huingee : i am the last person to eat.. but i was very very pissed becos not even last grain left..the stupid maid tell me no more rice at 10.30 pM!! Sheng siong close already.. den ? have to drive to tampines giant is the next nearest thinng.. i was like.. ok .. den dun eat rice tomorrow.. hahaha!

They are like this. Can tell you dun have soya sauce or oil or rice when going to start to cook.
Tell her next time have to tell you early.
 
HN : told her liaoz.. somemore sat / sun i go grocery shopping ask her somemore.. got wat thing dun have already or going to finish must tell me.. sigh.. sometimes i think .. just manage the home myself easier.. although tired.. but at least no high blood.. hahaha!

most of us working, except mil . mil also not sure if she is coming. but i think she is, my feeling. cause she cannot wait to come here like that. too bored in KL. we already ask her to come anytime cause too bored, but she is worried that only 1 sil there. so nevermind la.

nana, haha! go downstairs dabao rice if really dun have at home. 1-2 days ok one.
do u know that there are 24 hours NTUC fariprice around? cause autum RR they all told me before. i was so impressed! haha! try find one nearby your house.
 
Opps, just spoke with the teacher and I realise that whatever the complaints the teacher has about YT, well, those are things that I can't really do anything about... The teacher is too nice to her that's why. She is not firm enough. And YT is antisocial and prefer playing with more mature kids and boys (because according to the teacher, all the girls ran away when she shouts.) I feel that alot of things is because it is in her temperament. How to manage that??? I really suspect the toilet thing is because I went back to work. She's totally normal today when I'm with her lei...

dun have too high expectations, then your blood will not boil.
once in a while rina also forget, in fact i myself also forget. so either u ask her to write down or just find alternatives. tabao? put maggi mee at home? or mee sua (can keep very long). there's always a solution, so not worth getting angry over this.

wow YT so fierce to the gals? hmm. maybe she is used to playing with her cousins at home so dun like gals?
 
1) YT gets upset over little things e.g.

- She likes to press out the soap and slather it all over her arms. The tap in school is those press button type and when teacher offers to help her wash off the excess soap, she insists on doing it herself and get upset if teacher helps.
(strategy: I told the teacher to pre-empt her. Give her something she can do herself and do the other thing for her right from start. e.g. Tell her before the handwashing that she will press the soap out while teacher will press the water)
- FIL came to fetch her instead of me and she rolls on the floor and bawls. (I din tell the teacher this, but FIL had started bringing sweets to school in the event that she acts up.)
- She refused to de-constructs whatever she has built and wanted to put them on the shelves but can't reach the shelves, yet insist on doing it herself.
- She likes to take off her shoes in class. (that is after, one day, she wets her shoes during water play and teacher allows her to walk around shoeless.) (strategy: Teacher ask me to pack extra pair of shoes on days of water play, I think she can just bring her crocs everyday, that is quite light.)

2)YT have some problems with certain social behaviour

- She is constructing something, other children want come to join her play. She gets upset and shoos them away because she complained that they will mess up her stuffs.

- When she is upset and other children want to sayang her, she din understand and shoos them away saying, "不要，不要"


I know she can be loud and rude sometimes. So I'm going to buy some children books on manners and then read and talk to her about it. She does understand the expected behaviour and can listen to reasoning but hor, she's the type, the moment she gets excited, upset, everything flys out the window and she will act up again. Anyway, according to teacher, whatever tantrum she throws, it will be short. But of course, from before she's already like that. Even if she bawls from falling down, it can be stopped very fast. Anyway, the teacher suspected that she had bad temper because she doesn't have enough sleep sometimes and also when she is suffering from the frustrations of attempting something that she can't really do yet. The 'doesn't have enough sleep' could be true because sometimes she just couldn't sleep early especially when she naps too long in the day. I think really have to make sure she doesn't nap more than 2 hours. In any case, I also warned the teacher that YT is a SUPERB actress. She can carry out the "I'm tired" and "I'm urgent" acts very well.

Teacher is going to lend me a book to read on Monday. I dunno, somehow I feel that she is the one who needs to revise it. :p

You know, the playing thing hor, sometimes I suspect is because my nephew is very rough playing with her too. He will snatch things from her, push her etc. so from there, she learn that kind of defensive behaviour. But what to do, already become like that, how to unlearn?
 
HN: Hee.. He already likes to go to school, just that he's a little afraid to be left alone. The P told me I need to keep telling him "mummy will come and bring you home later" and when I pick him up, to say "see, mummy is here to bring you home already" etc etc.. Need to give him this type of assurance.

Pink: Leia is very cute leh. But she is bullying you hor?

Pink, QQ: Anna used to describe her poo as "banana poo" - the long ones; and "chocolate poo" for the constipated small and lumpy ones.. Hahah..

Mist: Did your maid go to the other employer's place already? IF so, her name shd have been transferred out from being employed by you right?

Giolyn: Aiyooh.. The situation is quite worrying. The way she confronted you - is she buay-song that you complained to her agency "behind her back"? Hope she is not the vengeful type.

Mejo: Maybe YT just needs more time to interact and socialise with other kids, and to see how they interact with each other.

I'm an anti-social kid. Haha. Even now, I don't do that well in social situations. I only had my first boyfriend at 20+ because I couldn't talk to boys. Kept fighting with them at primary school, couldn't talk to them at all at secondary school and finally manage to speak a bit with them at JC but is still quite awkward about it. So yar, I don't think it is a mere matter of observing and then learning. She will improve I believe, like I did but she won't be like the others I guess. She inherited anti-socialness from me and impatience from hb. Not a good combi.

Leia gets very frustrated and start yelling at the 'things' she cannot complete.
If she hit something such as the door, the floor or scooter, she starts scolding them "STOP DISTURBING ME." She behaves this way at home, not in the CC, so thats the difference. Im gonna ask teacher how she behaves towards her classmates, so far I only know she likes to dream.

Yar, we can only keep talking and reasoning with YT lor. Hopefully after endless repetitions, it will sink in...eventually. I also think the teacher can be more firm. She realised it also I think cuz YT act up more with her than towards the chinese teacher who is more fierce. I mean, YT can come home and tell me that she likes teacher S because she won't get angry with her. :X

my phillips never even use for long break down liao.. now i steam my rice le.. wonder if use alot of gas? i like le.. 15 min gao dim. i intend to buy rice cooker le.. any models to recommend.. atas but must be FAST?

nana i also got RICE prob last nite. after hubby go down supermkt, maid then tell me NO MORE RICE.. left abit can feed one person only la. somemore my sis n nephew coming tonite.. told her b4 not to tell me last min but still.. anyway forgive her la.. i indicated v clearly dun wait till little bit then tell. ended up i instructed her to go chase hubby to buy rice..cos pete went down SS w/o his hp.

we also gave maid hse rules last nite.. her attitude ok la.. i made pete talk to her.. then i drill her again ask her if she ustands.. still tonite make mistake la. haiz.. still can forgive told her to speed up her work if #2 comes along she will even hv less time.

wah u all cook so many dishes.. for me i normallly ask maid to cook 2 dishes only..hardly hv soup. if 3 dish its those lazy type of dish like fish tofu.. we all love it. if not can steam chicken wings (mid joint) with chinese wine n wolveberries.. steam chopped meat (like wat my mum used to do) stir fry oyster sauce with egg tofu n sweet peas that kind of simple things. one thing i like abt steaming is kitchen NOT dirty!!!

i suggest u dun buy those atas rice cooker le. u can buy this panasonic obiang one, 10 min. i am impressed. get details from magsmum and giolyn. haha! yvonne, RR, etc etc etc.
after i try the quick cooking function of my cooker, i let u know if it is really 20 min. 20 min i still can tahan.

cd i roughly know ur mthly water/ elect bill n if u on aircon to zzz? so far my lowest is 80+ -$110+ with occassional aircon.

i dread seeing the bill this mth haha.. sure increase la got extra person staying mah.. more hsework = more water/ elect too.. of cos hse is def cleaner etc.

can also spray bio-x in the car, i've tried. spray everywhere. under car seat, in the boot, on the car mat n leave overnite... nt sure any cockroaches died, but hv nt seen any since

guess what, i just went to buy a atas rice cooker yesterday. wahhaah.. those multi-function philips type. supposed to be able to cook soup, congee n cake.. wahhaha.. we asked the saleslady, she says cook rice about 30-40mins, but that is based on full-capacity (10 cups).. anyway, haven't use yet, so will see if it takes very long. :p

for maids, like what Ash says, we cannot assume they know things because they really dunno. So no point getting angry or unhappy. your maids ok le. My maid, when she first came, she can forget to cook rice (when all other dishes ready we have no rice to eat), she can forget to cook for EJ (EJ no food to eat)..

Belle,
make a list of the foods u buy for grocery each week and paste outside the fridge door. U can look at this list to know what u have in the fridge, so no need to keep opening the fridge and stare inside to see what to cook (waste electricity).. then, when u use that item, tell your maid to strike off that item. This list helps u to know what u have at a glance..

i suspect we need to put LESS water, so that water can evaporate faster and cooked. but scare the rice is not cooked then jialat. haha!

my current rice cooker is kind of starting to spoil like that. got a layer of chao-ta or dry dry at the base. still can use la, but sometimes the rice cooked unevenly. rice still can eat.. but i wanted to buy this atas de for long time le. just that too exp, she-bu-de. yesterday BEST denki got sale for OCBC card, so we whack.. after waiting for long time for price to come down. haha..

You know hor, I think YT is very similar in temperament and characteristics to me so a lot of times, I understand where she is coming from much better than others. But today she kenna whacked by me, haha, cuz she go and use my eyebrow pen and gorged several of my eyeshadows in a new compact.

QQ : actually hor.. u all know pandan leaves actually dun get rid of cockroaches.. they actually attracts them.. i am most afraid of cockroaches and cannot stand cockroaches in the car.. esp if i am driving.. i cannot have the tot of any cockroaches in the car..

wat my hubby did was the bought those kill cockroach one.. erm.. those round one..leave it there.. the cockroach eat liao den die one those kind.. i cannot remember the name.. very very effective.. he put for the 1st 1-2weeks.. can see alot of dead cockroaches ard the "thing" after that.. now.. cockroach free!!! hehehehee..

he put like 2 under each car seat.. and 2 in the boot.. boot nothing la.. its more of under the car seat.. can see the cocoroaches die there..
