Maternity leave.... Carol, tats gd idea.
However i dun tink my company allow the last 4 wks leave to b split up. So now trying to save up AL so tat can put to gd use later.

BTW, normally preggies go on leave how many wks before EDD? Dunno if i can still take public transport after wk 37 not... I think already feel scary.

The myth abt boy boy make you look ugly not true de. My sis when she pregnant with gal, her nose swell until like pig lay, but when she have boy, her face no change lor. But I think the belly one quite true, cause when my sis have boy, her belly very round compared to gal.

I am also thinking of taking HL from Dr Woody nearer to my EDD. Want to try and save my Maternity leave as much as possible...keke...

I hope my co. will allow me to split up my last 4 weeks of maternity leave....convincing my boss is easy, but convincing my old maid's supervisor is the difficult one...haiz..

Can drink orange juice? I thought oranges will cause phlegm in the baby? Sigh, now I don't dare to eat many fruits. Only limit to apples (which I'm really sick of now) and honey dew, oh and grapes. Not many choices.

I tell you all, I become this super superstitious woman now. Sigh. Just now, for no reason, the holder where I place all my scans suddenly drop! No reason at all! I see it as a bad sign lei. Now super worried. Sigh. Argh. Now I can't wait till my next scan this Friday.
 
karen, saw your question directed to haru about whether can drink orange juice. I think no problem leh...those are old wives' tale that u can't take orange juice.

For my 1st preg, i took oranges and watermelon almost everyday and still my baby was perfectly fine with no phlegm. She is very healthy for a baby and only fell sick once when she was 3 mths old. Other than that, she's not been sick and she's reaching 16 mths soon.

to be super superstitious is quite common amongst preggers lah...hee hee but i'm sure u are just overly superstitious. Your baby will be all fine.

i think a balance and moderation of everything is good. basically all fruits and veges are good in its own way, as long as its consumed in moderate amt. sometimes i think its all in e mind. if u look at the other countries like e westerners they tend to take almost everything too. dun worry too much okie?=>
 
hello mummies,

Went for my check up yesterday and did the NT test. Due to my age, the risk of down syndrome is 1:142 but when they measure baby's neck thickeness, the adjusted risk is 1:569 which is good news. We still have the option to do the amniotic fluid test but me and hubby decided against it since we both agreed that even if baby is down or have any abnormalities, we will still continue with the pregnancy.

Measurements of baby:-
Ultrasound gestation: 12.4 wks
Crown rump length: 6.2cm
Nuchal (thickness of neck): 1.8mm
Fetal heart rate: 162 beats per min

The only think I have to look out for is spotting as I have low lying placented. Gynae says that placenta will move as baby grows so meanwhile to KIV. Other than that, everything is great. Baby was very active throughout the scan, waving the hand, kicking the legs. Baby's nose bone was very prominent. Hopefully will have the daddy's nose and not my flat nose. Will see gynae in another 4 wks time. Thank God everything is fine.

me went to get breakfast tis morning with mum only to realize that my tire flat..end up gota drive slowly to petrol station, pump air then rush to workshop to get the tyre air leak fixed.what a morning! *sweat* thank God for my dad who helped me if nt i'll be helpless..=P just had a bowl of laksa, now busy with laundry.got a few loads to do today!!

Preg still can eat oranges etc? what if get cough? MIL stopped me eating oranges in case i get bad cough!!!

Gynea prescribed Fish oil for me from this month......Very awful when burp...smell of fish jumping out from stomach!! Hiaz..........

Anyone of you taking Fish oil supplements too? very costly.........

Enne, I also eat laksa lei (1 of my fav). They use coconut milk mah, not the juice which is too cooling for us lah.

ya, i somehow enjoy eating laksa now. i also had some coconut juice and sugar cane juice e last 2 weekends, weather too hot. but limit to one cup, dun wana overload on sugar intake. =P

btw, if u want 3D, u can opt for a gynae who offers 3D in his package. Eg my gynae's package includes 3D/4D scans... so every visit from wk20, u will get a 3D pic if baby is cooperative... u can see the features

my tummy stil remains relatively flat in the mornings but by midday its all round and bloated. looking forward to lunchtime, think i'll hv a salad and maybe sandwich today.

envy u that ur tummy is still flat. my appetite super good and i am eating meat like no one's biz. eg sat i had roastduck with char siew rice. then dinner was bak kut teh. its like meat, meat, meat... i feel horrible now...

i nvr like salad leh... i wish i can be more healthy in my food choices...
 
Good morning Ladies!!

Went for the NT scan on sat. My DS risk is 1:700+
Cant remember the measurements le, but I know my Ultrasound Gestration is Wk13 and Day00.
Baby is very naughty, refused to move the head up for good view of the neck. The doc kept shaking my tummy and ask the baby to move the head up, but the baby kept moving the legs up to do sommersault instead. Hubby and I are quite amused.

Think my MS getting better, but cannot be hungry, once I am hungry or in crowded places, I will feel nausea again. Hopefully these will slowly get better. This thurs going to see gynea. Will get to see bb again. ^^

Me too, hubby went Munich for business trip for 3 WEEKS! so me moved back to my mum's place with my ger... seems so weird.

I think my MS is getting worse these few days ... and when think of food, the hair on my arms will all stand up coz fearful of food smell. Thought should get better by now (week 11)...

The higher the number behind, the better, cause it means that the lesser chances of your baby getting the down syndrome (DS).

Based on the NT scan, my due date is 08-Nov-08...I love this date. So easy to remember!!

DS= Down Syndrome. It opposite of what you think. The test result is the higher, the better. For women below 35 years of age, the so-call safe range is 1:330. Once hint above the range is in the 'safe zone'
