Heya ladies.. feeling blue again..cannot go out party..
My boy is 5 wks plus, taking 110ml. his feeding times also very zhun.. abt 2hrs 45 mins or 3hrs will wake up and fuss. so far still cannot slp through the night but the longest he can stretch with out milk is abt 4hrs. last feed abt 10.30pm, next feed abt 2plus, then 5plus. funny thing is a lot of ppl say if feed FM, bb can slp longer. its not true for me leh! he still wakes up zhun zhun or even shorter than when he drinks EBM! as for diapers, we change every 4-5 hrs or unless he poos... using Pampers at night and Nepia in the day.
A lot of u are having bbs that take very long to drink or fuss halfway during the feeds. my hb found a solution to the latter. he holds my boy very tightly, close to his chest, abt 70 deg incline and my boy usually able to finish his feed in 10 mins. he used to take 1 hr 20 mins!! may be u can try holding ur bbs close and tight to u.
Haru, Fifi, don't give up on pumping. Like what i said before, even no milk comes out, u still gotta pump. also, u might wanna have a break in ur pump session. i pump 20mins (even though no milk come out liao) then stop and massage my breasts and pump again for another 10mins. i can usually yield another 40ml like this. also u might have more than one letdown but the 2nd letdown might be aft 20-25 mins of pumping. U also need to squeeze ur boobs when u are pumping to ensure u empty it 100%. pumps can nv empty ur boobs totally.. hope this will help u some what. also it takes abt 2-3days before u see any increases in ur ss.
Joyce, u so hardworking! at night also pump 3hrly? i was also like u, scared my ss will drop once i stretch the pumping interval but no leh, my ss still maintains. now i so tired so usually i pump once at 10pm, then again aft his 2am feed, then i buay tahan and zzz until 8am then pump again. i currently pump slightly more than wat he needs but my night feeds are all FM cos my bb cannot wait for my BM to be heated up. he literally screams for milk. got one night i was walking the dog downstairs and my hb was at home waiting for him to wake up for his last feed, i actually heard my boy's cries from the ground floor. I stay on the highest floor (12th) some more!!! that's how loud he cries. my neighbours from the opposite end of the block also told me they can hear him. super paiseh... sigh.. but hor we realised that my bb prefers EBM cos he fights when he has to drink FM. if drink EBM he very guai one.. nv fights..
Kash, wanna ask u abt swaddling! how u tie tight tight? and wat swaddle are u using? i m using cloth nappies to swaddle but my boy always escapes. then he will use his hands and smack himself then wakes himself up.. DUH....
