Feedback on Confinement Food Catering
Natal Essentials vs Newbaby, taken their trial meal on 27 Sep dinner and 1 Oct dinner respectively.
I will be going for Natal Essentials, 28 days lunch only, coz...
1) Natal Essentials serving is good for 2 meals, so i order lunch, eat half and save the other half for dinner. Newbaby portion is small, good for 1 pax who is really hungry and have good appetite; not good for 2 pax or 2 meals.
2) Natal Essentials comes in disposable microwavable plastic containers like any other plastic containers which u take away food from foodcourt. The plastic containers are put into a warmer bag and the warmer bag needs to return to them when they next come to send u food. disposable plastic containers can just throw after eating. Newbaby uses tupperware containers & a metal container for the soup. They expect u to wash the containers for them and pack into the big plastic box so that the next time they come, they can collect. that means have to do dishes and worse is, hard to remove the greasiness from tupperware, i have washed many rounds with much detergent and water... and "surrender" coz i can't remove the excessive greasy feeling off the tupperware. i think if i were to do confinement alone, i have no mood to wash several containers which can't get grease off.
3) If u r a soup lover, go for natal essentials, can really taste that they put in effort and time to boil their soup. Newbaby one tastes so blend, my hb said it's like adding oil into water and the black chicken is not tender at all, indicating that it's not cooked long enough.
4) temperature for natal essentials food is still hot when delivered, coz it was delivered like near 5pm... newbaby food is already cold when delivered, as they delivered abt 7pm. the delivery timing will depend on ur house location. but since natal essentials will come in warmer bag, i supposed it will be warmer than the big big plastic box which newbaby food comes in.
5) natal essentials food is more daring in putting "herbals", newbaby one is trying to save "herbals".
6) newbaby is less oily (more blend) and not as tasty as natal essentials.
7) newbaby a bit redunctant, they provide normal non-disposable plastic soup spoon, chopsticks and a pc of serviette (of coz u must wash the spoon and chopsticks for them)... well, every household should already have soup spoon and chopsticks.
8) spending $30 on both trial meals each, i think natal essentials worth that $30 and newbaby worth abt $10, based on the portion, ingredients used, the "confinement specialty" compared to normal tingkat, taste, time and effort for preparing the food. in terms of packahe prices, yes, newbaby is cheaper but it may not be that worth it if u evaluate the overall.
above is just my personal opinion, pls don't quote me or hold me accountable for my comments. best is to get trial meal to see ur preference before investing hundreds or thousand odd...
