Sorry to interrupt. I'm from Oct 2007 link. Anyone interested to get nappy cloth from Aussino. I'm selling them at $12 (original price is at $19.90)cos I'm going to use disposable ones. There are 8 pieces inside. Can be use to swaddle baby at home also. If interested, pls send me a PM and I'll get in touch with you soon. Thanks.

<Fern, your CL is still $100 cheaper than mine. Plus, my colleague said will need to give angpow (even if nominal) before and after her assignment. My cousin was convincing me to go to TMC too. Actually I was seeing private gynae before I got pregnant so I could have continued with her. But after I calculated all the possible expenses, decided to go KK cos if I see private gynae, each time can only claim $18 no matter what is the bill. Luckily, I did find a gynae I like at KK, if not, I'll also go private.
As for insurance, I've spoken to my Prudential insurance agent because I was thinking of buying hospitalisation policy (since all I have is basic Medishield) for myself. She said must buy before I reach 3 months of pregnancy and only cover for medical emergencies, don't think can claim for delivery but not sure about emergency caesarian. I was 2 months plus then but decided not to buy yet cos it's expensive (if I buy the as charged rider ie. insurance pays for everything from the first dollar) and must pay cash (cannot use medisave to pay for the as charged rider). I reasoned that since I'm seeing gynae at KK and hubby is civil servant. If got emergency, I can still claim using own benefits (90%) or hubby's benefits (60%). But if I quit to be SAHM, then I'll need to buy hospitalisation insurance. If not, siong for hubby next time.

Re CL- the ang pow thingy before and after I leave. I heard abtt it but how much its up to us rite? Its not like a fixed amtt of anything? Anyway she is already paid quite a lot as her salary. the angpow is just a sense of gratitude rite? Btw, is your CL staying with ya throughout the new year? Another thing, is CL meant to wash our soiled panties or are we supposed to wear those disposable ones? haha? cos i dun like those kind and must spend an extra $$ for those.. haha. just a tot? If not my CL is gtg to be very free as I have a full time maid at the very same time. lol

$2800 is very steep. You should have bargained more. For mine, I managed to bargain for $2500 with her staying. Hopefully is within the range and am not overcharged men. She also asked for a deposit of 400. you pple? did your CL did likewise? Which means we will pay her accorindingly once we are due, and lesser if our dd doesnt hit the new year huh?

Guess @ the end of the day as long as the CL is good any amt is worth it. Or else get one of those that anyhow do things even more headache.

confinment lady will wash eveything like clothes and bras and stuff. Its just the soiled panties that she should also wash by right. But up to individual, can use paper or disopable kind if we are nice enough. Aiyah, if really cant tahan she gotta wash bo bian.. accordingly to most my friends. Its her job anyway rite. Yah, my CL and mum say cant touch plain water. Use herb water for everything thru the one month. Even cant drink water. need logan water. But its ok, i love logan water.. hahaha!

Haha, I used to work in private but not MNC. Everyday, got new law depending on the bosses' mood (it was family owned business) and they super 'niao'. Buay tahan so I left.

I think it should be fine to go without. Seemed like the preggies in japan doesnt have any supplements at all! So far, I am never offered any supplements from my gynae, they just stressed on balance diet.
But I very kiasu and becos I dun have much appetite, so I bought supplements to eat.
