Fern, I know price differene between natural birth and c-section can be as high as 50%. So it really depends on how you deliver lor. Not sure how much is the 2-bedder becos i only reseach on single room...hehe. But i guess you can probably save $1k plus if you choose 2-bedder??

having my own toilet is still top priority lor...haha. we are bleeding so much and will probably be making numerous trips to the toilet to change our pads and clean up, will be nice if we can take our own sweet time without having someone else waiting outside lor. that's how i feel lor.

Thanks! I will check up and see whats the price diffrence first before deciding and how much medisave we can claim first cos my hubby working in a stateboard and its riduculous that I came to know that he cant claim hospitalisation at all. aiyo, unlike mncs which I previously worked in.. Terrible!

Hi ladies,
Don't mind joining you folks for weekdays dinner to even lunch (for the month of sept cos will have to be back at work after this month)
Venue wise, think anywhere central like orchard would be good for everyone. Don't think we should go eat steamboat at marina south cos I feel that some stalls there are not very hygienic in displaying the steam boat ingredients. We must be careful now that we're preggy leh.
As for cuisine, anything goes for me at the moment.
Husbands banned from our outing too? Hee.

And husband is not allowed to sleep on patient's bed, or empty patient's bed. Maybe they'll allow if husband sleeps in the chair?? But my husband will suffer if he has to spend his night on an armchair. If u need husband with u, then go for single bedder. Hi, Fern. Can understand. I'm from semi govt service and my hubby is a teacher. So, we only get subsidies if we chose govt drs and deliver at hosp. That's the same reason why I chose KK but I went for the most expensive that I can get since can claim (pte suite and definitely single bed).I really save a lot, already spent more than $1000 on prenatal consultations so far. Haven't even had my detailed scans yet.
Because of 90% staff subsidy, I only paid about $100+ so far. If your hubby works at stat board, he should be able to claim 60% if you are at govt hosp. But then again, it's most important that you are comfortable with the gynae whether private or public. For me,the money saved goes to BB's education fund. But some things I got to spend like engaging a CL which costs $2.6k. Some expenses hard to save lar. After all, how many kids will we have? Probably 2 if not 3.

I deliver my bb girl at TMC. Over there 2 bedded is good enought, if u are having C-Section u wont have much bleeding. (cos i have C-section last yr). As for Toilet we must share. But most important is our neighbour; cos last yr i share wif a malay family the very noisy i cant even rest well. end u i complain to the head of staff nurse. If ur wanna stay dun stay in level 3; 2 bedded very cramp. i check out liao level 4 & 5 2bedded are bigger...

I am still taking folic acid too.
most prenatal vits hv folic liao. anyway by now bb's spine formed liao.. folic is to prevent any abnormalilities in spinal formation.
anything la, u want to chk on any effects of overdosing on folic, go google. Both my pregnancies i stopped folic at 5m coz taking prenatal vits liao.

And the whole thing is my hubby cant claim at all being in a stateboard. haz. so really gota put aside spare $$. Thankfully, can claim medisafe so not that bad. Might still go for room bedder if can. hahaha
THe thing is eveything is jam , cl, delivery charges, hospitalisation.. Oh my gosh, get it? And moreover now I am not working. so cant claim anything for my side. Perhaps, can only check hospiltilasation benefits for insurance. keke! any recommendations?

Talking abtt CL, me also got mine at 2,500 but she is staying with me throughout the new year.. haha. ex liao. men esp to give birth during the new year. To me a CL is very impt lor.
Btw, For TMC, if can pay by credit card too like MT A, on installment basis would be great! hahha
my multi-vit was gynae recommended, so safe for preggy to take. It contains 1mg of folic acid on top of calcium, vitamin A, D,C, B1, B2, B6, B12 etc... I was given 5mg before, just to be sure, but now gynae said 1mg is good enough already.
oh btw be careful when taking multi-vits... My GNC one is so "powerful" it contains chinese herbs too (recommended by a nutritionist friend)... so I'd stopped taking it since I knew I was pregnant. I will resume taking after I give birth.
