Hi mummies!
So difficult to log in and post coz the internet connection at my office kept dropping..
Congratulations Fifi! Rest well.
Lynn,
I've read your posts on B. actually i can understand how you feel coz i'm going thru the same anxiety as you are. I've recently brought my boy to the CDU in KKH and the doc have interviewed me regarding my son. and eventually, he mentioned that my boy mite be a borderline case of autism.
But when I asked the doc what is the appropriate age to diagnose a child on whether he/she is autistic, he says,' between 2 to 2.5 years of age'. then i con't to ask him,'but my son is only 1 year and 9 months, how can the diagnosis be accurate?' the doc then say,' that's why i say MIGHT BE a borderline case. anyway, you can't do anything much even if I tell you that your son is really autistic right?'
I was so pissed off tat moment but as a mother, i still went on to sign up for workshops to get some help for D. thus, i went for a workshop where they engcouraged me to put D into some early intervention centres, they called it EIPIC and i have already signed up for D and the waiting time is about 3 months. at the same time,i still let D go for playgroup sessions on weekends. I have seen some improvement in him since he attended playgroup in May this year. Now I'm hoping that he'll really catch up with his peers.
Be positive and dun let this get you down. your child will be stressed if you are stressed yourself. they can sense it. being happy and being positive will help in our child's development definitely. Jia you!
