me too! I didn't get a good sleep. Was up BFing baby at 1am and 4am... and he can suckle for 1+hr lor! Dunno what he's doing... can drink for so long meh? I almost fell asleep while BFing...

Littlebluey, Everafter and myself will all be discharged today!!!

But my baby might still need to stay for 1 more day for observation, PD just came and say they will do a final check - if all's well, then baby can go home with us today! Hope so...

Update from Littlebluey yesterday was her baby might also need to stay for 1 more day for observation... but baby is getting better day by day, hope her baby can go home with her today too!!! I'll see if I can get an update from her later and post here...
 
Whitepaper, ur baby can suckle so long?? I had hard time latching on bryan yesterday and my hb kept nagging and asked me to give formula! I felt so angry and depressed!! I told him bb have some reserve and he wont b so hungry, but he refused to listen. As bryan is crying non-stop and in the end he asked the nurse to give him glucose drink. I really wonder if i can really breast-feed for the coming days as my family is not supportive at all!

Yah mine can suckle, but on/off lah, in between he will rest with the nipple still in his mouth, maybe that's why took so long. Sometimes he cry very loud too!!! We get frustrated at that but nurses asked us to keep trying. We also gave him some glucose water yesterday afternoon when he kept crying, can't give FM now coz he seems to always vomit when give FM... suspect he's abit allergic to cow's milk.

Don't give up ok??? We are here to support you. I'm determined to carry on with BFing too, even though now my nipples are abit sore... coz he suckle too long!

I hear 2 babies kept crying yesterday, 1 is mine, the other must be yours!!! Anyway we'll meet when discharge today? Yesterday you were sitting in front of me at BFing class right???!!! Not sure so don't dare to call out to you, I didn't wear my contact lenses!

Whitepaper, mine also suckle and fell asleep with the nipple in his mouth! So we kept tickling him and wake him up. He also vomitted a few times after drinking Similac! PD says he's got alot of wind in his tummy! Muz have swallowed alot of wind while latching on! I felt so heartpain! I will perservere!! Maybe like wat Tweety suggest, go hm i'll try to pump if he dun suckle.

I think i've sore nipples leh! Dunno izit his mouth is small? I felt that while he suckle, his mouth cant cover the aerola area leh..Do u have this problem? I guess it could be my boy's cries that u heard last night! Cos i was breast-feeding ard 4am+ as well.

Oh, were u sitting behind me in the class?? I didnt see leh..wound was too painful to sit properly and i felt so slpy that i nearly dozed off halfway! hahaha....

I also intend to start pumping today to stimulate flow, otherwise I scared my supply delay... coz now still only colostrum... let's jiayou together

And yes, the nurses are very good at teaching you how to latch properly. Just press the bell and they'll come!!!

I heard that bb like to suck nipples to sleep esp at night. I dun latch eversince my nipple bleed and sore. My colleague bb also like to suck/ find nipple before bed.

Everafter, u might want to go parentcraft to correct ur position if u want to continue to latch. For me, i pump instead of latch. My position was wrong like u, just suck my nipple. Vy sore. And be careful, when start to pump, i saw stain of pinkish liquid, and that is blood. Be sure, not to latch ur bb to suck if happen. Latch on, we wont know if bb suck blood or not. Before u do that, express manual to see if have blood stain

bbgoh called me last night and advice me on BF.. She cant latch bb also.. so she pump to stimulate the flow on day 2.. she found some colestum and feed bb with hands as it''s abit and stick at the pump itself.. After that she got good flow of BM wor... She can pump 100ml everytime while her bb only drink 50ml...

The LC also ask her to try again when bb is bigger, now bb's mouth smaller, so might be the reason they cant latch well...

Yes I was sitting behind you! And I recognised Littlebluey coz of her blood pimple... hahaha... she also looked like she's in quite abit of pain from her c-sect ya? Hope she recovers fast.

Your wound is still painful? Got tell your Doc? Took any pain killers? Washed your wound with the wound wash? Mine ok leh, not pain. You tahan for awhile more k? Pain will go off soon!

During BF class yesterday, the consultant said we don't have to worry if baby's mouth can't cover entire areola area, coz sometimes baby is small vs big areola. My CH also cannot cover entire areola area, but nurse say it's fine, so don't worry

dun give up. think all mummies will through some bf problems. Talk to your hubby and tell him to be more supportive of your decision to perservere with bf. He just heartpain to see bb cry and feel helpless that he can't do anything to make things better.

I have a few recommendations that I dun know which one to choose. Haha! Plus now Hari Raya Season so might be difficult.

you hv to loosen bb's clothes, use towel to absorb to absorb sweat. use cool wash towel to the area of rash. dun use ointment or cream.

use fan or aircon to cool down the room (not directly at bb)

trim your bb's nails so he doesn't scratch himself or let him wear mittens.

Mrs Wong also mention to manually squeeze out the colestum if bb not able to suckle yet coz it is too thick so will b a waste when it stick at the pump.</font>
