(2007/11) November MTBs

I think sharron suggested the tea room at regent hotel rite? everyone cool with that place? if yes, we can confirm it there. cos the other 2 places i cant make reservation n its not as spacious as the regent. besides regent hotel high tea is from 1-6pm so we can accommodate both sets of mummies. how?

langlao3, no. Isaac has been sitting when he was 7 months, 8 months he was crawling and 9 months 2 little teeth were out. Since then only 2 teeth. But he has been drooling, so I suspect more are coming out. He can stand in his playpen and walk when assisted. When we make the lion dance sound, he can dance.

Is yr bb like that?

mummies, just to share:
I dun get a 5 point harness. My stroller is combi model which can open and close with 1 hand. And has backward and foreward handling. It has slightly big wheels and a basket below. Unfortunately, I can't remember the model. I think bigger wheels better, think more stable.

I will bring Isaac in the pram then have a toy infront of the pram e.g. a leapfrog that sings while I go on to buckle him. And also clip a portable fan on top of the pram. And then we move on and he seems to sit quietly. But usually we go to the park.

Ueno,
can i help out a bit too? Here's the last list. I also agree that we shld settle for Regent hotel to accommodate all timing, but do u think the hotel is ok with some mummies coming 2-3 hours later (assuming we start at 1pm)

3 Oct 2008 - Regent Hotel High tea from 1pm to 6pm at $36+++

Other alternatives:
1) PS Cafe at Palai Renaissance
2) Marmalade Pantry at Palai Renaissance
3) Royal Copenhagen Cafe at Takashimaya

1. sharron - 12pm OR 3.30pm
2. S@L - 12pm
3. skye skye - 12pm or 3.30pm
4. lazykat - 12pm OR 3.30pm
5. happy
6. plumsource - 12pm - Regents hotel
7. tinkabel 12pm OR 3.30pm
8. dokiesim - 3.30pm
9. ueno (after 2pm)
10. gillian (after 2pm) - Royal Copenhagen
11. langlao - 3.30 pm

Any mummies, how abt Rachel, keen to join us?

Aww, how come the boys are more well behaved than gals???

Claire has this annoying habit of biting the hanky till the fibres come out and wants to eat the fibre. We caught her eating paper last nite. She screamed when we tried to dig the paper out from her mouth!

Also, my Mum told me that she has learnt a new trick. Standing on the stool to play with the telephone! Faints!

K@ye,
ZY can hi-5 Claire also.. MIL juz caught her yesterday eating paper.. and she close her mouth so tightly that really gotta pry open then can dig out the remains.. i hope she is not eating newspaper.. And yes, she has been playing with our housephone (tho she prefers handphone) - been thrown on the floor so many times that prob hv to change soon.

Rachel,
i tried giving her a toy or something but it will juz end up on the floor, cos she will juz throw. And the moment i place her in the stroller, she will stand up.. gosh.. even if i manage to buckle her, she will juz twist and stand up, so really give up after many tries.

lazykat, my toy hooks round the front of the pram and won't drop one e.g. Velcro or button kind. Think better dun give those toys will drop, if not, we adults get frustrated and bbs get the chance to drop the toys.

Maybe try to associate good things with the pram for now, e.g. maybe you can play her favourite game on the pram or give her her favourite cookies on the pram. Slowly she likes the pram, maybe easier? Maybe you can also put a bb toy to sit in the pram to show her that her favourite toy can sit nicely in the pram and then you praise the toy. And see her reaction.

Just my suggestion.
happy.gif

Rachel,
thanks for the suggestion, will go try it out, but cos my stroller is heavy to begin with, so i think i will stick to my beco carrier if i am going out solo with her for now.

Welcome Ueno!, no prob decided not to get the cup holder at the moment..seems no use for that. will see how if can find a cheaper alternative...hubby says i m mad to pay so much for a cup holder...so he will be my cupholder for the time being *LOL..

Sharron/Lazykat/Ueno,i can make it if the timing is between 12-4pm. I take ur suggestions for the Regent so that can accomodate 2 groups of mummies.

Welcome Rachel! Do join us for the gathering!

Poissons, shipment stuck last week-delay ! It should reach me quite soon. dunno what happened so thats nothing i can do also.

Ueno: Wow to yr 100kg of luggages. Bet u've lots to unpack:)

Rachel: Welcome. Our boys share the same birth date. Just turned 10months yest.

Sharron: We attended the Rhythem in me trial class with Grace Kids last month. U can visit Eagan's blog to view the pic. Not too bad but thot the toddlers shld enjoy more since there's lotsa dancing and jumping arnd.

Motion Sickness: I realise E has motion sickness. He'll throw up if we feed him (milk) immediately after car ride. We fed him porridge at abt 6pm last night, then we went out shopping and offered him milk at abt 1030pm which is way beyond his feeding time. And he threw up ALL his milk including some porridge. Sigh...so ke lian.

ueno, i'll try to reach Regent by 2pm latest.

Rachel, our babies' milestones are pretty similar. Now she's can walk with assistance and still only 2 teeth.

k@ye, lazykat, yesterday brouhgt ash to sentosa. She pretended to read the sentosa map/brochure and then bit a pc of paper off. I was trying hard to open her mouth to dig it and my mum told me she's guai guai spit it out later. Apparently she does it all the time, faint!

ueno,

Regent is perfect as it allows for both sittings. BTW you mention you have the 50% voucher for gym trial, I'm interested
happy.gif

Sharron, so you won't be joining us for the high tea?

Any mummies have tried teaching the babies sign language?
I have only been doing it on and off with Luis but he is able to 'sign' for milk whenever he requires it. I was shocked when he first did it but now, if you mention to him "nai nai?" he will immediately do the 'sign' for it followed by a desperate giggle and assumes the feeding position!!!! Soo funny and cute at the same time!
I am now teaching him to sign for 'water' and 'pain', 'yes' and 'no'. You should try it, it is amazing how fast they pick it up!
He also signs for 'more' (after snacking) and hi five.

Poisson. I think Garreth is very able to do signs with his very distinct wave.

plumsource,
luis is such a smart boy! yeh..you rem garreth's distinct wave! we are still teaching him the signs and so far besides waving, he can hi-five, shake hands and clap hands. For milk sign, when we show him, he will flash his megawatt smile but he doesn't sign back yet..he juz like to wave and wave..haha..

plumsource: Yup, saw u communicating with L using sign language at Sharron's place, so cool & interesting:) And yes, Garreth's version of "Twisting bye bye" is so so cute and funny.

My HB taught E to raise his hand when crossing the rd, he nw raises his hand whenever we tell him that we're crossing the rd:)

Oh ya, and he learnt something bad too. He'll mimic and pretend to cough whenever he hears anyone of us cough, then he smile aft coughing. He thot we're playing with him.

lazykat, I would love to join but I am a working mum.

3rd oct is on a fri, u mummies dun need to work? All tai tai...

Thanks for the invitation.

langlao3, hee...hee.... I am glad that he is not the only bb with less teeth. He is still quite botak, wonder when the hair will come on?

cactusnah, mine is not popped naturally, done C-section as my pelvic was small, so gynae advised c-section. What is yr weight of yr bb? Mine ard 9 kg plus.

mummies, I also teach Isaac signs, he only knows milk and understands "all done" sign. I will go on to increase a few more signs. Hmmm... pain sign is a good one.
happy.gif

I also showing him flashing cards, the flash cards, we made ourselves as need them in big words as bb can't see well at this stage, not sure he understands but I just do it and read to him.
happy.gif

Anyway I will sending Isaac to Schida class next month, I will be glad to share some materials if mummies are interested, provided there is no clause that say can't share materials.

cactusnah

yup, mine also home delivery but running low.
this 1.5kg seems slightly cheaper too. but heavy to carry only... hee hee...

rachel, ashlee's hair also grows very slowly. In fact most of us here are not satisfied with our babies' hair growth haha.

RE: signs
ashlee can use her hand to sign no more, goodbye, hi-5. She either clap her hands or use her hands to hold each of my wrist to clap my hands. If she does not want something, she'll shake her head. If she wants something, she's stick out her hand and make a noise. This week my mum taught her dancing by shaking both arms and turning her body. When she's sleepy, she'll rub her right eye and sings her own lullaby (er er en, er er en...)

i think most mummies r ok with Regent hotel so we shall confirm that then?

wish kaira can sign for her milk instead of juz howling!!! hahaha....she always cry until jialat jialat when she wants milk ... nowadays, i try to teach her to say "milk milk" ...but end up she says "mum mum" or "ma ma" ...=p and continue crying!! she's one hungry one.

want to ask, any of your babies like to put the entire pacifier into their mouths...and i mean the WHOLE pacifier? kaira has been doing that this week.... previously she will try but cannot get the whole pacifier in (cos we changed to NUK, slightly bigger than her bibi pacifiers)... but today, i caught her with the WHOLE NUK pacifier in her mouth and she was going to close her mouth...gave me a shock......now i muz go find bigger pacifier !!!

WHy is her mouth so BIG?? she bo-hair bo-gay but tua-chui!!!

dreamer,
his hair is really long now, i've been trimming the sides for him for almost 1yr. will bring him for a proper haircut soon!

plumsource,
i will bring the voucher for u.

dreamer, ashlee also uses nuk's 0-6 mths. So far she din try putting the entire pacifier into her mouth, she just take it out and put it back and if upside down she'll turn it right side up again. guess her mouth not so big as i bought her the 6-12 months pacifier but she din like.

hi k@ye - can i still place an order for both sprees? I am quite lost now - dont know how many balloons should i order
sad.gif
should i order say 3 each for each design? Need to order ribbon? So sorry - very swamped this whole week! its my first time ordering and i know u did guide the mummies how to place an order - could you please guide me one more time? THANKS!!
happy.gif

ueno - many thanks for organising the high tea - so lets go to regent on Oct 3!

rachel - welcome welcome!
happy.gif

happy.gif

lazykat & k@ye,
Eliza can hi-5 ZY & claire too. ha...she's fast with her chewing, once i was at Borders, and gave her this plastic cover with cloth book side, and she chewed/licked off the sticker price tag! really gotta watch her! so worried she'll ingest some poisionous ink on the paper.

Eliza's enjoying her clapping hands for now..but no signing yet. I tried teaching her milk, please, thank you, no more & sleep but i guess gotta just wait.

Ellza's sick again
sad.gif
this time she got sore throat, and her crying's half the loudness..so she also talks less. she'll cough cough and nothing seems to get cleared. it usually gets worse at night cos she can't sleep well, in the daytime she's her usual happy playful self.
poor gal, she's sick almost every month since june lei. hubby say next time shouldn't bring Eliza out le...germs flying everywhere. :S

hi k@ye - no worries, i managed to figure out how to order and have PM you. Its ok if i am too late ya...will order the next round.

skye skye - hope Eliza gets well soon! Ashton is also having running nose and cough. Brought him to his PD this afternoon.... i was just wandering if i should bring him to TCM - like Eu Yan San....

Ladies - chat again - need to catch some sleep. Only had 3 hours of sleep for the last 2 days so i am now EXHAUSTED! Have a good weekend!

Cheerio
Sharron
happy.gif

Sharron & Catherine, got your orders liao!

I will be placing the orders tomorrow at office. HAhah... Co bo liao policy of working 1 Sat each mth!

Dreamer, ur description of Kaira is so funny. Claire also got one big mouth too.. I do agree that Nuk pacifiers are smaller... Claire using Avent 6-18 mths pacificer!

Langlao, actually stated in my contract that i have to work 5.5 days week but Mgt so called allowed us to work 1 Sat each mth.

The policy got complicated when my boss implemented that stupid lunch duty during Mon-Fri. And what pissed me off is my boss's low EQ. Now, i know y my dept turnover so high. I m the last one standing who has worked for more than 2 yrs in the co for my dept.

Langlao, those idiots sitting in the Sr Mgt wans us to do lunch duty in case.. They need info.. I was like, "WAT!"

Anyway this lunch duty is a co joke. Not all depts in my co practise that. Me just bidding for time. Will leave this dumb co once i got my bonus or waiting for payout. I hope Temasek Holdings will be able to buy it!

K@ye,
thot the last round it was NOL now becomes TH ah.. hvnt been following news, except the recent Lehman minibond, cos prob got burnt, shucks!

Skye,
yar lor, gotta watch very careful, but sometimes be it falling sick or small incidents like falls or knocks, quite inevitable. Does Eliza has phlegm? Cos ZY had a real nasty flu bug and it took her almost finishing the whole bottle of medicine before she recovers.. better stay out of crowded areas for the time being.

k@ye, yesterday nite i quickly go and buy the avent pacifier .... hope miz "tua-chui" won't be able to put the entire thing into her mouth with this one! *lol*

langlao -- kaira initially also rejected the new pacifier this morning when i gave it to her to try. after spitting out a few times, she threw it away and started protesting. but cos i no choice lah, don't want to let her use the old and smaller sized one, i juz "ren" her "crying"... and keep giving her the new pacifier. (i was in the car, and i really only had that one pacifier!) after like 15 minutes (or mebbe longer), she started to suck it and after that, she was ok with it ... *phew*
