I also thinking whether or not to shave baby's hair. Cause I'm afraid it will grow out in patches lei.. cause that happen to my #1.. Then very ugly lor, somemore new year coming....But then, his sideburn damn long lor....

Re: Feeding EBM at night
Tried that last night. First feed, baby drank ony 45ml then fall asleep. Woke up 2 hrs later, drank 80ml then fuss for a while before sleeping. Woke up another 2.5 hrs later. Conclusion is she did not sleep longer and it was quite jialat coz she cannot wait for the milk de. Wake up immediately want.

Anyone knows where to get these caps? Dun quite like the metal caps given by the hospital.

On my second nite, nurse woke me up and ask me for permission to feed him fm bc he was crying non-stop (previously i only allowed glucose water), keke, looks like we have similar encounters, keke. Now when he screams at nite, my cl will stuff the pacifier to him to bluff him first then quickly go and get milk. But he finish his milk quite fast though.
 
Jo> My bb sleep in non-aircon leh, also got mucous. In fact, i read on the internet, c-sect bbs tend to have more mucous bc they never squeeze through the birth canal. I think Bear can explain this better, wonder how is she and baby bear?

Mosh> Maybe it is gd to give it a try for natural labour first, worse come to worse only hurt ur pocket more bc trust me, once u see ur baby, u will forget all the pain that u have gone through. I ended up paying $4K+ of cash for a single room at tmc, bb and i and my hb stayed an extra day though.

thanks for your advice..I really wanted to go natural. I have heard some bb will engage when labour time comes but some will not, all depends on pelvis and bb head size...

Make into a needle shape and take it out.So far,it works well for me.

I hav end my confinement earlier.I been eating and bathing normally since monday.And tis is onli my 3rd wk!
Is all depend on wat u believe and comfort level.Many said confinememnt shld be 40days and nt 28days.
To me,i din obey the rules strictly.I still wash my hands and legs,drink plain water,on the fan,and eat non confinment food too.Actually I dun seem to be doing confinement at all.Am feeling v relax as compare to my #1 confinement nw.

We are having the same worries but Ur edd is later then mine.
 
Jo - when I feed FM, he normally wake up at 2+am, feed him 110-120ml FM and he will sleep till 6-7am. So it last him abt 4-5hrs.

Brocoli - you fortunate, Jadon drink very slowly unless he is really hungry. Normally the feed at 2+am, he will drink quite fast. But during the day when I will wake him up every 3hrs, sometimes he can drink very slow, up till 1hr as he is not very hungry. He very bad habit. He will cry when he is abit hungry and when you carry him, he will fall alseep in your hands and drink very slowly. Normally he will not be able to finish all the bm de, will always waste 20-40ml, cause I will store in bottle of 120ml. Mum complaining he very difficult to be fed. :p

i managed to let baby latch on whole day today. but she keeps falling asleep on my first breast. so i just let her go back to sleep and feed her at next breast when she wakes up again. i will feed her the 100ml of EBM later for her nite feed and see how much she can finish and last her tonite.

my mum asked me to come along today when she brought my baby down to "sun" this morn. said its good for me to have some fresh air and to walk a little too. thank God for my mum who is not e strict kind. =P i also on fan everywhere in e home coz i seem to be sweating non stop all e time! any mums also sweating excessively?

Hello, i'm back.

Here's my birth story...

7am: reached Mt A to check in
8am: on drip cos i have no contractions.. Nurse increased the speed from 40, then 80, then 120, which is the max.. i had no feeling at all although CTG shows that i got contractions.
9.30am: Gynae came to burst water bag.. asked me why i checked in myself. He totally forgot that he told me to come on Mon!
11am: feeling some pain.. nurse checked and said abt 4cm dilated. said i had a full bladder and that was stopping bb from coming down. inserted catheter in and i amazed hb and her by producing 2 kidney bowls full of pee.
11.15am: pain more intense. already on mask..
11.30am: asked for pethedine. abt 5cm dilated...
11.45am: screaming for epi liao... nurse checked and said i 7cm dilated.. no point taking epi.. but i continued to scream.. so she got me the form to sign.. before i can sign it, the pethedine hit me and i blacked out. This was the best part man! i can hear hb and nurse calling me but cannot response.. it felt like somebody else was in pain, not me..
12-1pm: mostly unconscious... Nurse kept checking me to see my dilation.. i could feel the pain when the contractions comes and my body involuntarily pushed the bb. luckily i dilated the last 3cm within that hr.
1pm: Gynae came. Hb said gynae said i was knocked out like a cow. I subsconsciously heard gynae's voice, but cannot react back. Gynae told me sternly he needs me to be alert to push.. My body involuntarily pushed. After 2 pushes, Baby Zachary is out! I can feel him sliding out but totally nv see him cos i was blacked out. Gynae immediately ordered the 'antidote' for pethedine via IV for me.
1.30pm: started stirring.. can feel gynae stitching so moaned a few times. Hb said gynae immediately injected more LA to that area.
1.45pm: half awake liao.. i felt like somebody else gave birth cos i really blacked out during the whole thing!

Krystel, u popped at 1am??? he told me he had to deliver somebody at 1am on 24th Nov!

So frustrating, these 2 days baby is always making a fuss around for 3-4hrs each day. And dunno what he wan somemore. He will jus latch on and after a while cry. Then latch on then after a while cry. I'm feeling so low lor cos dunno what to do...

Me too.. My baby will just suckle for mere 5-10 mins,then fall asleep at my breasts, leaving me so engorged.. then dun know if I shld pump out or not cos he will wake up again 1 hr or so, fussing and wanting to be latched on again....

I have resorted to expressing my bm to bottle-feed him now, cos at least I know how much he is drinking and also more timely.

For a 10days old baby, how much is the general amt they shld be drinking? Mine drinks about 90 ml.

Haru - I am perspiring like mad at home also!! Even after I wipe myself with hot water, the moment I come out of the toilet, I will be perspiring le. So my living room's fan is on almost the whole time I am in the living room. On top of that, I am those who perspire alot on normal days de, so it makes it even worst!

finally removed my binder for good tis morning. had a nice good shower, shampoo my hair, feel so shiok plus its a cool cool morning so no sweating yet.heehe..hubby very impressed w e massasge and bind. says like back to pre-preggie already.=D just need to tone up again to get back abs when i am allowed to exercise.

in such a good mood that i am thinking of going out to get some nursing bras later after feeding baby. in real need for extra nursing bras. until i dreamt of shopping for nursing bras last nite.hahah!!

do try to nap later when u can then. impt to get enough sleep and rest. i say it but i hardly do it myself.=P somehow always things to do, feed, change diaper, carry baby, etc..

i normlly try a few things when baby cries..try to change her sleeping position, remove blanket, feed her, check diaper (but my baby not fussy about this one,haha). I find putting her to the breast normally works best and instant!=P

i think e amt is fine. my baby drank about there too and she is officially 2 weeks today. gave her 100ml of EBM last nite and she managed to finish! but aft that i gave her again at later feed, she couldn't finish so it really depends. just go with their demand.

ya, all e fans in my home are always on, except when bathing and changing baby. my mum says its coz our pores are now open..not sure if thats e reason why we perspire so much.

Wow, you mean u actually tahan for 2 weeks before washing ur hair and bathing ah?? Pei fu pei fu. Did you wash hair with herbs?

Actually i m thinking of gging downstairs to my hair salon for a quick wash, wonder if it's ok, at least they will blow dry for me, better right.

Y u want to end ur confinement early? Eariler by how many days? I will end mine eailer by 1 day.. cos CL requested to go back eariler by 1 day.. My mum said huh so early.. haha.. but to me, it a relief lah.. hahahha.. can't wait for it to end..

Ya for my mum, se actually said 40 days 1, but now who do 40 days? Even CL oso do 28 days only.. hahhaa.. Think 28 days already the limit for me liao, how to tong till 40days..

Sometime think back, what the theory behind confinement? Think we do confinement is just to make our parents happy.. hehe.

I didn't really sweat alot this time round, cos the weather quite cooling..
Guess mayb cos u gals are taking care of bb urself, n tends to move around more, so that y u sweat more too?

Hv u talk to ur MIL on ending the confinement eariler? Ya, it so sian to be coop up at hm everyday.. Just told my HB this morning, that i have not even step of the hse for these few wks, except when i went for my Gynae checkup.. Felt so fedup!!

U be surprised that last time for my #1, i can tahan without washing hair n bathing for 1 mth ( except once when i m going for gynae checkup) and that is during Mar somemore.. so so hot!! Now i think back, i oso dunno y i so gd.. While now for the #2, the most i can tahan is 5-6days without washing hair.. hehe.
