aiyah, so cannot bring her to the luge liao ah, so disappointing. She's only 81 or 82cm. The height limit applies even if kids ride with adults right?

Ya, think we'll eat at restaurants bah. Probably got to eat at the hotel cafe or restaurant cos amara sanctuary like quite ulu. ;p what was the kids meal that zander had?
happy.gif

we still bring home cooked rice n dishes for raeanne 50% of the time. The rest of the time if we go out, we'll think of which kids friendly restaurants we can bring her to usually those that serve rice or porridge. So far, she ate at crystal jade, sakae, nihon mura, dian xiao er n ikea.

mcfluffy,
i do bring out home cooked food for my girl. But she also eats out regularly depending on how lazy i am to cook :p
so far she has eaten almost everything outside.

icy,
bassinet is for infants below 24 mths. but the air stewardess usually look at the child and judge whether to install the bassinet for you cos the rule is that all the arms and legs have to be in the bassinet when the child is sleeping in the bassinet.

haha pauline, i dunno who she is....tot maybe you all know....

btw, if you happen to go tampines one....can you go MCKY to see whether they are lotsa cute mickey bag....heehee....that is if you happen to be there.

else when i am there on mon and tue ...on course there...then i pop by

thinking whether i shall check other bags out during weekend or just allow him to carry some other bag on first day of school then i go buy at that shop when i am there on monday

morning all

kitsune,
yes the height limit applies even if kids ride with adults.
This is the kiddy meal (fried chix meat, french fries, sauteed baby carrots & broccoli & mango pudding) Nowadays Z will join us & eat adult food but of course we will also bring him to those that serve rice, soup, porridge or noodles. But Z love fast food like superdogs & Carls' Jr

paging for mei
forgot to tell you if you need gerber milkbags i can order them in my next batch so you tell me how many pkts you want yah

Verene,

How much did you pay for Jet star then? Cos I thought though 45 min trip, SQ should be more reliable ad also more comtable and less squessy seats and now the price is quite reasonble so wana compare what is it now for Jet star for travveling in Dec.

We looking at Swiss Garden Hotel. IS it good? Royal Bintang is our second choice as I stayed beofre as it has vert good location..

Re food. We still bring out cereal/mee suah for his lunch. Usually ceral he can take twice one time lunch once for breakfast with some sandwitch to go along and of cos jar food and milk as extras lor

Up to now, Elias hasnt really touced most adult food, Except, Chicken rice ( rice) and kc mash potao without sauce... Am prety careeul not to give him things with sauce as at home he doesnt take the least bit of salt, excpet for ikan billis and cheese which add a little taste to his diet.

So dont know how men if overseas. need bring bottles of jar food, or bring own cereal to make in hotel room. Mine jialat cos ceral elias one we need cook over fire cos his is mixed ikan billis brown rice with frico cream cereal one.. so maybe there we just use cereal without brown rice and he loves cheese lots lor.

Mc Fluffy,
I hope ELias can still fit into the basinet given that he will only be 22 months then.. haha.. and he not say very big size lor. or cery troube some to keep carry him as he very fidgety burt I doubt he wil sleep as its only 45 mins journey lor

Still contemplating wana take SQ or jet star now.hiaz

steph!
Zander can eat so much ! fries, fried chix, brocolli and wat is tat yellow pile of thingy ? :p

Tate has only 8 pathetic teeth and he's still eating porridge for your info hor... so whenever we go out I'll make sure we bring along his cooked porridge. His teeth r growing so slowly and he missed out a lot of good food hor...

Chaye,
that yellow pile of thingy is mango pudding...keke

Z has 16 teeth now & he can chew pretty well but wkdays afternoon, MIL will still cook porridge for him. Come wkends, he'll eat junk food loh...very unhealthy but we're trying to limit such food as much as possible.
Teeth grow slow nvm la...as long as he is happily eating & growing well...maybe Tate drink alot of milk? Z only drink 180ml max & that's the amount of milk DiDi (7mths) is drinking too!

steph
16 teeth ah.. so envy leh...Tate's teeth r sprouting slowly... I can see whitish stuff coming... he loves to eat de.. whenever we eat he will also say Ah Tate eat, Ah Tate eat :p:p

he drinks milk 3x a day. 300ml early morining. the rest 2x is ard 180ml

Fern, Elias so guai, never ask for adult food when you all are dining outside?

Jar food ? you can get from the supermarkets in KL ? they all sell healthy times jar food and other brands too. Cereal as well. Unless you want to bring your own la. Cheese you can also buy from KL what. Taking jetstar can save you more $ so that you can buy more things in KL. LOL

Chaye ? haiyo why did you say he miss out good food, it?s just a timing problem what, after his teeth have grown out he can then have all the food liao lor.

Chaye,
Don't have to worry about Tate's milkteeth. My girl's teeth is also sprouting slowly. Only recent 2 months, molar teeths came out. Now total around 12 teeth. But even before she got molar teeth, she can practically eat anything. I don't really restrict her eating outside food. My opinion is that let she eat what she wants so that she will not become a fussy eater like me. But so far, I noticed she likes soupy food better and she is always drinking lots of water.

SY,
Yes, quite a few refresher MIA... Maybe it is because school holidays and with many coping with #2 babies, not a lot of them are posting??? Me still hanging there but I got a feeling that my delivery date is near. I can't sleep these few nights and kept running to toilet every hour.

mylvera
never spree-ed that leh, trying to buy myself online = cheaper

i see not much activity i oso sianz half here liao lah steph

kitsune
i cfm will bio the canon DSLR this sunday @ comex and will buy a 2nd hand online after that since im a beginner. something less than 1K perhaps?

RaeAnne also eating a lot of 'junk food' since she started playgroup. Today, hubby found yellow colour fried noodles snack (looks like muruku) in her school shorts pockets. She must have had that for tea, no wonder her bread is hardly touched. Sigh. ;P

Pixie, great for you. I can't even go to Comex. Hubby going back to school tomorrow so I'm stuck with the maid again.
sad.gif

kitsune
whats muruku anyway? sounds like bakluku haha

tods will always get "junk" food when they go school. unless infant care.

so how ar your maid? anymore drama to share with us??

im gonna deposit my boy with my mil and cheong down to comex, at the last hr...just to grab something/anything.
planned to change pc but we thinking might as well fix our current pc, who is always in a bad mood. altho 5 yrs old liao but still functionable, maybe change HDD and get more ram, viola, as good as new.
used the $$ saved to buy a DSLR....yayyyyyyyyy
then sell off my ixus *dreams*

Krystle : why giving kids everything will not become fussy eater leh?

Pauline: wah shocol gives yellow noodles snack? Unhealthy wor. You ok ah?

Pixie, muruku is the Indian curled fried spices crispy chips, very nice one! Before I let my son start playgroup I think I will check out frist

Tongtong,
That is only my view lah, not necessary correct too. Just thinking of exposing her to bigger variety of food so that when we dine outside, she will not fuss so much. I am that type who believe Hokkien phrase "dirty eat, dirty grow up".
Somemore, I did see some examples of mummies really restricting their kids in food (like my SIL). Then my mum also complained that feeding my 2 nephews are a headache and they are not interested in food (my 1st nephew is now a bit malnutirious)... She said my girl is so much easier to handle...

Wahhh suddenly the thread bcum alive for awhile?hehe...
krystle,
when is your EDD?
My gal frd was admitted to MtA (given ventolin drip) last wk for 2days due to early contraction. She was given 2wks HL to rest at home now. She called me this morning & say tummy abit uncomfy...thinking will she give birth anytime...she is a 1st time MTB. I told her dun worry cos her hubby work from home so if any emergency, shld have enuff time to reach hospital. She is only in her 33wks (EDD 10Oct). Can feel that she's very tense...Hmm...i wonder do 2nd time MTB feel the same when u are about to deliver #2/#3??or season liow?

Anyone gg to the Robinsons sales today?

i agree with krystle totally
yest my mil cooked curry ONLY and my boy got a taste of curry. i just think eat dirty, grow up dirty

eg my corlick's boy is dec boy, she till now still never give outside food and meat (i think chix and fish only permitted), but her boy still very small size, skinny......

SY,
EDD is 27 Sep but 100% confirmed cannot wait until then. My gynae has been hinting to induce me for 1 wk already due to my high blood pressure. So far no signs of labour yet though...

How I feel ah... Mixed feelings... This time I sort of can't wait for baby to come out coz he is really weighing down on my pelvis until very low. I can't even close my legs!!! But I wonder for those who have given birth to #2/#3, are the delivery process similar? My gynae told me will be so I am actually not so tense about it. Given that for #1, my delivery only took 3.5hrs.

aye aye pixie & krystle,
me oso think eat dirty, grow up dirty! but of course moderation to certain food la...too much curry with the thick coconut oso no good wor.

steph
dont think my mil add in coconut milk in her curry type kind

i think my boy tried basically almost everything cept seafood and spicy stuff

krystle,

wahhh 3.5hrs so short...envy envy but me also not so bad la. #1 took abt 7hrs while #2 took 9hrs leh...can be faster de but stupid drug ventolin stop my contraction so no urge to push liow while cervix open very fast. But #2 easier to push cos i know how to while #1 blur blur...dunno use which muscles to push cos after epidural my lower body numb! Hmm...about how i feel...everything just happened too sudden for me to think about cos #2 delivered at 35wks!

Another point about outside food... is that I can't cook at all. So I sort of think that I don't have that enough right to restrict my girl what to eat and what not to. So I left my girl's diet completely on the hands of my MIL and mum. Anyway, I think they know better than me since they are very season cooks for years. And since I don't cook, the only way I can eat with my girl is during outside loh. So if I restrict my girl on outside food, then I really have no chance to feed her. Hahahaha.

Krystle, how did your sil restrict her sons? I thought kids will become fussy if we introduced tasty food too early, and when we want to give nutritious food which is bland, they don?t want.

Cheryl,
Z oso tried prawn & lobster but hor he dun like the lobster meat cos abit hard to chew leh...he will spit it out. His favourite is meat (pork/chix/beef) & fish.

X tried sotong, prawn etc but bo chance to try crab coz mil dont cook crabz and we always no chance to eat crab

X fav is dim sum i guess

Tongtong,
My SIL does not allow much outside food for my nephews... Kept asking my mum to give only home-cooked food until my nephews became bored and starting to slowly refuse to finish their home-cooked food. I think it also caused them to be less adventurous to outside food too. Even up to now, they don't take home-cooked food that much liao and can see they prefer outside food. But the way they eat is really slow (they had developed the bad habit of slow eating due to food rejection earlier). Got to shout and wait for them to finish until you want to faint. So I hope my girl will not be like them loh. Even my SIL also said my girl can eat faster than her sons.

does your child eat hurrily ah ? as in if u give him a plate of say 5 biscuits he will quickly stuff everything into his mouth w/o swallowing wat is in his mouth and later choke on it ?

mine will leh.. he will put 1 biscuit into his mouth then before he swallow 1, he will stuff the next and next.. I always hv to sit beside him to supervise n ask him to swallow the one in the mouth before putting the next leh

SY,
I forgot how to push liao. Hehehehe... Anyway, I guess my body will remember and tell me how to do it when time comes. Just that this time I decide to ask for pethide (thigh jab) and not the laughing gas coz I find the later no much of use. As for epidural, since already told gynae I don't want to use so just leave it bah. Just bear with the pain loh and hope for the swiftest delivery.
happy.gif

I am just worried about the size of my baby. 3.2Kg @ 37 wks. Not that huge but his length is already out of the normal 40wks range liao. Scared I may need more pushes to get him out.

chaye
mine will
i give 1 pc, he will put in his mouth
i set few pcs in a plate, he will stuff all in at the same time
greedy better than dont take food leh

krystle
same here, my niece slow eater. my sil shouts at her to finish kind. my boy is slowly becoming her height leh...but her case is different from yours - she eats too much junk food in between meals thats why no space for proper meals.
i ever saw her (before or when i was preggy, so that was long time ago) having tea break - oreos with milk *faint* fast calories neh
sometimes the family (BIL, SIL, DD) eats KFC for lunch/dinner. that happens as early as before i got preggy

pixie,
i love eating crabs...the Sri Lanka type with white pepper or chilli ones...BBQ flower crabs oso nice but it has been 1.5yrs since my last crab session...now with 2 kids...no hands for crabs
sad.gif

pixie, mylvera, tongtong, the thing is I don't even know if it was the teacher who gave it to her or she pinched the snack off the other kids (4-5 indians in her class)'s snack box. Tomorrow will go to school and check with teacher. Shun bian ask her not to give RaeAnne high sodium or high sugar snacks. ;P

Haha, RaeAnne has tried prawn, crab but not sotong cos too tough to give it to her. ;P

tongtong,
the belief is that if u give kids too tasty food then next time they won't want to eat bland food.
but come to a certain point, u have to expose them to more tastes and flavours or they will also become fussy and will not want to try anything new. then become very mah fun for the parents cos they always have to cook separately for them. Nutritious food can also be tasty wat

so far my girl has had her meals (full meals and not just try only) at
- macdonalds (sausage mcmuffin & hashbrown, nuggets and fries)
- yong tau foo (both soup and with the sweet sauce)
- wanton mee (both soup and dry)
- chicken rice
- chap chye peng
- western food (chicken chop and fries)
- zhi char (fried bee hoon, hongkong noodles, prawn paste chicken etc)

my girl goes for class twice a week and i just have lunch outside with her after class so she has lots of opportunity to try a variety of food. basically we don't decide where to eat based on what my girl can eat but rather we decide wat to eat then see wat's on the menu that we can feed her

Pixie, X ok with curry? My hubby has DSLR

Krystle, how old is your nephew? And did your mum add salt or flavours to the food? They prefer outside food because they are tasty ma ( got salt , soy sauce and msg) when I realized my son doesn?t quite like home cooked food already ( cuz I let him eat outside food before), then I think it?s time for me to let him eat some salt. so I gave the nanny miso and bamboo salt to add to his meals. But at home I still don?t use salt but he is ok wor. So strange.

Chaye, my son will eat hurrily sometimes too. Like stuffing 4 grapes into his mouth and stayput.
