started bb with MIM sling for 1st and 2nd month (cuz friend recommended it) rarely went out anyway. never heard of Ergo at that time. after that, bought combi ninni ninna. my gal didnt like it. then also try other 2 carriers. seen and heard of ergo only when gal was 3+ months. after that, never leave home with gal without it.

mousebb is right. some hospitals do give cord spirit. at mt. e, they did give us some swap but it wasnt enough.

brand is guardian. its not ex. we bought a bottle. will use for no 2 too.

RE: cord blood bank

I used stemcord for no 1 recommended by friend.
they managed to extract a good quantity of cord blood for storage. So, quite happy with them.

RE:sling vs carrier

i did research on it and tried many different brands and types.

sling: can use till kid is a few years old. weight lies on 1 shoulder.

Carrier: depending on different type of carrier.
weight lies on both shoulders

normal baby carriers: baby hangs on crotch which is not good for the baby spine if use for too long, and cant use an hour after food/milk.

Ergo carrier- baby in sitting position, so okay to let her sit/sleep in it. can use up to 20kg

At the end, its up to different mummies/daddies preference and budget.

personally, ergo is my and my gal favourite

havent been active at this thread. Gave birth my 1st baby in Oct 07, Just wondering if anyone of you planning for a 2nd baby n when?

I want a big family, hopefully 4 kids is ideal. Thinking of the age gap when planning 2nd one coz 1st is born later part of the year.if wait for my daughter to be 18 mths before the 2nd one by the time, its already a 2 year gap between. now still staying with my mum, planning to move on my own only when my daughter goes to CC @ 18 mths n by then hopefully a car...

any advice?

Seems like most of the mummies have started their shopping, was wondering if anyone considered getting a diaper bin? Any advise on how to dispose soiled diapers? I cannot imagine running to centralised rubbish chute everytime my bb poo!

I went Expo yesterday..not very crowded, bought lotsa things! haha...

- 1 ctn of pampers(S), 1 ctn of (M) and 2 pkt of (NB)
- 2 pkt of Nepia diapers $14 + (8pcs free)
- 1 ear thermometer $69
- Some bb clothings
- 2pkt of maternity pads, 2btls of pureen laundry detergent, 2 btls of cleansing liquid, 1 nappy rash

it's madeness! hahaa...Hubby's hands were so full that he went back to car twice :p
 
Went to expo yest too, bought the hands-free set for the breast pump + funnels & the fridge-to-go bundle.

Got some freebie from some milk co. & got a nagging from DH when I signed up for the vaccum cleaning demo for the free stainless steel small cooking pot =P

When do we start brushing the teeth for our young bb? So far, my boy only has miserable 2 teeth and my hubby told me we should start brushing his teeth for him liao. However, I'm afraid he would swallow the toothpaste leh. Was told there is a special type of toothpaste for bb.</font>

There is this toothpaste called - First teeth contain no floride and ok to be swallow and comes in Apple and banana flavour
it very expensive to buy from local phamarcy, in the market place lotsa pple doing BP or spree on First teeth and selling much much cheaper about $8 or so - but I long time never buy liao duno the price now..
You can try this for your bb

My gal love it.. when she brush teeth, she MUST ask for toothpaste. Bascially she is not crazy over brushing her teeth but to eat the toothpaste

Thanks for asking, the detailed scan went well, bb was relatively notti at a pt of time "swam away" and the sonographer said "See, your bb swim away" hahaha..and we even saw him scratching his head, guess he must be wondering what are we doing?? ke ke ;p Confirmed it's a BOY leh, cannot run away, sonographer was surprised that my DH wanted a gal becos she said most guys will prefer a boy lolx.....But anyway, DH said as long as it's healthy and growing well, the gender issue is secondary.

Yesterday afternoon, went shopping and DH even picked up cute and nice rompers for his little boy, finally the reality sinks in for him le! hahahaha...
