Hi Mummies,

Glad to hear that Baby Victoria is doing so well. Congrats again Ruffles!

Forest, I think after 5th day is fine, so long as u don't delay too long after delivery. (Unless c-section then no choice got to wait for the wound to recover first). Personally, I find the massage effective but then you must be patient and tahan the binding for the whole 7 days which is not easy cos it can be very hot and itchy. On the 8th day, when I removed the bind, it is like I feel like a bird regaining its freedom haaa..

Lili_fc, for my elder gal's time, I tried to had some hands-on with my CL around a week before she left. But actually, I feel it is just some guideline. Ulitmately, you will have your own methods and style. So as and when you are free, just pop in to ask your CL questions and try some hands-on as you can. Somehow, naturally you will be able to manage when it comes to you.

I was so worried I can't cope with my elder gal that I cried a few days before my CL left. In the end, haaa.. I can manage much better than expected!

i dun dare to soak too often esp in warm water..dat time i went pedi..the gal told mi soaking in warm water will open up yr pores..n will allows wind to get in wor..will make it worst..

nwadaes i uses bengay..asking Dh is hopeless..its either he massage too hard until i shouted..n my MIL tot wad happened to me.. n came into the room..if not he massage until too GENTLE..like sanyang my legs like dat...so i told him..forget it..i do myself..hahahah..

regarding massage hor, my gynae says actually can.. just dont press at the acupoints for the uterus at the ankles there... but i think to be one the safe side, better not go.. cos' we arent sure if the masseuse knows where's the acupoints or not!!!!!

but you are right, show doesn't mean anything (according to my gynae). Unless you really bleed alot. A show can even happen after your gynae checks for dilation (coz she disturbed the cervix). So my gynae also say if got show, no need to go hospital, wait for contractions. If water bag burst, then must reach hospital within 1 hr. ALL THE BEST!!! maybe you'll pop exactly on your EDD?

Oh yah, read about some mommies asking about the following:

Top to toe wash:
According to Mrs Wong, she only recommends 2 brands : J&amp;J and Avent. Coz these are the safest non-rinse ones she had come across. She also mentioned Pigeon's one is quite good but is too foamy for NBs. Just put 1-2 drops into bath tub and can use to wash baby's hair and body. After that no need to rinse. She also warns NOT to pour straight from the bottle onto baby's head to wash hair - this is one of the reasons behind cradle cap.

Cord spirit:
TMC provides a bottle upon discharge. The other hospitals should have too. Mrs Wong says some hospitals use cord spirit, some use alcohol.
