs of nursing bras. Before pregnancy, I was a 36B/C. I bought 6 nursing bras in 36C and 3 pcs in 36D. Thought to have different sizes, in case I get really big during the engorgement phase.

I think the zoo ppl will just cry ... first the tiger mauling and now this .. hahahhaa. I'm seeing my gynae on Wed. hope she says I should be able to tahan till the 3rd.

if I'm at home and my contractions start .. I will be driving myself down .. it takes me 20 min to drive there ... if I wait for my hubby .. it'll be 20 min for him to come back and another 20 min to get there ... die la!!

Did your doc hook you up to the CTG machine? Is that how he knows you're hvng contactions?

I've been having BH but around 2wks+, had bad cramps accompanied with backache. Gynae said sounded like contractions but never check thru CTG.. So far, back to normal BH (see..so used to it already that can call it 'normal'! haha)

My gynae is estimating that I will deliver soon, because of my pre-labour symptoms. But you are right, we can never really tell when bb is going to pop out. But I hope it will be soon, cos I'm on ML already, so don't want to waste too much of my leave staying at home doing nothing.

Apparently, if the bra is fitted correctly, the underwire shouldn't be pressing on any milk ducts. But I will play safe and not get any underwired bra. In fact, throughout my pregnancy, I have already stopped using any underwire, because it got too uncomfortable!

I will be going for my c-section this coming Thursday becos my baby girl is not developing well (base on normal baby schedule)... So my doc is suggesting me to take out early in order not to stress my baby. He is concern that if my baby continue to stay in the womb, baby may get ill...

my bras are from mums in mind n perfect mum. those from perfect mum hav soft underwire which is ok. don get those from spring maternity. veri hard n painful. bought them during 1st preg n end up throwing them away.

haha.. go IKEA la.. weekdays not so packed so can stroll through slowly and rest whenever you feel like it.
Eh, saw your blog.. Emily looks like she lost quite a bit of weight.

Me will probably wait for husband to come home since his office is only about 10mins away by bike. But if raining, will take cab la.. see how.. KKH parking charges are horrible. Plus if i drive there, and husband rides there, effectively the car will be stuck at the carpark...then how's my son supposed to come see me and his baby brother?

I will be delivering at TMC.. Currently I am 37weeks 2 days and my baby weight is 2.26kg nia... Did 2 CTGs already and the baby heartbeat is ok and fine.

I'd wanted to do perineal massage but my gynae wasn't very supportive. Said that we can try but she hasn't known it to be particularly effective. We were supposed to have started at 35W but I got a yeast infection which took 2 weeks to clear up. And I'd read that we shouldn't do perineal massage if we are having an infection, in case we cause the bacteria to spread around even more. And now, I'm almost 38 weeks but still haven't started yet. Feel like it's a bit late to do it now.

YA LOR!! Poor girl only weighs 14.5kg. DUnno how much exactly she's lost but she looks and feels lighter .. my poor baby. Thankfully her appetite is back and she'll regain the weight lost.

ya, we'll have the same issue if I drive to KKH .. hubby will have to come home, dump his bike here and take public transport to KK. I thought KK parking charges ok what .. per min. TMC and Mt A more ex rite? Anyway. i'm really praying it'll happen on a weekend or at least in the evening or early morning when he's around then won't have a headache with the car being stuck in KKH.

ya I heard that perineal massage not much of a use .. the best is to really listen to the gynae and nurses when they ask you to push or to STOP pushing ... very very important. No matter how supple that area is .. if you just push the baby out anyhow, sure massive tearing ... u must really control and not push anyhow. that's the best way.

For me, for all my pregnancies, when the gynae says "stop pushing" or "push just a bit" or "push slowly" I ignore my urge to just push and listen to their instructions ... that's how I can end up with no episiotomies all 3 times.

but it's very hard .. the urge to just get it over and done with is very strong ... but if you think about the tear and later stitching that you will have to deal with ... better to just listen to the gynae.

Echo: I'm turning 37 weeks in a couple of days. I read from websites that perineal massage can start from 34 weeks onwards. I wonder if it's also effective if i start...really want to avoid horrific tearing if possible.

Fabbie: Put more oil/cream? My gynae told me sometimes stretchmarks appear around 37 or 38 weeks onwards. Recently i keep scruntinising my belly!

i also worried that stretch mark will appear ard 37 to 38 weeks cos most of my frens do not have stretch mark till the last week of their pregnancy..so now hv to be diligent in showering using cold water - so that skin will be taut and tight and then slap on more oil / cream and then body cream again..hahahaha

Funshine, dun worry okay.. i m sure ur gynae knows wat is he doing so ur bb will be in good hands!

I was doing 5 mins stimulation, 1 min break and repeat. (total of 15 mins stimulation). This has to be done every 3 hourly. It works, thanks to Mrs Wong and I really dun know what I'll do without her constant encouragement

my gynae got "magic" hands, he touch n feel only! hahaha... he oreadi put me on CTG last Sat (8 Nov), during which there is no sign of contractions. but on 15 Nov, he touch my tummy and immediately told me im having contraction wor... oso did VE as he wan to c if my cervice open or not. hmm.. i must say i dun really like VE (anyway, who does?!).

I also did hear tat e perinal massage is really not as effective as it claims to be. It is a known fact that most Asian girls are not so strechable so we tend to tear. Tat's y most women hv to go for e epitosmy? I remember wincing when Mrs Wong demo to us how the bb will come out if we push e bb out like a cannon ball...

emeraldbride: I heard cannot shower using cold water. Heard it will trigger contractions wor. Will led to early delivery leh.

At the same time, my friend said she read up from somewhere thatwe also cannot shower using hot water (more than 37deg), will led to birth adnormalities..
