Joelle: ya lor... its used more to define her play space.. now her play space damn messy and i also recently added a Bu4 Dao3 Weng1..lagi no space for her in there lio, so many toys all over the play area..maybe i should consider buying another set of play yards to expand her play area??? I think my next task is to teach her to keep her toys, i think i will go daiso and look for a safe rounded edge box to teach her to keep her toys in the box.

i made macaroni cheese for my boi last sun. he doesnt like it. mayb too much cheese cos i put 1pc of babybel in half a bowl of macaroni. but when i give plain macaroni, his mouth open big big to eat. mayb my boi not ang mo kia like seth. hehe!
 
pax: ya lah, missed chatting with u in here mah cos u MIA recently..hehe. i saw ur sms, i think i will add veggie puree to my yogurt. And my yogurt set and hardened a bit more after i place in the fridge, now texture just nice. I like the taste leh, so milky and creamy, i think i will buy fresh chilled milk to try , wanna compare a bit see got any difference from my long shelf milk which i used this time round. I dunno isit due of the milk i used cos my yogurt was not at all sour (just very mildly sour after 17hrs)

ya lor... i told him, u give mi the money, i save it and reno our flat nicer... don have to go make my breast big... lol... small also nvm... no one will see la... if not i will tuck more push up pads! den he said, i have set aside for the flat... don have to worry... now is time to worry my figure... faint!

i use pumpkin puree with some yogurt and minced meat as a sauce for the pasta. also added broccoli.. Jo loves it...

pax: haha.. she has lots of small toys.. just wan a small box to teach her the concept of putting in andtaking out.. hehe.. i am using a big ikea box to store her toys now.

Carol: i think u added too much cheese liao.. taste too strong, bb not use to it. 1 pc of baby bel is a lot leh.. u reduce to just 1 tsp of grated cheese and let him try again lah.

ya, i'm wondering if there's a diff using UHT or fresh milk... vv tempted to buy those small tetra paks of UHT fresh milk to try...
 
babybel is a brand of cheese. i bot the red one. cant find the diff for the orange one. both m & hb look at ingredients but same same.

pax: ur pasta source very special. can dun add yogurt? dun hv home made yogurt
 
pax: def can use UHT cos mine UHT mah, very tasty leh.. we experiement a bit and post our results in the blog. I was thinking abt chocolate and strawberry milk, think when Rae bigger, i will use the chocolate milk, see if i can get choco yogurt..hehe..or maybe i should add unsweeten cocoa powder myself to get chocolate yogurt
must rope QQ the scientist in to experiment with us.
 
star: in order not to waste my macaroni cheese, i mix some inside plain porridge for his dinner & he ate it.

u can try cottage cheese... actually i'm giving both M and Jo small cubes of cheese.. brand laughing cow.. the other brand is Kiri. it's bigger pieces.. wasted if cannot finish. NTUC is selling laughing cow plain cheese cubes at $3.60...

yes, can skip the yogurt.. no homemade can also use commercial buy-fr-store yogurt..

i think u got use plain milk, then can, right? next time u use add cocoa to yogurt or strawberry to yogurt, blend it, u get yogurt drink.. healthy! add apple puree (or honey when our kids r older), natural sweetener.

I stop and ask myself this question: Will I still set up the bumper mat and gates area given another chance, say for the second baby?

My answer is a resounding YES! Why? Becos' with the set-up, it gives the parents/caregiver the peace of mind to allow the baby the freedom to explore and develop his/her mobility. Think this is one reason Anna may be a little advance in her motor skills. I think to balance this, the baby needs to have activities outside of this protected enviornment daily as well. And afterall, once the baby is able to walk steadily, falling down "unnecessaily" should not be happening.. Just my take..

pple.. pls congratulate me.. i have a genius for my son.. at a tender age of 10 mth 3 weeks 3 days. he has managed to pull wool over his graduate mother.. nope.. there's is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the... ok.. i can't use the term 'stupid' on him anymore.. oh my.. my son. is SO intelligent.. in a week. i hear 2 PD telling me the SAME thing.. 'ur son is manipulating u.. he is too clever.. and LAZY'.. no wonder there's a perpetual grin on his face all day long.. SO he is laughing at me! laughing at his STUPID mother.. and TOO kindhearted grandma.. who cater to his every whims and fancy...

the moving of bottom crawling..is known as shuffling. me also did that when young.. then walking liao. miser crawled a little then walked.. so the order of dilligence in my family nnow.. is Miser, Me then Teng!!! catch my pun?

(farmer Union/Paul's yogurt).. and saw this UHT and fresh. milk. back of my mind.. i was like telling myself. shd ask pax and discuss which one is a better choice.. then forget liao.. so no diff? u used fresh milk.. star used UHT..

so angry now.. so malu.. arghh. can't stomach it.. got fooled by my 'stupid' boy.. too angry to eat dinner.. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!1
 
but his blocked nose is indeed worsening.. the mucus flowing backwards.. hence the slight cough.. so many types of med to feed.. wah biang.. can choose the less traumatic way.. feed by spn.. but considering the 'humilation' my boy has subjected me to.. i think i have to balance my damaged ego a little and feed him using a syringe. which will irritate him to no end.. and making him scream out loud.. only by doing that.. can i take my 'revenge' for my wounded pride..

hmm. all of a sudden. jus the thought of this.. has allowed me to feel 'sadistily' happier...

star: start with cottage cheese.. or alternatively can try fromage frais for bbs.. carrefour has a house brand for it. not too bad.. or can try Danoe fromage frais for kids.. fromage frais is white cheese. mixed with fruits..

i dun find babybel salty. i find it too sharp for my own palette.. like wh ati told bbgirl the other day.. think fromage frais will do for the 'stupid' boy..

ok. i was happy to know that there is nothing wrong with him.. DR Ong scared me a little.. with her qnns initlaly.. 'is he good in expressing himself?.. motor slightly slow huh? which month u had the chickenpox?"

but after she observed teng.. she told me. there is no prob with him at all..she can see how the boy is manipulating us very clearly.. and the fact that he is standing/walking very well with support means that there is no delay in his gross motor..and not with fine motor certainly. expressing is not an issue..coz he was making variety of 'fuss' and sounds in the clinic..and he has learned to shake head no.. inmitate pple etc..

so now the prob is with me and my mum..we have caused him to be too dependent on us.. plus his laid back personality.. double trouble.. *sigh*

so on the way home.. i got angrier and angrier.. at myself. how could i? an educator who advocates tough love.. has a son who is 'spoilt'?? by me?? of all people??? what an irony..

so.. how can i be happy?? ok.. happy that he is alright. but angry at myself....

i am so amusingly contradicting hor?

i dun wanna jinx myself. everytime i say YE is a good gal, she will be notti again. but i must admit that she's a smart gal. smarter than me at least. she figured out that she won't get her way with me. so she's zzz now. haha... wish me luck

that's the dilemma we always will have to face as parents. tough love vs spoiling them. it's a difficult choice sometimes. and even after knowingly making the choice, we still dunno if we're doing the right thing.

i mean, look at how each of us mummies declare that we won't want a spoilt brat. yet how often do we do things to spoil them and set a trap for ourselves?! who's to blame?

i'm obviously in the very tough love mood. haha

yeap.. me too.. not just 'very tough love mood'.. but 'extremely tough love mood'... i will have to go sit on a rock at east coast part.. reflect.. (like what i described to pink the other day.. pink.. we can go together lei!! yayyy.. arghh.. lame!)..and come up with strategies.. to get his butt off the floor.. and i dun think this can be solved by just 3 days of CIO-ing..ahhh..agony for my ears.. whey. u have any more ear plugs to spare???

CIO is a v tough process. you have to strategise when and how to do it. and be prepared that there might be a tough fight between you and the bb.

but when i remind myself that it's all for her, i dun even need the ear plugs. after the first few days, the CIO gets shorter, or i become more hard hearted. so i can actually zzz and wake up the next morning "aey?! i fell asleep ah?!"
