i think it's very valid that we raise the point that by implementing the policies in Jan09, it's not as if the mothers giving birth in Jan09 are not pregnant now.. they shd also be pregnant for 4mths already..

if they really want to track if the policies are effective and their campaign is working, they shd start the implementation date in Apr/May09 to benefit mothers who make babies immediately after their campaign/ rally...

this way they make half the population of mummies happy (EDD SEP-DEC08) and half the population unhappy (EDD JAN-APR09). Not fair what..

hi gals.. i called the hotline of MOM who is implementing the ML and their reason used for usign 1 Jan 09 is to allow time for the employers to adjust. To this I gave my 2 cents worth to the poor girl handling my call:
1) the precedent of 8 weeks to 12 weeks was backdated to 1 Aug and the employers did not have problem handling it. So why shld we change from this precedent?
2) why give employers time? For them to sack current preggie women so they can hire non preggi women?

I think we shld write to PMO which littlebluey gave the email than MOM cos MOM is just the hands that operate this policy. The brain that thot of this policy is PMO - National Poplutation ....
