Cindy, the bag was not wet coz my hubby put it in an upright position! I din scold hubby coz i wanna make him guilty!

Today really not my day... Just got my letter of increment and bonus.... Wow... so LITTLE!!! Me now super sian... Was just telling my hubby that i rather they dun give me the variable bonus but give me 10% pay increment... I hate my co always give us stupid excuses on the increment & stuff... Plus with a smart superior, who never fight for us... U know hor, my co damned champion one. Got us to do the perfomrance appraisal but hor, our bonus & increment is not based on that leh... Its so STUPID!!! SIAN SIAN SIAN...

kaye and sharron:: Hou ning powder, is it for cough and phlegm only? Flu can use ma? expensive but if it works miracles then can liao loh better than see them suffering. Only EYS got sell ma? those medicine shops got ma?

i just got her pearl powder for the phelgm and it seems to work quite a bit. its expensive too but i am not complaining cos its working, the phelgm was stuck there for ages....
 
Playdays:
they supposed to email me the tx details on sat but they sent to the wrong addy. they just resent me so i'm going to do the transfer later during lunch break. yeah! we are going to meet each other every sat starting on Jan 10. so excited!

is there any TCM in SG for young kids like ours? i know there's a "Yu Guo" opp Kebangan MRT but i dun find it good. somehow i feel tat they give general med for the illness. how did u get Haley to drink the bitter chinese med? i also prefer TCM coz it cure the root & works better. infact, me & HB are still taking C med almost everyday.

i'm so happy! Jovan can walk now! just in time for all the festive holidays and the playdays class =) i fetched him on thurs & he walked all the way from the middle of the room in infantcare towards me. after tat, it's just non-stop walking at home. we took him to a playground on sat. he was so happy to be walking ard. v cute when he walks. he'll place his hands in mid-air just above his waist or place his hands flat on his chest. the way he walks is like a little duckie. KAWAII!

The Hou Ning powder costs $61 for a small bottle. Pearl powder is good also for the skin! A colleague told me that her fren was fed pearl powder regularly since young... Wow, her fren skin is super fair!

Sharron, where is your office har? Me works in Tg Pagar.... Will let you know if i need ur help to get it!
 
Talking about walking, Claire walked like a tightrope acrobat! And hor, now she will wan to hold on to something in her hand to walk!

At least now got lesser ugly bruises (from crawling) on her legs!
 
K@ye, Catherine - My office is at China Square Central, the tiny bottle of hou ning powder costs $55 after the 10% discount. The EYS is only abt 8 mins away from my office! Let me know if you want to get it and how many bottles ok. I kiasu i bought 2 bottles at one go because they
are so tiny but it worked for Ash!

Catherine - I thought barley water will create more phelm for the toddlers unless it is the china barley type. I give ash china barley all the while.....

Cindy - Yes I love the setup of Playdays and I think the staff are professional so far. I realise they have alot of ang mo clients so I hope they will not treat us otherwise! Heeheehee

As for the hou ning powder - i know the normal herbal shop also sells them but I am not certain about their quality - thats why i rather spend a little bit more on EYS....

my C is just the opposite, now she's learning to crawl! ahahahaa... managed a few crawls on the foam mat but once she hits the floor; she got all slippery and will fall flat on her tummy; then it's wailing time to get our attention! :D

Walking - Ash still dont know how to walk leh....he is lazy and refuse to walk even though we hold his arms and help him to walk.... sigh.....

1> salbutamol/rhinathiol - to clear airway and phlegm
2> pedicof syrup - for cough and running nose (may cause drowsiness)

I din let her down the whole bottle, once her condition seems to get better, i stop the medi. Cos it makes her a bit drowsy n "blur blur". PD says intention is to make her rest n sleep more cos she too active. (Anyway after a few bouts, she can fight off drowsiness also.. hmm)

Her phelgm clears liao, only left some dry cough, but not really bothering her.

Hope Claire recovers!

initially she also takes it like candy.. but after a few times, she fights off so violently that bo bian, gotta add to her fav milk!

ok the pearl powder is count by "fen". i buy 6 fen, they weigh it on the machine, its really little. its real tiny pearls and they grind it into powder. it makes 12 packets of powder. Really tiny amount. i have to feed 1 packet - split into morn and night to clear the phelgm. once phelgm is gone, i can feed like 1 packet once a week. btw it costs $96 for these... so little hor.

how u feed the hou ning, and how long can yr small bottle last?

oh dear, i dunno if the barley is the china barley. i bought it from a trusted chinese medicine hall & told them it's for my baby. there's no labelling on the package coz it's not those pre-packed ones, it's packed on the spot by the person at the medicinal hall. in the pack, some are big & white and some are small & slightly black. is urs like tat?
i think i'll ask my chinese medicine hall if they have hou ning powder first. will let u know i need u to help me buy. thanks so much

my PD always give Jovan rhinathiol for his cough & phlegm too. i checked with my PD before - flumicil can be given for bad phlegm.
 
Hou Ning,
I fed G with Hou Ning a few months ago when he had serious cough and phlegm and it din really helped. How to feed: just pour the contents (whole bottle) into a chinese soup spoon and add some warm water, stir and mix well then feed. For those really mild case, can feed Ba Bao San from EYS too. I bought quite a bit to stock up when EYS was having some sale at Raffles Place MRT last week.
 
Grace - i feed him 1/3 of the powder twice a day in the morning and night. The bottle is smaller than the bao zhi wan bottle i think. I will mix it with water and feed him from his teaspoon.

Maybe I would let ash try the pearl powder since its good for his skin...hiakhiakhiak...

Mummies, just to share also (advice from chinese sinseh), can try cooking porridge with cordyceps once a week for your todds to strengthen their lungs and health. Very easy steps, just double boil the cordyceps (3 to 4 strands) with lean meat and wolfberries (gou qi zi)then add the rice grains to cook. My boy loves it, can finish one big bowl!

Caution: can only feed when your todds are clear of cough and phelgm hor.
 
Wah! How come everyone is so experienced with TCM? Dun really believe in it leh...blame it on my education. =P Let me ask my hubby and see what he says. hehe.

The other time PD gave a med to either vomit out the phelgm or output the phelgm from below. So Isaac vomit out but I can't see the phelgm though and after that no phelgm. Hope Claire get well soon.

Don't be hard on yrself... Isaac been fussy during these few nights not sure is it teething as so far he only got 7 teeths. Just hope these period will pass...Hope Claire is feeling better.

We still need to catch him when he runs toward us...still very kan cheong when walking but can see more stable already.

But he can open his mouth for us when we asked him to. Very cute. And he can call his own name e.g. I-DECK insead of Isaac.

Poissons, CORDYCEPS porridge!!! Garreth knows his stuff boy! Errmm, actually hor cordyceps brewed with "water duck" is even nicer but i think its difficult to find "water duck" now. Mabbe i shd do that for Claire!

Yalor, just now the EYS staff told me not to feed her Hou ying powder first. If its really serious then feed her that. They advised me to get the Ba Bao san instead. So me now, also dunno what to buy....

Michviv, TCM is like health supplements to us. Coz sometimes sick and tired of taking the western medication that made us like groggy and drowsy.

mambobb, HT barley cereal was one of the first cereals i let kaira try. she was OK with it, in fact think she quite liked it...but that was like when she was 6-7 months old.
 
Re: Weaning off pacifier
I have been trying to wean matt of for the past week. He's been quite successfully although he doesnt sleep as well. In fact for the past 3-4 days, he's been waking up ard 6 plus and we cant pat him back to sleep no matter what. But I suspect that is also partly cos he is hungry since it's winter time and he burns more fats. Will watch and see how. But he starts to suck his thumb and sleeves a bit. Need to monitor man.

Weishy:
We have decided on a very last minute trip to HK and will leave tomorrow. Do you know of a gd place to shop for TCM stuff? My mum ask me to get some stuff but I know nuts. Also, any recommendations of gd places to stop. I am tired of that few brands I always look at like viola by donna and bv blu. Hopefully got gd sales. My hubby going along, so unlikely to shop without restrain haha

my gal can walk oredi; albeit very SLOWLY. it's just that only now then she started to learn to Crawl! :D and she's still a bit timid to walk in the presence of others - but quite garang at home; will follow me from bedroom to kitchen.

Pacifier,
i've weaned G off since he was 4mths and was kena scolded by my dad as cruel...now he knows my good intentions cos' he shakes head whenever he sees kids as big as 3 or 4 yrs old still sucking paci in shopping malls. G also sometimes suck his sleeves like Matt..till fall asleep, find it disgusting..so whenever he sucks i will try to pull the sleeves away until he pek chek...hahaha..or during the day, i let him wear the sleeveless top so he has nothing to suck. I'm so evil.

Walking:
G can't walk yet too. But he's starting to appreciate the push walker these few days and tried some baby steps in it. Have stopped letting him sit the walker (anyway he hates it now)cos we realised he has been tip toe-ing when cruising around with the furniture.
 
catherine & k@ye, i still not prepared to weaned A off the pacifier esp now she's at infant care. With the pacifier she wont get to lick all the toys at infant care so less chance of contacting germs, just my way of thinking hehe.

dreamer, every term at the Little Gym thr's one particular week that we get to bring a friend for free but it is usu during middle of the term and the period you are back is actually the beginning of the term so if you want to attend have to pay for trial @ abt $40.

kitty, i prob can meet u tmr evening, ok??

Yesterday i babysit A and many mishaps happened. Told my hubby some of the incidents and kena scolded from him.

1. Brought her to playground and forget to spray mosquito repellent. She got one bit which caused her ankle to swell till her feet cant fit into her shoes.

2. Brought her to dinner and she insisted on carrying her phonics bus toy herself, then she fell and caused her knee cap to bleed a little.

3. After dinner, brought her to supermarket at Fusionpolis. She was so happy cos can run ard freely, my dad was looking after her. Then while we were making payment, suddenly we realised she was squashed between the shopping cart and the lane which has sharp edges. She was stuck and cant moved.She was in shock and cried non stop. Even the cashier panic and gave her a packet of cookies.

4. At home, while I was washing the milk bottles, she also came into the bathroom. Then suddenly heard her cries, she lifted up the toilet seat and then close it on her her little finger

langlao: ahiyo.. hug hug to A.. now most of the BBs here know how to walk liao.. must be very careful liao.. they are more curious and want to walk by themselves instead of us carrying them.. Me not so looking forward to Cailyn walking even tho I hope she can start to walk a few steps.. haha.. dilemma..

Like Claire, super hyper active & curious... Everything must also touch or explore... Like, she saw the tea cup filled with hot tea... She also wanna touch... so the evil me, will bring her hand to touch the cup.... Hehee... The next time, i said, "Hot hot" .... She dun dare to touch one....

Walking: E cant walk yet. But he is learning to. Went shopping with him yesterday and he kept wanting to get down and walk. Me & my HB gotta hold his arm and walk throughout. The sales girl was looking at him and he "hao lian" and smiled at the sales girl. My back is aching a little but guess it's worst for my HB coz he gotta bend down quite a bit. Hee...the only advantage of being short

Poissons: Wow, yr cordyceps porridge reminds me of my pregnancy days. Used to drink those. And now, i blame the Cordyceps for building up E's lung whenever he screams the roof down. Ha ha...

Ba Bao San (BBS): My MIL always buy and feed E with BBS from EYS for all occasions (teething, flu, cough, etc) and i think it's good. How much did u pay for a pack during sale?

Langlao: Ooppss...Sayang A. But sometimes, these kinda incident cant be avoided. You cant be holding on to her hands 24/7. Few months ago, E was sitting on the floor and he also fell and hit his head. Most importantly, the adults shld stay calm and dun over react. Else will scare the kids. My MIL always very kan chiong for small little thing and will "OOHH" very loud, then E will "Sai Nai" and start crying. Dun blame yourself huh.
 
Langlao, hhehe... Must know their weakness use it to our advantage... Observe A more and see what she s afraid of....

But one thing i note abt Claire, even though she got hurt at times... The next time, she tried the same stunt again... She will do it with caution! *Faints*
 
Langlao: Can A stay inside the play gym u bought? I boght the same one for E, and now he can climb outta the play gym within seconds. So terrible. So i can foresee him getting injured more once he starts walking. Jia luk.

dun feel bad, think kids these days are different from the past..they juz can't stay still for even 1 sec! my boy also prone to falls and knocks, saturday juz got a small baluku at my fren's place while cruising along their TV console. Maybe u shld get a safety gate for ur kitchen? I placed one to bar G from entering..so hazardous for him to go kitchen and ransack my drawers of scissors and knives.
 
poisson, i considered the safety gate but then my dog cant access her food & toilet. For the other toilets, i will shut the doors when not in use.

ya. Isaac also want to touch things, so hot things if he want to touch, let him touch if it's warm and then tell him hot and make a face so painful.

That day he took a pen draw a blue line on our bed sheet so we purposely make a fuss. We said "hor" and etc...so told him to quickly give me back the pen and he did. Then I show him the ink mark he made. So told him to kiss the bedsheet and he did. Then next time, he took the same pen, I told him abt the ink mark, he guai guai returned to me. And will look for the ink mark on the pen. ha...ha....


Langlao:

I still put Isaac in the exersaucer or playpen and asked maid to look after him. We will put him in the playpen after dinner. I also got the gate from Wennie but still yet to use it as afraid too flimsy.

I give Isaac HT cereal since 6 months till now. I dun know it's tasty or not but he takes it. I usually mix it with his milk

just now HB called and told me the nanny called him and said my gal fell onto the floor and knocked her head till got one big buah luku... the nanny knows i will get pissed so she dare not call me. i also complaint to HB how can she lie on floor (coz she was trying to crawl but tummy was on the floor) and KNOCK her head till like dat rite? must be fell from the sofa or from walking position and fell head down lor... grrr.... later i go n pick her up not sure wana make a fust or not (even when HB said it should just let it go... sigh!!!)

I think i m the most gungho one liao... I let Claire enter the kitchen.... but with a watchful eye.... Will scold her when she tried to ransack the drawers and stuff!
