aye pixie,
Z loves to press the bell of the bus!

Janbb,
i anything...mrt in mid-morning is good as it's less crowded. After trial/lunch, i think cab better BUT have to depend on our tods mood...if they are still active (not sleepy/cranky) then public transport is ok.

pixie,
No doubt our todds' memory are good. My boy is still saying single syllabus words but he surprised us a few weeks ago when he suddenly decided to say his ABCs. All the reading we did were not wasted. He knows all the alphabets but still has difficulty pronoucing some of the more difficult ones like W, L, V. So it's really true they're absorbing all the info now and will surprise us one day when they finally decide to say it
happy.gif

so sleepy after a heavy lunch! Had Cafe Cartel fish & prawn combo even though sore throat:p

after soo much junk food (fried stuff & royce chocolates) for past few days...suffered a bad sore throat now
sad.gif

pixie,

2-3YO superb gd memory so whatever we teach/intro/expose them, they'll absorb very fast. When the TV showed "don't forget the lyrics" advert...Z will said "唱下去"...so cute lei..haha

ehh...u said u got bad kneecaps/joint pain...mine is like rheumatism...if cold/rain then will feel pain but bearable la. wonder next time older dunno how leh...hmm...maybe need to seek TCM to improve condition.

ya our tods are like sponges now....must really be careful of what we say.

that day i dropped something and just said sh*t
it just slipped out lor, the next thing i know got a voice behind me going sh*t
i keep telling hb must watch wat we say must watch what we say

grumpus
Thanks for the encouragement. Tat day my neighbour commented Elliot small size. She say the other nb's bb who is same age is tougher. Well... he sits in the playpen all day, errr 90% of the day. They dun let him come out cos no time to look after him, so they on tv for him all day lor. Like tat where got burn energy!!

ICy
At least Xavier multilingual leh!!! Now i need to speak more mandarin to Elliot and Nat...

Re: Knee pain
Mine will become swollen during rainy days but condition has improved tremendously after i went for acupuncture. I injured my knees in secondary school and the rheumatism started in my early 20s. Luckily I met a very nice TCM doctor who did acupuncture for me twice a month until I recovered. Now I rarely suffer from swollen kneecaps....hooray!

RE: star cruise

i want to complain abt star cruise!! initially wanted to book a cruise in nov for hb and me and lexie using the 35% UOB disc.

so i called star cruise to book, they quoted me $600+ per pax, total THREE pax
i asked them why times 3 and not 2+1 infant meh?
they said, oh if adult pay promo rate then infant fare is not valid, infant count as one more pax....wtf kind of policy is this????

does that mean if i buy air ticket at promo rate i cannot buy infant tic? must pay promo rate also? crappy lousy service

boycott star cruise liao!!!

yvonne
wah, you still say ABCs to B, i never leh. i lazy mummy...hmmm....maybe should start sprouting off ABCs liao

grumpus
me and my hb still use bad words in our everyday language very often, aiyoh my boy sure pick up sooner or later one.

hi mommies

super stressed out cos have been moving to my new apartment yday and today spent the whole morning rearranging my things.

Pixie
Thanks again for the very sweet gesture of personalising the wrapping paper for Rylee! So cute!

Yvonne
Rylee also surprises us every day now. Last time wondering how come she doesnt talk much yet, lately every morning she wakes up got smtg new to show us. Her vocab really getting more and more! Same with Brien, she also knows and recognised her ABCs, i'm most amused when she say W as "dao-bu-bu"
happy.gif

Grumpus
Err....from what i know from my sis (who's in the travel agency industry in HK), airlines do this too. Let me check with her again exactly what but from what i recalled, it's smtg similar to what's upsetting u right now. I rem being so angry cos my sis told me if it's promo rate, then child pays full fare.

And i totally agree on being careful with what we say around our toddlers now. I told hubby Rylee is like our echo now. Every sentences we say, she'll echoed with the very last word! Hehehehehe

Mylvera
Aiyoh, why ur MIL like that one? For a moment, when i read ur posting, i tot they've gone soft when they asked when ur due! WTF! Go and buy new nicer utensils!!! And tell them dont come and get it now! And she can keep all those she took??

No
Thankfully, Rylee's NO is more confined to her bearbear and my poor doggie. She doesnt shout No back to us but rather she will point her finger strictly (imitating us) and say a stern No to her Bear and my dog. When i asked her what did the Bear do wrong, she'll half gestured and half say that the Bear doesnt want to lie down. And when it's the dog, she'll say she wants her to sit down so she will run around saying "Chichi, No!, Sit!"

asked u all a qn ....

how would u ans/ what would u do if u hear this fr yr darling.

I dun wan papa. i dun wan mama. i dun wan didi, i dun wan anybody. i dun like anybody. i only like myself n i want to b alone.

see?? this is one of the shit i have to handle cos of the idiot woman! my #1 told me this .. broke my heart n my hb nearly cried when we heard this.

mylife,
for airlines if i'm not wrong, adult pay promo rate. infant pay 25% of full adult rate and not 25% of promo rate. if it's like this i'm still ok.

but if infant have to pay adult promo rate then i will also hit the roof...

Mylvera,
No problem. Will check your FB then.

Grumpus,
I saw on UOB travel website that for infant fare, it is 25% of normal fare but only applicable after paying 2 full adult fare. So it means cannot enjoy the 35% disc for both adults? But even so, it is ridiculous to charge you 3 full adult pax leh.. should be 2 full adult pax + 25% of adult pax for infant...

<font color="aa00aa">JanBB,</font>

Lunch? Shouldn't be a problem but probably need to prepare his food in the morning again lor. Gosh. Guessed what Ian did? He's a replica of Jayden liao. Last night while coaxing him to sleep as usual, he pushed his Daddy off our bed and pointed to the door, seemingly to ask him to get out! OMG! Poor Hubby, damn upset.

krystle,
yup, if you travel with infant then 2 ways to pay

1) 2 full adult pax + 25% of adult pax for infant

OR

2) 3 promo adult rate

I calculated already and option 2 is marginally cheaper than option 1. So meaning effectively no disc lor

grumpus
That is so stupid. I wanted to consider UOB promotion too for dec.. like that might as well look for promotion in tour agency.

pixie,
No lah, I don't read ABCs to him on purpose, no flashcards either. But he has lots of books on ABCs, counting etc which we will just read to him randomly. We were so surprised when he could pick out the correct alphabets from his leapfrog phonics fridge magnets according to what we asked him. I'm simply amazed that he knows all the 26 alphabets just from our random reading. But he only knows the capital letters leh...funny right?

Grumpus,
If so, it seems like they are not so sincere in the discounts loh.
In that case, I think I will not consider to bring my girl to cruise liao (just hubby and me bah).
Then are you still going?

Re: Rejecting daddy, etc
I was worried my boy will become too sticky to me when I became SAHM so I make it a point to get daddy to bath him, put him to bed, make milk for him, etc when he's around. Morning bath is usually me except weekends and daddy does his evening shower. It gives them bonding time so he won't expect mummy to do everything. It has to become a routine so they won't reject daddy lor.

yvonne
oic
x got books like these but i doubt he know. but when i ask him wheres the bird/duck/cow/horse/chicken/butterfly/apples he can point out to me lar.
my colleague's boy is a dec baby and he can count 1-20 liao leh

fast fast fast

My dear boy has developed so much on his speech this month. He can say 1-10 in both English and Mandarin, all 26 alphabets (can say all but cannot recognise all yet), he can tell us very clearly and precisely what he wants like open the door, wear shoes, go out, sit down, switch on tv, switch on lights, recognize and say a lot of animals and insects, and food. He is just like a parrot now, repeating what we say to him, can speak up to 4 syllabus now, start to make simple sentence, like meimei cry, gongong sit down, etc. And yes, have to be very careful of what we say, even if he doesn't repeat it on the spot, he would have already copied it into his harddisk :) And he likes singing, it's amazing how well he can remember the lyrics, of course not the whole song lah, but like the last 2-3 words of every sentence of the song. Simply love him so much! He is only sticky to me when he wants to drink milk followed by nap/bed time. Other times, he is ok to play with anyone.

mylife,
haha... dao bu bu!!

Ok Celeste can only say, A, B and nothing else even though I've been letting her watch Leapfrog eons ago.

Although she can say 1,2,3 to 10, she still has no concepts of counting yet. When will they learn the concept?

Big waves to all mummies.. (Hv been so drained out.. finally can hv sometime to come in and see u all)

mylvera
Hv a smooth delivery.. Jia You!

Wah.. all yr darling so fast.. mine is slowing down lor.. she isn't saying 1,2,3.. ABC also dunno.. everyday only want to watch HI-5 and Barney.. worse.. must watch until slp, dun allow us to switch off the tv. Haiz.. she is so hard to handle now. And one more thing we teach her until pek chek.. dunno is it she purposely or wat.. wen we ask her to go to daddy or pass something to daddy.. she noes who is daddy.. but wen we ask her.. "Who is he (pointing to daddy)" she'll say "Mummy". Faint! I tink she only do tat to daddy..
Actually sometimes i wonder is it becos of me.. cos i'm so tired with this 2nd pregnancy, no time to teach her 123 or ABC.. Wen we reach home already so late. She can only find entertainment through VCD but she wans us to sit beside her. but i'll doze off. Im starting to feel tat i'm a bad mummy ler.

krystle,
nope not going already.....if u and hb only then ok can get disc hehe

Yvonne,
I also make my hb bath, make milk etc. I even leave her with him alone at home while i run errands etc. But if i'm around, my girl will still insist i do everything. she will just keep saying NO NO, NO NO, and grab her diaper etc away from daddy and give to me.

grumpus,
Sometimes my boy does that too but I just heck care and ask him to go to papa! Kinda have to force it upon him but no choice lor, if I let him have his way then papa won't have to do anything and we're back to square one.

Actually everyone is guilty of letting our kids watch too much TV. I also do that especially when I'm tired and in no mood to play with him...guilty guilty. But I realised our kiddos don't learn much from TV...at least for my boy. Although he watches alot of TV but he learns more from books (read read read!), play and toys. I get so bored reading and playing the same toys with him over and over again but he's never sick of them lor...heehee.

Mylvera, have a smooth delivery tomorrow!
happy.gif

Got no time to post today cos looking after my gal. Today's children's day celebration so only 1 hr party and tomorrow got no school so decided to bring her home after the party to look after her myself these 2 days. She 'rewarded' me by not napping at all this afternoon.

Tried different methods from lying down beside her to pushing her downstairs in stroller to letting her exhaust herself while I lay on her cot bed but nothing worked. Sigh, understandably she's super cranky and sticky this evening so I tried putting her to bed at 830pm, 1 hr before her usual time. She refuse to lie down, keep wanting me to carry her from room to room so that she can sleep. I refused to do that cos can't bear her weight on my tummy for long. Hubby is happy to carry her but she rejects him. Kept on screaming and shrieking non stop. End up got no choice but to carry her from room to room until she finally lie down on my shoulder and knocked out. What a day! :p

Yvonne, i wish my gal is a tv addict, at least easier to keep her quiet. But her attention span is too short. Even though sometimes, she requests for certain VCDs. But she never sits down and watch it for long. At most, 5 mins. :p

Kitsune,
My boy is not exactly a TV addict leh. He will ask me to switch on TV when we are in the living room but he's only interested in the commercials! I'm watching it most of the time...hahaha! He also can't sit quietly to finish any TV programme...difficult lah.

Re: Sleep
So far I never regretted sleep-training my boy. He still sleeps for 2-3 hrs every afternoon and he'll fall asleep on his own in the cot within 10-15 mins. As for night time, I just put him in the cot after his milk feed and he'll sleep on his own. As for today, he drank milk at 8.30pm but still tossing and turning about in his cot while I'm surfing the net and watching TV now. No need to attend to him at all, he'll sleep when he's tired.

Yvonne, nowadays, my gal like not even keen on her favourite Ribena ad anymore. Ya, I remember you sharing your experience. My gal is super strong willed even when she was a newborn cared for by my CL, she was a screamer. She can cry/shriek non stop for 1 hour or more and worse make those vomitting sounds. And we don't look forward to clearing the mess, changing her clothes, washing her up, wash the clothes and the cot and worse she'll be wide awake after the commotion etc.

Actually, my hubby said he doesn't mind sleeping with no. 1 while I look after no. 2. But problem is hubby is a very heavy sleeper, so I also don't really trust him to look after my gal at night. He can't hear when she cries and quite a few times, I found him covering her face with his pillow that he was hugging. Sometimes he even rolled onto her arm without realising. :p
