zhenzhen.. now tat u mentioned get it fm supermarket/alcohol shop then i realised is the GIN!! tis shows i v 'sua-ku' & not a drinker!! all along i read as gin but tink as 'gee', u knw like the one used for bao 'gee zhang' tat's y i asked u can buy in chinese medical shop or not!!! hahaha.... oh... really 佩服 u!! u r soooo good in handycraft & v smart to tink of recycle old clothings!! v 环保 & 很有记念价值indeed!! the shirt is so well done!! i'm like ecookie, knw nuts abt sewing... so 忏愧... btw, hannah looks much taller le...she's definitely v advance in her speech & skill!! may b can b lawayer nxt time =) looks like we hv to get vtech soon! keke.. every morning lance wait up 1st ting is 'daaaddddddy'... if we nvr ans him, he will whine like ppl bully him till so chiam... we always tell him 'u r a boy.. not a gal leh'... then he will go 'i wan drink nei nei'... all the 'to' in his sentence disappear one! he like to count nos., but all not in order...... one...tree...five..seeeven...eight...nine...ten!!

we didnt hv a chance to try all goodies in taiwan la.. cos at the nite market..the serving quite 'big' cant eat all tings at one time... but my hb daring enuff to try funny tings like '七理香' = bbq chicken backside, to me is yucks! we also tried 大肠包小肠 = glutinous rice w some fillings..阿宗面线 & 阿给 (dang hoon wrapped in dao pok like in a ball + special sauce) - v nice.. but we dare not try '臭豆腐'.. v stinky! we eat the '超大鸡排' & '盐酥鸡'until 'gio tolong'!! hahaha..

hapififi.... so we hv a future doc among our todds here!! kekeke.. aidan looks so serious & mature in the 1st pix & i like the 2nd one..... he salivated...hahaha!! agreed w hippo.. dayan & aidan looks quite alike.. thks 4 sharing D'Kranji Resorts.. another new place 4us to explore =) re pix.. ok ok, will try to get my hb to sort out our taiwan trip, got chance will post..

eunice.. when is ur maid going home? then u gonna take leave or send the boys to ur MIL?

Zhen Zhen : can't... MIL stays at Bedok whereas I'm @ Punggol. As for maid, I still dun koe... she said 10 days...

14 days shld be the basic. But if I'm gg to let her go, 1 week sch holiday? hahaha... so headache :p
 
actually import from oversea for Vtech / leapfrog may not be ex. maybe cheaper than buying in s'pore.

I tried many items b4. not these laptop though

and laptop quite heavy/bulky. item price might be cheaper, but i think shipping might be ex.

zhen zhen, ya! i got mine from toysrus too. and it was the last piece when i went. lucky it was in the display cabinet so the condition ain't too bad.. else i wld have bought the one u got even though it looks cheem cos the toys @ toysrus are always abused by pple! =P

mid nov - early dec---> airfare abt S$50 ex. too rush also as nxt mth is Nov liao.

early dec - mid late dec ---> will be too rush for me as renewal. friends all advised me not to renew 1st just in case she "fly" n nv back :p

CNY period ---> 20th Feb airfare cheaper. But I hv to take kids to sch. but more time for me to plan.

March holiday : airefare more ex. but she can go go back 1 week :p

All these hv nt incl home leave $$ too

oh ya! leapfrog confirm much cheaper esp if many of us order.. i ordered thru spree b4 and itz soooooo cheap! but dat was way way way b4. now dun even have time to look thru spree leh.. keke.. and the things in the sprees are either for adults or for babies. not so much for toddlers hor?

Your maid from Phil or indo? My Indo maid also going back for home leave for 20days.. How come have to pay so much for the endorsement of home leave? Not familiar about Phil maid... but for Indo maid... my agent charge $68 to do the endorsement. Since I am not working, I do it myself, save me $68. What airline you booking? Can always book budget airline, its alot cheaper.

I decide to book Cebu air... cheapest for Philippines liao ... I heard... or anyone knows any cheaper? :p
 
hippo, that's why i always dig to get the ones at the back. the ones in front, the box always cannot make it already. and leapfrog very much cheaper thru spree? i keep thinking the items are all so big and bulky, sure shipping charges very ex.

eunice, if that's the case, maybe really should organise our own spree! haha...

To renew a maid.. you will need to pay
1) WP renewal fee to agent (S$60), unless you DIY;
2) Insurance (cost $200+)

For me, I will only renew her WP after she returns from her home leave. As mentioned, there is a risk of them changing their minds and not coming back.

Yes.. I think Cebu air is one of the cheapest... Heard my friend also book Cebu for her Phil maid.. cost $100plus for return tkt right?

tiffany, i love seeing sisters in similar pieces. so since had extra material, i just made lor. but without the buttons, and a more stretchable strap so that it'll be more comfy. won't it be funny if #2 ends up as a boy tho.

Yes.. I am aware tha wef 1st Jan 2010, the medical insurance coverage will be raised from $5K to $15K.. my agent told me tat my insurance will cost me $288.90 when I renew the WP in Mar next year...

As for WP renewal.. I am not sure how much is MOM charging, agent charge me $60 flat. Renewal cost, transport etc.. I think I will rather pay this $60, cos, I foresee it will be a hassle to run up and down to MOM and the waiting time..

As for the endorsement fee... agent wanted to charge me $68 for the runner... well, since I dont work, I do it myself.. it is quite a hassle actually... have to go down embassy twice.... if no car, its not worth DIY lor....

Think the procedure for Phil cost more....

For me I only know how to shorten the length for pants/ jeans length using sewing machine. rest ... i dun koe... and those stitches by hand, me worse although home econ b4 :p
 
Re vtech laptop:

I got mine from Suntec Toys R Us. That time still have many sets left, both the orange and the pink ones (at the glass panel near the entrance). Normally Suntec will keep more stock as compared to other outlets such as United Square.

I wanted to get another toy fr United Sq but no stock, so they called to ask Suntec reserve for me.
 
tiffy, cream colour can la! will be very sweet.. unless u can match add details to ur white hairclip like some colours in the form of a button etc, otherwise can be pantang.. =)

eunice, her leapfrog is a white elephant at my place. keep forgetting to bring it back to her! hahaha

just went to school and made payment for zq's school. im getting very excited now. suddenly feel that zq is a big boy and ready for school! hee
his uniform very special, it's dark blue colour 唐装， and the girls' uniform is 旗袍. had an interview with the principal and she encouraged me to toilet-trained zq soon. i wish to do so also coz diaper here very exp ah! let's just take 1 step at a time.. will not push him too hard..

hubby said the same thing to me too, he asked me to prepare myself for the separation anxiety.. hee.. actualy im glad that zq goes to sch, he get to make more frens and learn more things in sch and i get to spend more time wi YA, wana bring him to baby playgroup for long!
 
tiffy, cream is nice. or since got silver trim, can also do in silver. think both will work well. and these colours are very versatile, so can wear after that too! and you should learn from your dad leh!! i'm in awe of tailors. they just put a few pins in and know what to do liao. i still need to keep measuring and measuring.

huh, have silver ribbon in market meh? tot only have grey. hmm, tot of going down to spotlight buy grey n cream grosgrain ribbon. the cream colour ribbon i have now is satin type.
u r right leh, tailor just put some pins in n they start working on it.tell u hor, actually my dad skill really gd cos he sew for 1 person in s'pore who is v high up in his rank but this happen under my dad previous boss.

Hi mummies,

been a hectic week.

Brig had his measles jab 2 weeks ago(at last...), so down with fever etc etc. Before the jab, he had eye infection. Aft the jab, he had uclers in his mouths. TOgether with his faver, doc said maybe is HFMD (which is not...... ). After the uclers, he is down with running nose, cough etc etc..... so many things added up, we decided to starts him on the antibiotic.... and he is allergy to the antibiotic... sign

Now he is recovering, adapting to school well.

tiffy, got metallic silver, but think not for grosgrain. it's those rougher type ribbons. why don't you use satin? it has quite a nice look too! unless you want to make boutique bow, then satin cannot really hold its shape. but if you make the flater bows like pinwheel, it will look just as nice.
