Aqua, Kam, haha, yes Raelynn is officially a Dec baby. Guess she prefers Dec holiday season lor or getting too comfy in my tummy. ;P

Told myself since she doesn't want to come out yet. I shall enjoy my extended days of freedom so after putting RaeAnne for her nap at ILs place at 130pm. We went to compasspoint for lunch and went to jalan jalan at Metro. Ended up buying toys for RaeAnne as Xmas presents. Scared no time to buy once Mei Mei is out also. With GPS, can afford to go further if we want to cos no need to topo. Yeah!

Pixie, is rivervale mall the one with a Daiso? We passed by it just now but I wasn't sure which mall it was. What eateries are there at Rivervale mall?

BTW, wasnt it cheaper if you let #2 also go with stemcord?

Xavier is with stemcord, I intend to let #2 to go with stemcord too.. cos stemcord store in 2 places and can use 2x but cordlife just 1 place and can only use 1x.
 
Any toddlers here difficult to handle now? Javin is very stubborn nowadays. Scold him or smack him also won't cry one!! If he demand for something and i dun give him he will start to cry w/o tears and keep shouting away. Tried to use rubber band to shoot his mouth also won't wk!

I think most of our toddlers are going through the terrible twos phase now and are testing how far they can push their boundaries and get their way.

My girl just threw a major tantrum last thurs, screaming, fake crying, kicking and rolling on the floor. The more we tried to talk to her reasonably the more she scream.

In the end i just calming sat there and ignored her. Of cos ensuring there was nothing nearby that she could hurt herself on. She went on for 15 mins before realising nobody was going to be bothered abt her then she stopped by herself.

The next day she almost went into a full tantrum but stopped by herself before it became full blown,and everyday since then she's been improving so i think she's got the msg.

honestly IMHO use rubberband to shoot your child's mouth is a very old trick used by our mothers n it doesn't helps on children nowadays. furthermore it doesn't helps their self esteem. think about it - would you like some1 to shoot ur mouth with rubberband? I would be very pissed n feel degraded. I think same goes for our kids, they will feel hurt too, who knows they use the same on other kids?
now is the stage of terrible twos - many parents uses many ways to cope with their tantrums. usually mummies here either let their child cool down and ignore the child or use a more sterner approach or use the distraction method but honestly I think hitting a child neck up is not right.

just my two cents worth sorry if I offended you.
 
Jacelyn, try not to beat Javin no matter how much he tries your patience. I know sometimes it's hard. Especially with no. 2 to take care, it's not easy for you as well. I've beat RaeAnne on her butt without diaper and left my palm print. But I can tell that she didn't understand why I'm so angry so beating didn't help.

Most of the the time, I either use distraction or try to reason with her. If she wants something and I can't let her have it, distraction usually works by giving her something else that she always wanted. Or bring her to the window to look for birds, cats, dogs etc.
 
hi, having on off menstrual like cramps since 6+am. Not sure if it's contraction pains but will be going to clinic to make sure. Wish me luck! :p

You are not alone, all of our kids are doing the similar thing! Like grumpus said, kids this age is going through what we call the "terrible twos". We as a parent needs a lot of patience to deal with them. Like pixie said, different parent is using different strategy, but beating the child may not be the way, since the kid is very confuse why you beat him. If you can't take his tantrum, maybe walk away from him for a few minutes to cool down, and go back to explain to him or ask him what he wants? Esp that now you need to spend time with your #2, very likely that he does it to attract your attention, which you can't blame him with. Get him involved when you are handling #2 so that he doesn't feel left out. What he needs is lots of love from you. Jia you!!!

perhaps you may want to bring Z to the clinic again since he is lethargic.

Javier still nor fully recovered and it has been a week liao. he still has diarrhea and slight fever yesterday. We decided to stop the western medication and try TCM. TCM premix medical powder for him. and he seems better. the staff at the medical hall says it will stop the diarrhea and "bu: back his stomach. but expensive.

Yesterday Z just seen the doc due to severe vomitting & he was already lethargic cos no food/milk intake for whole nite till next morning mah. Last night then developed fever cos i think body dehydrated & now need to replete with plenty of water or food to keep his energy up again. Now hoping his fever will just do down after taking paracetamol.

Speedy recovery to J too!

not big quarrel, we just have different opinions. we tok about having #2 yest nite, both agreed within the next 2 years eg 2010 - 2011. and then he say no $$ leh. i told him i have. and he really tot i never had savings. and he tot we both agreed on dumping all savings into our joint a/c (which i did not). so he felt that i never disclose my assets to him when he did lor....
but to me, any bank a/c is the same to me - coz all the savings are for the family to use.
we adopt a "hb spends all the $$ on food, bills, car etc while wife saves all the $$". but im entitled to "our" savings and "my" savings mah horrrrrrrrrrrr heeheehee

so...topic of the day is:

-will you tell ur hb if he asks you 1 day (assuming he doesnt know initially)

i dont intend to hide. i did tell him that since i am the one who saves while he spends, i sure got savings one mah. but i dont update him how much i saves each month because x's expenses is borne by me. and he thought all my savings are in our joint a/c. just miscomm lor.
no wonder he kept telling me we are broke. then i keep thinking we are still manageable.

pixel: not good when you have saving and your hubby doesnt know abt. I think even one has his own saving, also need to let other party knows abt it.

like i said, miscomm lah. i always tell him that im saving and he knows it. he tot it went to bank A but infact i kept it at bank B.
like what tongtong said, my savings are all for the family, regardless which bank its at

do have my own savings too but really very little cos a portion of my monthly income goes to insurance and some to service debts - my reno loan due to clear in 2010...looking forward.

the rest of household expenses and J's exp we share/take turns to pay, for eg: like buy milk powder. utilities, car exp mainly hsehld exp, hubby pays. except for dog exp, we share/take turns too

Nope, hb is the CFO of the company, he track the finance at home.. literally like how he does to his company - excel and graphs (faint!)

honestly we hardly tok about $$ stuff coz he spends on what he likes and i spend on what i like...we dont restrict on each other.
harnor after yesterday's quality tok then know that we miscomm liao

last time before i was preggy, we always have "quality time" periods. before bed, we will spend abt 15mins to 30mins toking (serious/non-serious stuff), snuggle, hug, and drift to sleep.

now dun have liao lah. yest do hsework until 11pm then tok abt $$ then KO..ZZZzz
 
Icy, wah!! even has graphs for the finances. Very well planned leh. Ur hubby is running own business? I only have excel for assets. But I din update for ages liao. But will be excited everytime I update cuz can see how much money we have saved keke.

Icy: your hubby sounds like my hubby. He will do "preview" on our spending and saving every month. As long as we spend within limit, he doesn't complain. ;-)

i write down everything i buy (excluding groceries, food, train rides) like my purchases eg shoes, clothes, face pdts, dining out, bills etc all in a book.

pixel: we do keep all the expenses bills including groceries, petrol, telephone, etc. And we now pay everything from credit/debit card so it's easy to track. Any weird numbers, we will crack our heads what we bought it for. ;-)

I called it 职业病. He does finance analysis and planning at work, and he brings that habit back to the house.

Same!! He got plans for the year, budgets and expenses mthly.. he gets "high" when we managed to save more.

Actually I don't, but my hb always ask me and he track.
 
actually i only do my own tracking of my own $$ so i know this mth if i spend too much or what. my hb doesnt track his $$ like that but he uses his head mentally - but we dont "combine" our tracking per se.
so i just write down my expenses for the mth, then end of it minus away from my savings. then i know how much i saved this mth liao....
