(2007/04) April 2007 MTB

d,
i'm still preg and around! 38 weeks+ today. so prob giving birth in 11 days time? so busy in the past week cos of kaizer's HFMD. after kaizer, husband contracted HFMD too, so another round of quarantine.

Oh My! I didn't know Kaizer has/d HFMD and your HB as well...Oi! Hope you're coping okay...so you're home-bound as well or do you get to go to work?

11 more days...quite exciting, eh?

SW, oh no... Didn't know ur hubby contracted with HFMD.
My gal almost got it too few days after jay as she had fever & flu. Doctor said there is a high chance she may get it. We so worry & quickly separated them & lucky my gal didn't get it. Does Kaizer hand still hv the spots? Jay hand still have a lot of small white spots...

Hope yr hubby is doing fine & may u hv a smooth delivery!
Remember to update us after u give birth!

d,
thankfully i didn't get HFMD myself. am already back to work, but as a family, we've kept ourselves "home bound" as far as possible. i think from next week onwards we should be back to normal routine and activities.

dlim,
kaizer doesn't have small white spots. but his are more like eczema scars. cos he had an eczema outbreak during the HFMD phase. luckily jayden's mei mei didn't get it =)

d and dlim,
am actually at home tonight to pack my hospital bag while kaizer is off to my mum's place. kaizer actually arrived 2 days before my EDD, so baby #2 should be coming 2-3 days before EDD too, i guess.

s/w...

good thing you didn't kenna.

Oooh...so exciting...9 more days to go! Yeah, when you're up to it, give us the gory details. It's always makes and interesting read... heh.

hi all!
i'm still around. went for my 39th week visit today, and the gyn whom i saw decided that my eczema was so bad that she recommended inducing at 40th week if the baby hasn't arrived then. she said i shouldn't have to suffer prolonged itch esp since it's full term and bb is estimated to be > 3kg already. let's see if i will go into labour spontaneously this long weekend, then don't need to induce on tues/wed. caicai is due to give birth next, followed by leo and rina right? haven't "seen" caicai on the forum for a long time. hope she's coping well with the pregnancy.

d,
i hope i'll be sharing a short and sweet labour story than a gory one, ha! today's gyn was just telling me that 85% of second births will be breezier than the first. and she predicts that my second birth would be over in 6-7 hours time. sounds like a damn long time to me still!

SW,
All the best for a smooth and fast delivery
happy.gif
My 2nd labour was longer than d 1st. reason: i wanted to try wo epidural but ended up was too tired n tense that cervix cld not dilate fully. finally took epi, slept a while, woke up, fully dilated.
is ur mum helping u w d confinement?

s/w,

All the best!

Hate to say it but every birth is as bloody as the next. haha. :p

So far I've heard of longer labour 2nd time round but then I think it really depends on how fast the 1st one went... it's all relative, no?

d and sanrio,
aiyoh, my first labour was 17+ hours, can't imagine anything more than that!

bunnie,
PMed you my HP number already

michele,
other than some non-painful stomach tightening over the past two days, i don't have other labour signs. think i missed the deadline for a 20/09/2009 baby already ...

mummies who have linked their blogs to mine,
i've decided to stop posting on my old blog for a couple of reasons. just migrated the old content over to my new blog at www.janeeeee.wordpress.com! so please change your link to the new address =)

hey sandwich
good luck! hope u've a smooth delivery!

anyway mommies, my colleague juz told me this 2 stories. it happened to her fren's frens at HK disneyland. her fren's fren has a pair of twins. went to HK disney n while changing twin A, twin B who was by her side juz disappeared! so she went round frantically trying to find twin B. then this woman came up to her and offered to help look after twin A so that she can continue to look for twin B. guess what, she couldn't find twinB n when she came back to look for the woman, she has vanished with twin A! so she lost both twins!

My colleague also said her fren's fren's 11 year old gir went missing in hk disney and after a few months, they still couldn't find her despite filing police report etc.

sounds really scary and heartbreaking. not sure if the stories are really true but pls be careful nevertheless.

blueroti,

thanks for the heads up...will keep my eyes on J when I'm there.

Ya, I guess for my friends who had longer 2nd delivery, they had short 1st deliveries. probably just the opposite...so Yay for you!
happy.gif
(cos 17 hrs is a long time...)

Sandwich
Did your wish came true and delivered on 20 09 2009?

Hear your good news really soon!

Bunnie
Hmm... I am in Singapore over the weekend BUT I just saw your message... you asking my number rite? PM you after this...

bunnie,
aiyah, scrolled up and realized you asked for SD's number and not mine. haahaa, i PMed you anyway.

rina and springdance and cool_d,
i am still around! went for scheduled gyn visit at 9am today and was found to be 2cm dilated. checking into NUH delivery suite at 8.30am-9.00am tomorrow morning for the scheduled induction. gyn is optimistic that i'm "inducible". i better be, don't want to end up doing an emergency c-section if induction fails.

sanrio,
realized i forgot to answer your question. not planning to do any confinement. kaizer will still go to school as per normal, but for the first week after i've delivered, he will be staying over at my mum's place at night. so husband will fetch him to and from his por por's home daily to go to school. as for me, i'll be staying alone at home with bb after i'm discharged from hospital. husband will most prob be taking the first week off, but i've already prepared a lot of groceries so that i won't starve when breastfeeding. planning to eat convenient food like oats, cornflake w milk, sandwiches, etc. - exactly what i did when i gave birth to kaizer then.

All the best sandwich!! Wishing you a smooth and fast delivery! Guess ur baby will share the same birthday as my hb!

hi mummies,
i finally delivered on 24 sep 09, one day past my EDD! spent over 30 hours in the hospital after having admitted myself for induction on 23 sep 09 morning. took very long to dilate from 2cm to 4cm. actual labour process after water bag was burst lasted 6 hour plus.

delivery mtd: natural with epi
name of baby: wong titus
weight: 3.695kg
height: 53cm

just finished breastfeeding him. he pooed trice during this feed, so entire feed took an hour plus! going to zzzz with him. will post a detailed birth story soon.

d,
that's an enormous baby. yah, mine isn't so big. during detailed scans baby #2 was actually placed in the 25-30th percentile. but i think he still turned out pretty big in the end.

s/w,

WOW! I think your baby is BIG!

Take your time with the story, it's just good to know that you're okay.
happy.gif

"Titus"...that's easy enough to remember and heh, my HB got the gender right :p He told me moons ago, "if she don't want to say, that's means she's expecting a boy".
happy.gif

Take care!

s/w
Titus is big indeed.. and i think Kaizer is not that big at birth right?

D
i'm curious as why your hubby say if don't want to say then S/w is expecting a boy?
happy.gif

Min,

I honestly don't know how my HB's brain works...but now that I've just told him the 2nd boy's name, he immediately said, "if s/w has a 3rd boy, you know what name they'll pick, right?"

btw s/w,
I'm reading "Beyond the Blossoming Fields" I think you'll like the book
happy.gif

mummies,
thanks for all the well wishes! i'm glad that i've finally delivered ... keeping my fingers crossed that the week ahead will be a good one cos it's the first week that me and husband will be taking care of kaizer and titus on our own. my mother is already on standby just in case we can't cope. but bringing kaizer to her house on a weekday evening will be our last resort lah.

d,
i've posted the birth story up on my blog. it's not a very bloody story though =) hey, tell your husband that if it's a girl, i'll most likely be keeping mum too. cos in the case of the first pregnancy, i didn't tell all my friends and colleagues abt the gender. for this second pregnancy, i decided not to even tell my parents and in laws. so what's the name of the third boy kid? my husband will kill me now if i suggest to him that we try for another kid, hahaa.

min,
kaizer was 3.54kg at birth, so quite close but not as big.

d and michele,
since i'm on ML, can meet up for a meal with the two of you soon. i have to pick up some avent things from you, michele. i also have to return jesse his sandplay toys that were parked at my place since the sentosa stay. and the blossoming fields book sounds interesting from the amazon synopsis. is it yours or is it from the library? i just finished haruki murakami's "birthday stories" while i was in the hospital. bizarre book. it's from the library so i can't trade it with you.

cindy,
when's your husband's b-day? is it 24 sep also? saw from your blog that you've just visited sydney. you and cait are very well travelled!

hey , s/w , so late n u still up ?
titus doesnt resembles kaizer ... different look ! :p

recover well n enjoy ur new bundle of joy

s/w,
congrats! Titus is of a good weight! Hope he can suckle well and takes big feeds (so it'll less frequent nursing for you)
and hope that Kaizer will not receive didi well..
My #1 went on hunger strike/wetted the bed at nights/insisted to sleep on my bed during my confinement month...thinking back still gives me chills..

mummies
just to share that i think Home's Favourite- durian snow skin mooncake is very yummy! bought for my entire clan yday.. and everyone gave thumbs up. think its much betta then goodwood park one
happy.gif

s/w,

sure let me know when you want to meet up
happy.gif

I borrowed the book from my sil, so can't lend you also...just finished the book last night, found the ending rather anti-climatic, as with most deaths.

Trying to do some other "work" now so trying not to read too much. haha.

Well, after "Kaizer" and "Titus", what do you think would be the next obvious choice? *grin*

Sandwich
Very happy for you and CONGRATS for your successful delivery.. Titus is certainly a BIG boy at birth.
happy.gif

Min
Conincidentally, I also just bought Home's Favourite over the weekend..actually wanted to get Goodwood Park assorted skin but the Durian one sold out. :p

Oh ya, dun you think the HF mooncake box looks very much like a cake box? I got the round flowery box...did you?

S/W,
My hb's bday is on the 23rd. I thought Titus would pop on that day! ehhehehe!
Yaps, I went sydney with my dad. Hb didn't go.

Btw...dun you wanna meet me too??? :p

s/w

happy.gif

SD

happy.gif
