i suggest you bring bb to see your PD.
last time i also worried and HB said so long my gal eat, even if no wt gain also nvr mind. but he is NOT a PD mah, so when we went for my gal's chk up, i ask the PD.
she prescribe some appetite booster for my gal - mix into her milk (but we only do it for the nite feed when she will just "gong gong" drink w/out much fussing...) it does help lor, coz now her wt gain is better liao, and we stop giving her the booster oredi.

just saw 2 more lower incisors erupting... so happy! suddenly C has 4 teeth sprouting all at the same time!!! ahahhaa... and i thot i'd have a bo gay gal for the longest time!

mummies, seems like kaira is "adjusting" herself to drop her afternoon milk feed .... this whole week she didn't take her milk in the afternoon before her nap.

any of ur babies (ooops, or rather toddlers) doing the same?

weishy, here also very dry ...... and best part is, i haven't found a place that sells humidifier!! asked the locals and they are like, juz put pieces of wet cloth (or pails of water) around the house lor....no need to waste this kind of $$... they really very "jie shen" (to put it nicely).... hahahaha... sometimes i so scared kaira will nose bleed ...

thank God so far ok. but due to the bad weather, the cough is taking so long to heal ....

A friend of mine gives her girl Pedisure. Its for fussy eaters and her girl takes to it well. U might wanna try. Dreamer, Europeans in general are very frugal one... Plus hor, due to geographical location and stuff... I think humidifier is expensive there too!

As for Kaira cough, mabbe try double boiled pears with snow fungus for her? It might help!

hi ladies, so long never post.... just reading all the postings took me 2 hours.. hahaha..

I am tired as I just started work at my new place, busy busy busy with so many things to learn. But happy la..

Food: J has not been eating well for a couple of weeks too.. rejects his own food. So, now, we feed him from the adult's table (we take care of the salt input) and he eats better. Doesn't want porridge or anything from his own.

I just let him cos I'm desperate for him to eat. so worrying..yesterday night he had choc fudge cake, tofu, steam fish, soup, green veg.. all from the adult's table. And, he's so mobile yesterday he ran from the toilet to the living hall naked after his shower. My mum was laughing and laughing.

Milk: J is a milk boy. he takes almost the same amount of milk with or without solids. He needs his milk before he hits the pillow. But these 2 days, he doesnt finish the feed anymore, but still wake up at night to finish his milk! Argh.... what to do? my son... hahaha

NUK LATEX TEATS

Hi Mummies,

I have questions here on NUK Latex Teats. As I am using it for the first time on Kicia, may i asked:-

1. which way to the teat? The dent on the teat should be facing upward?

2. How many type of NUK Latex teats are there? I read from the website there are several types for thin and thick flow. But when i buy from KP, i realised there is only one type and differentiated by stages 1,2,3 only.

thanks for all the warm wishes for ZY, seems like its only cough n phlegm, but each time she coughs, its quite bad. Only slight fever, so juz took medication n rest n drink lotsa H20. For once, she actually drink only half her usual milk feed - she used to love her milk a lot! Just hope she recovers soon. Gotta go carry her liao.. machiam koala bear now

the whole us facing upwards when u feed to allow the air the run thru wen she suck. For NUK they are differntiated by the stages (mths)and 3 sizes in SmallHole (water) / Medium HOle (Milk) and Large Hole (thicker feeds)- its shd be indicated on the packaging. Use the M size for the milk.
One thing to note abt NUK is that when bb gets older u may need to poke more holes on the teat for faster flow.

oh dear... hope its minor. H one was bad. Ya drink more H20. H also rejected milk cos of the phlegm. Tink rest is more impt for them when sick, try give her lesser but more times.

kittybride: your hubby is a gp? yah, told hubby he is not a gastro paed and luke has gone from 8kg to 7kg now.. how much weight does he want luke to lose before bringing him for check?! discuss with hubby and dad today and decided to bring him to see his gastro paed in kkh but the next available apptmt with this gastro paed is mid jan next yr!! so asked for earlist apptmt with a gastro paed consultant and that's 23rd dec..

cant help u cos i only use NUK teats for the 1st mth or so then i changed all to avent liao. Cos i find the latex teats discoloured easily after sterilization (maybe 2 wks or more?)

kat, kaira also cough and phlegm for close to 2 weeks liao .... still coughing abit hear and there. hope ZY recovers soonest!

k@ye, thanks for your suggestion abt the pear and snow fungus....thing is, i haven't seen any chinese pears here before.... will keep a keen eye on it! now i ocassionally boil ginger/honey/lemon and let her drink abit. i find this combination works for adults very well. but dun dare to give her too much to drink ... so like not much effect on her... hehehe.

Ya, i also heard that latex teat discoloured easily vs silcone ones.

Currently Kicia can only use flat teat type, dont hve to be latex. Maybe i shld switch her to silcone flat teat type.

maybe u can get ur mom to buy for u the pear and u can make it whilst in spore. Like k@ye I also give Hazel wen she's better. Its suppose to be gd for lungs and throat. I add in red dates, bei xing &amp; nan xin (bitter and sweet apricot kernels), white fungus and pear, I jus let her drink the H20. U can add alil rock sugar.

Pig07: I've been using NUK latex cos its the only teat that Ethan accepts. Refuses to drink from Avent etc. sigh...There are 2 types of latex teats, the normal ones and the wide neck ones. The wide neck teat is supposed to be closest in texture and feel to Mother's breast. True that the teat gets worn out quite fast but later when your girl is older, can change once every few months so it lasts longer. =) One way to make the teats last longer is to buy more bottles. We have 5 NUK wide neck bottles at home.

hubby bought both the powdered pediasure and the liquid premixed pediasure that comes in cans, luke refused the powdered pediasure but thankfully took 50mls of the liquid one via spoon at breakfast and lunch today

RE enrichment classes
can i ask what they do in playdays? the trial was on mini bubbles?

does anyone here attend kindermusik,GUG,JG or shichida?Is shichida really as great as the ads?

luke's attending kindermusik now and will be starting shichida in jan.

i'm wondering whether GUG or JG is better. my older girl attended GUG when she was 10-20m and has been at JG from 20m til 3yrs. I find that they are quite different, GUG more on phonics and literacy and JG more on confidence and creativity. Don't have the resources to attend both, anyone has amy comment? TIA

Cindy: When are you due? I thought it was in April? Have signed Ethan up for the class on Saturday but have been put on waitlist. They will confirm with me this week if he is accepted.

Dun worry bout missing classes. I think that will be the case for me too cos of business trip but its not confirmed yet so lets see la.

Fushiastar: I wrote a short review last month -

Playdays: The 2 teachers are very interactive and personal - they remember parents and babies names well and ask alot about the child. The whole lesson is very much like a Julia Gabriel playnest lesson. There is free play, story time, arts and craft, snack time and music time. Ethan thoroughly enjoyed himself. The founder of the centre actually came in to play the keyboard!

Ethan and I also did trials at GUG and JG. I agree with your assessment but I preferred the project work time at JG which allowed the kids to get down and dirty. Playdays is similar to JG in terms of lesson format but in newer surroundings.

I've actually signed up for a trial session next sunday but thinking of not going since I've got my mind set on playdays and some of my other friends mentioned GUG not very 'clean' hehe. and my hubby and I absolutely LOVED the environment at playdays.

am trying out Silcone NUK teat soon. Hope she can accept it.. Currently CL is using M teat for breastfeed. Was worried a bit too fast for newborn initially. But since she is drinking well, i tink its not going to make sense for me to 'u-turn' to S teat now.. kekeke..

Ya..hope she will no longer lives in her usa time zone soon so that we all can sleep well. Would like to hve kiros back home soon but was worried that Kicia's cries will wake him up in the middle of night. Currently Kiros is putting up at my sister's and he is doing perfectly fine.

Cindy: ORRRrrrr, I see. Aiya, dun worry. You can probably make it up since you're going for C-Sect. GUG classes feel much smaller than Playdays (PDS)cos the rooms are smaller and the toys look much more worn out. There is no snack provided too unlike at PDS. Think save your $$$ la. hehe...but up to you cos you may want to see how Travis reacts to their Zoophonics.

Kitty: Sign up for a trial in January la! =) I didn't know you guys were catholic. St Mary of the Angels is such a beautiful church. I go to St Ignatius. Ethan can never sit thru the homily and always runs around outside with his gf. haha.

i used to go Risen Christ in TPY before i move to Teban. So far i find St Marys still quite nice la. Chloe is more 'vocal' now so she will 'disturb' the congregation sometimes
and it gets worst if we are seated in the children's area, she tend to join the other 'vocalists' there, then it is really havoc liao... i dun thk the parents can concentrate at all! good thing is that she still dare not 'walk' so she stays PUT with us throughout.

wah E so 'hiong' one ah, oredi got another GF in church liao ah.

For playdays, I tink make up muz do within the term so if you plan not to go last lesson, must go for makeup earlier during the term.
