(2007/11) November MTBs

catherine, how often is J waking up per night? my son didnt sleep thru until he turned 2.5yrs old. but it wasnt much trouble cos he only woke up 1x for milk.
some kids jus dun sleep thru the night...
Mischa is also still waking up 1-2x per night for milk/ comfort...so in my case, non of my kids slept thru the night.

gemini, I emailed you an email link to a flashcard library. Anyone keen to do their own flash cards do PM me with your email address, I'll invite you as well.

missA / MM,
J is still waking up at night at least 2x. he wakes up & drink only a small amount of milk abt 80-160ml. he sleeps at abt 830pm. i really dunno how to train him to sleep thru the night. my HB gets awaken by his cries (although he sleeps in a separate room) & he has become v frustrated & irritated. he wans me to let J cry to sleep & dun attend to him at all!

missA,
please add me in the flashcard library. [email protected]

Catherine, variety of reasons for J not sleeping. Too much stimulation before bedtime (meaning play too siong), teething & stuff... U can try to give him the EYS BBS to see if it helps!

MM, will get Weishy to buy the FM for me. Coz i think HAyley is drinking it so she might hv a better idea of which brand.

RE: Crocs Spree - Batch 2
Hi ladies, i have emailed you on the cancellation of the spree but i think some other mummies organising it. So, u might want to join them.

catherine:: Hugs. what happens if you don't give him milk? can you just pat him to zzz? cause 80mL seems like he doesn't really NEEd to drink at all. and at least 2 times is truly quite xiong... on you.

missA:: haha i no time to do but add me hahaha [email protected]

hello everyone, me back in cold cold netherlands! *brrr*

so many posts to catch up...congratz to zzz!!!

kaira had a good flite home (compared to the flite back to sg) but one thing i had not expect is that she doesn't want to sleep in her own cot when we reached home!! when in sg, cos we staying with my aunt then my parents place, we had to share the bed/mattress with her so she was sleeping with us for abt 1 month+. think she liked it too much! came back, cried buckets whenever i put her in her cot to sleep. endured 2 sleepless nites and endless crying in the day time. finally thurs nite, she is sleeping slightly better. hope she gets used to her own bed soon! can't imagine if i am to wean her off her pacifier, which she loved so much for the past 1 year, how many days of crying i have to endure! ;p Cat, so good that Jovan weaned himself off the pacifier! hope he sleeps better soon...

and hope all the bois who are unwell are on their road to recovery!

cindy, catherine, you've got mail.

catherine, perhaps the $250 will be money well spent if it works! Does Jovan sleep in the cot or with you on the bed? We find that A sleeps better if she sleep on our bed. Last night we went for class so she was already sleeping in my aunty's house when we fetch her, she did not wake up till this morning. Actually she did but I just gave her pacifier and she went back to sleep. The pacificer is still a life save at least for me. If J sleeps so little at the centre, I would expect him to KO the whole night.

MissA, i went to check the comgateway rates. They hv a base charge of US$11 for all shipment and its US$4.50 per kg (min 1 kg) and US$2.25 for half kg.

That is to say by default, first kg will be US$15.50 lah...

k@ye, this is the revised comgateway rates. I remembered they revised like Jan 2008. Previously even cheaper, but no choice la. I just wonder why. Cos I know some shipping friends here in SH. They all tell me business is bad, so I dun understand why the rates are going up instead...

Cindy: Ya me too. Too tired after delivery to care. So this time, I will go with empty bag, just bring bb clothes and my go home clothes. haha... Felt so stupid last time lugging everythg there and not use it at all!!

tinkabel, cindy, the last time I went all out to buy a receiving blanket and end up also not so necc to use. The wrap I bought from TMC is good enough and so comfy.

Been feeling so tired lately. Yesterday I went to bed together with Matt when I put him to sleep at 9 plus PM. This morning wake up still concussed. Already sleep alot. Also damn sianz at work. Lots of accounting issues this year and I just can't seem to move these issues ahead. Feeling really fed up.

Tinkabel ah, ur shipping fren will tell u some story abt the shipping rates when his boss is back in SHA after a meeting. Me cant say much coz its P&C... I received the news from my boss abt the rates....

Psst, work is work.. U re pregnant... Dun let the work stress get to u!

MissA, my cousin in law bought me a receiving blanket for Claire. The nurse at Mount A was very impressed with it and asked me where i bought it! Coz its very nice but i find it too pink for my liking!

missA:: haha receiving blanket, i reuse Travis's one looh. haha actually many things reuse are BLue, green, dark blue, white, green. hope she won't be too boyish ah! Got your email!!

tinkabel:: haha so not gg to even bring your pajamas? haha!! and yes kaye is right. WORK IS WORK. don't make it part of your life. hehe!!

cindy,
if he wakes up other than the usual 12mn & 3am timings, i can pat/rock him to sleep or give him water. but at the 12mn & 3am timings, he WANS to drink milk. he'll cry untill like he is starving & kick so hard untill i almost drop him. then he drink only 80-160ml of milk. *sigh*

k@ye,
we dun stmulate him too much in the evening. i tried BBS & teething gel. no help.

missA,
i also tot J will sleep thru if he sleeps so little in school. but no leh, he still wakes up at least 2x every night. wonder wat Shona can do with the 2hr consultation in her ofc. if she come to our house & observe for 1day & 1nite, i dun mind the $250. but $250 for 2hrs is really ex, hor?

cat:: or maybe he zzz too early? how much milk does he drink in the daytime? maybe give him more milk in the daytime? Travis also used to wake up at the 3 to 4am timing, until i realise he only drink 90 to 120mL and zzz, so end up, we let him zzz with us and since then, it's sleep through... since 10mths old. BUT now, it's another problem cause he doesn't want to sleep ALONE! sigh. problem after problem.

Catherine, how long has this been happening? Claire also got one period like that one... Ya, the milk dun finish, me will "lecture" her and after a while, she stopped waking up liao.

Thanks ueno, will check with my fren when she confirms her appointment.

ZY also prefers our big bed now, when she wakes up at wee morning like 3+, hv to transfer her to our bed to continue our sleep.. to make it worse, only i can carry her. Yest she just demanded milk at 4am+, and she really finished the full 210ml.. wondering why? (dun think chicken pox vaccine makes one so hungry rite?)

Kat ah, i think our little ones' appetite is increasing. This morning, my Mum gave Claire 240ml of milk but she still demand for food leh..

Cindy: haha same thing. During summer, Matt was ok sleeping in his cot. Then during 1 mth, I got lazy when hubby went on frequent business trips and let him sleep with me on my bed. Then weather started turning cold, we thought keep him in our bed is warmer. cham, now dunno how to move him back to his cot. Will start soon, as soon as the weather gets warmer.

k@ye, cindy:
haha I know enough shipping friends in SH to know that the industry is really doing very badly. Anyways, i dun mean to rub it in. I believe all industries are doing just as bad. Ya, with regards to my work, just bloody irritated. My work involves raising/ resolving accounting issues for the audit team. I raised a bunch of issues (some accounting, some tax) in Nov 2008 in light of these bad economic conditions. And after working on it for so long, then for most of the issues that were out of my control, they came back with answers that were not satisfactory and when we (ie me and my boss) ask more questions, they dunno the answer, hv to check again. Gosh, nothing seem to move!!! And my earnings release is due soon! Just wasting my time.

Hi,

I am a nov. 07 mommy but haven't really joined this thread. Read a lot but thread seems fast to participate.

Hope I am not too late to participate.

My girl has been sleepg t/o since 7 weeks and nvr ever work up for milk even up till now. Hv u ever tried the Gina Ford method n try to extend the feeding time. I.E. If bb cry ard 12am, try to stretch their timing to 1230am n then let them drink and slowly start to stretch week by week until they wean off the midnite feed? Tat's how it works for me. Mommies, u can try this method if u hvnt.

Sigh, diff mommies hv diff prob. For me, my girl doesnt like to drink milk since 6mths, only like to play. So every time, feeding milk is always a challenge. Her am milk intake now is only 90ml, but her last feed is like 180ml to 240ml. At times, she go on frequent milk strike like 12-20 hrs of no water no milk no food phase. Haiz so headache headache. Sometimes I dunno wat to do with her.

catherine,
according to Gina Ford not having proper naps or too many activities in the day can cause overtiredness which may cause them to wake up middle of the nite which is reverse fr wat we beleive that if they dun nap they will zzz more at nite.

Mayb u need to be more assertive with him wen he wans milk at nite like tell him in a firm voice no go back to zzz, when its morning time J can have milk? And leave the room for a few secs and come back repeat same thing. Cos for my gal wen she diff to go to zzz I will tell her in very firm voice time for bed no more playing! Than she kuai kuai go zzz, cos I seldom raise my voice on her so I guess she knows i'm really angry. :p

Anyway good luck must persevere...

Tweetie,
u also follow GF.. shakehand!

Does ur gal like solids? If so than give her milk in her food lor or give her smaller amt but more times like incld in her snack time?

Tinkabel, i know what u mean... Abt not getting the issues resolved and ppl just kept on playing taichi game!

Sigh, me so fed up. My co just announced a new year end closign again! I was like!!!!!! Dunno y i m so bz despites everything is slowing down!

In general, times are bad and ppl are not spending => leading to a downturn lor... Everyone is affected lah... But must be positive lah, if not alot of problem!

kittybride,missA,

hanns already the youngest in his class in SM, they go by year leh for this class so as he was born in nov, he is the youngest lor, the next youngest is 21 mth and a few 24 mths. but becos he is active so he acted like 24 mths too

Poochi,

Yar, follow GF on weaning her midnite feed, the rest cant follow. The 7-7 sleeping rule is almost impossible coz we realised she is a nite bird. Only sleeps after 9pm.

Solids? Sigh, it was worse... she hates cereal so badly that she will scream at the sight of it. It took us really like 6 whole months to train her to eat. Actually I dunno how to add milk in her food since she hates cereal.

Her milk strike was terrible, even though I weaned her off EBM at 14mths, intro yummy GainIQ, also like tat. It was only lately that she slowly accepted the taste of milk. One thing strange is she will ask for milk, but most of the times, she wont drink, so we dunno what she actually wants. She seems to say she want to drink but she wants me to let her drink using a syringe or cup feed. So funny rite?

k@ye:
Same same... Me also damn busy despite business slowing down. I also wonder why lor. Some more there are some pple in my dept got nothing much to do. Then I seem more gancheong abt the issues than the engagement mgr himself. Feel like telling him off!!! Then one of the engagement partners I work with alot ask me to take on his new client and my direct boss thinks I am too busy to handle another one. I go home and tell my hubby, after my boss made that comment, I just shut up, I am not going to fight to do the job, not when I know I am pregnant now and I know there are other pple in my dept quite free.

Ya I agree on ur view abt the bad times... Just hv to thank God with whatever we hv, despite the bad times. After all, we still got jobs. Hopefully thgs wil pick up soon. Sigh...

Tweetie,
is she taking other types of solid food like porridge, bread, oats? etc.. hmm u can give her food that contains dairy ie. cheese, yoghurt, pancakes? Try giving her rice bubbles conflakes with milk?

She can drink from straw btl? Mayb she wans to drink like the adults...

Tinkabel, ya.. Dun take up new jobs now unless u cleared ur old job especially now that u re pregnant.... Dun overstressed urself..

My co also none the better, got ppl in other dept.. Everyday surf net, MSN and play games one.. but still dunno what they re here for... N hor, i m the old bird in my dept... I already kept super low profile but my boss still likes to pile things on me even though her fave can do it!

The happy thing to look forward now is PAY DAY! and a Zoo trip with Claire on 24 Feb!

catherine, seems like our babies like to sleep with us, maybe you try let J sleep with you first. If he feel more secure, he may just continue to sleep.

k@ye: Wah! I'm surprised people are so free that they can have the decency to play games in office! At least do some online course to make use of the free time. Too much! =P

kaye:: haha enjoy your zoo trip!! wah that time i went super tiring.... hehe and bring change of clothes for you and hubby for water play if you gg for it haha!!!

tinkabel:: hehe all the best in moving matt back to the cot ha. we failed many times, want to move him down to mattress, also failed. haha so we just give up and let him continue to zz with us.

MissA, conclusion is DUN DO ONLINE SHOPPING!!! Hehe, comgateway still cheaper lah...

Michviv, ya.. Got one time, one of them even openly do scrapebooking!

Cindy, thanks for the advice

now then i know so many babies like to sleep with their parents! hehehe, no wonder kaira making so much noise when i insist that she sleeps in her cot :p

but i very afraid that if i let her sleep with us, she will not want her bed anymore.... :p

hello & welcome tweetie!!

u know, i am back only for a few days but i am already wishing that i am back in sg!!! LOLOLOL. jialat!

Cindy,
he sleep 830am to 7am, nap only ard 1hrs, at most 2hrs. total sleep only 11.5 to 13.5hrs. if i let him sleep later, wun tat mean he has not enuff sleep? aiyah. dilemma. he cant sleep with us on the big bed. HB dun wan. if only i sleep with him, then i scared he fall off bed again like the other time.

k@ye,
this has been happening ever since birth lor. only got 1 period of time (ard 1 months+) when he can sleep thru.

This is roughly Jovan's daily routine:
7am Wakeup + 160ml formula milk
830am Breakfast - 5 scoops of oat cereal
9am Bath
12nn Lunch - Brown rice porridge with fish/chicken & veg + Nap
230pm Wakeup + 240ml fomula milk
330pm Snack - Bread cubes
645pm Bath
7pm Dinner - Rice with fish/pork & veg
830pm 200ml formula milk + Sleep
N.B. Each scoop is 5g
His daytime nap is still very inconsistent.
Sometimes he will take a morning nap after his morning bath, skip his mid-noon nap & nap again in the late noon.
The total duration of his daytime nap can range anything from 30min to 2hrs.

Catherine, ur HB champion liao! He wants his precious sleep but dun do anything to resolve Jovan's problem.

Does Jovan hv any special thing he needs to hv for sleeping? Like Claire, she needs to hv a hanky or bite her soft toys before she can sleep.

Wow, just now got show in my co.... one of the colleagues called another "Stupid".. Now all 3 of them at HR room.... Me really very stressed up.... That's y writing this post! :p

k@ye, that's y i feel quite bad insisting that she sleeps in her own cot, like depriving her of sthg like that :p

btw mummies, kaira still has only 2 teeth! wonder when she will catch up with the rest here...hehehe.

dreamer: you're not the only one. Ethan has been sleeping in his own room since birth. Even when we go on holiday. I don't let him sleep with us and he sleeps in his own cot. Heard lots of stories from ex-colleagues on how hard it is to wean the children off their bed so we started early.

Catherine: My hubby also very particular that he does not get woken up cos he has to be on call sometimes so no choice - even when I was breastfeeding, I had to crawl quietly out of bed to the living room and feed Ethan there. haha...

was on urgent leave today. My little girl fever fever up to 39.9deg last nite.. went to the pd this morn already, no systoms at the moment, hope its just teething. There is always some sort of virus floating around. stupid virus!

actually ashlyn also sleeps in her own room since birth. we only tried to let her sleep with us 1 nite a few weeks ago cos its super hot and she cant sleep. Our room has aircon and hers is only fan...haahaahaa but conclusion is that we cannot sleep together. She turns around in her sleep and use her head and grind into my back and kick her daddy. We all had a bad sleep.

I wonder how the rest of u can allow yr babies to sleep together... u mean they kuei kuei sleep one position ah...

anyways, i am selling away some vitamins...haahaa read the link for the reasons... let me know if u are interested.

I am Gillian.

Hahaha... remember I changed my nick?

Dears, I'm going for a trip to Hk in April. Can tell me what's good to buy there?

Catherine, I dunno if Shona can do anything for u, but she has a pair of twins who sleep through at birth. U have to follow her method and review. she's a nice lady but as with all stuff about children, it's very subjective.

Grace: Haha...you and I can hi-5! Ethan moves around alot too! We kena karate chopped in his sleep last time when we were staying overnight at a hotel. haha. His daddy say, cannot sleep properly cos he kena hit more than me. =P

Tinkabel, can only update u on Monday! hahaa...

MM, no need to help me get the Japanese FM back lah... My Mum just told me an Uncle is going over to HK. So getting him to get it back for me!

Michviv, we also kena karate chopped by Claire.. But i m used to it and take it as massage coz she usually kick me on my shoulders... But, we dun really co-sleep with her unless she s sick. But we all slept in the same room!
