krystle, icy, janbb,
MIL is pretty stern to Z, she will not hesitate to use cane on him (beat lightly enuff to let him know pain). After several warning then Z will behave himself or being distracted by his baby tv program/tv commercials. BUT after awhile, he'll start his "HIGH" (jump/climb) mode again...sometimes he'll push didi's walker (with R sitting inside) like a pushcart...very fast speed like 15km/hr from living room to the kitchen...serious no joke. Need to always remind him & explain to him that he can't do this as it's very dangerous for didi & the walker is not a toy/car. I will not show him the cane unless buay tahan (last resort). Normally he will listen to me/mil if he's not in a tantrum mode otherwise very difficult ah...will have to use cane to frighten him...if still doesn't work or he simply ignore, will cane him loh.
Jacelyn,
my take on handling 2 kids with close age gap is setting priority (working p/t, FTWM or SAHM etc), time management (delegate responsibility to help u out like nite feeding or hsework), logistics (care-taker/helper/spouse) support & availability. If you have very dong shi or guai (cooperative) kids then it's a bonus. If it's tough to handle kids then u gotta have more patient. It's also a matter of getting yourself into a routine cos now with a baby to care for, you'll need more energy & attention. I am also still learning to juggle my time with my kids. U JIA YOU k!
