Kiddo: urs is the manual pump? from avent i mean.? my take

1) Dun need to consider buying another single pump.
2) If u cna spare the budget getthe PIS, if cannot, can consider the Ameda Lactaline double pump. price about $399.
3) U can stick to ur single pump first and see how it goes and also to wait for sale. and when u r going back to work, then u go buy. no waste if u decide not to cont Bfing.
4) Borrow is good, but my take is that if u wanna use the pump, best to get ur own. I am very concern about hygiene one lah.

BTW: any idea if u r expecting a boy or girl? and when is ur EDD?

kiddo, i have use pis before, if u wan fast, pis is a very good pump. 15min chop chop both side finish. Hand wont cramp. Now i using manual avent pump. Thou i no need to pump alot, but this 1-2min, i already hand cramp. But if u used to it, should be ok.

Astro, maybe u can borrow both brands to try? Can borrow pis from mummies here, avent from those rental shop? United square got a shop that rent pumps.

im back! I love spore! so blessed to be born here. this is my 3rd time to bali but i cant take the heat anymore, old liao less energy and tolerance, freckles more liao.

ok on the wedding day, leia fell asleep 1 hr before i had to bring her to dress up. i had to put her in pram and rush to bride's room. luckily she wasnt cranky and she managed to walk down the aisle with me, anyway there were stairs along the aisle in the garden, so i had to accompany her anyway. post pix later.

glad that QQ is fine!

re: feeding toddler
my hubby said his client will throw away the food if her kids do not want to eat. e.g. if she throws away lunch, the next time she will serve them will be dinner, she wont make up by giving snacks or watever. so lesson learnt after gone hungry, they will quickly eat their food for each meal.
i wonder whether its effective.

yvonne: yes i do nurse her to sleep. Its extremely bad habit man.. try not to do it if u can. but if no choice, also bo bian. I am reading up on how to wean her off.

kiddo, i was using the Medela mini-electric and Avent manual pump before getting the PISA. The reason why i get that PISA is bcos mini-electric not powerful to empty the breast and its damn slow for my let-down. Now chop chop 15mins and i can go rest.

star, ya QQ is a v "steady and calm" gal. I think total bedrest for her is a MUST now. Luckily Mr Lai no need to travel liao.

BB: ya the medela mini electric cannot make it.. u ashould have asked for opinion about the pump here then can help u to save money lah. I hope it was a gift instead of u paying out of ur own pocket for the Mini electric.

BB: QQ has low placenta, and i understand that the bb is kinda blocking the path for the blood to flow out.. thus the prolong bleeding. She has to get the blood to flow out completely and according to her, there are still lots of pockets of blood to needs to flow out of the body. Amazing, this is not affecting the other bb at all.

Yvonne: Ya, will lead to tooth decay if never take care.

star, i bought the mini-electric when i had ah bian...super regretted dat i did not get the PISA that time else could hv prolong BF ah bian. But this time i finally to spend that $ on PISA is bcos of Darius. He likes to latch on which helps alot in my ms.

mummies, todae i brought ah bian and darius to the Jan'09 gathering to meet the mummies and bbs. Am just glad that both boys slpt...gathering was at one of the mummies' house. But ah bian was damn boring cos he is the BIG BROTHER, all are bbs. It was fun and i felt satisfied to be able to bring both boys out alone. heeee!!

However, QQ is worried that the blood clots might push the surviving twin out. I thought that once it is firmly implanted, it wun. but apparent PT said no. there is still this risk.. but essentially beyond any one control.. so hence QQ is ordered bed rest and given jabs and hormones to relax her womb.. so that she dun suffer the contractions .. which might , alongside the clots, push the bb out..

QQ's 'problem' is not really a low placenta.. it is more about the location of the surviving twin. It is at the bottom of the womb.. while the miscarraiged twin is on top.. so imagine an avanlanche bearing its weight on someone below.. so now, hoping either the blood clots SLOWLY flow out or body absort the clots.. then the remaining bb wun be affected..That's what i managed to understand from QQ.

Every pregnancy is different. So many unpredictable things can happen. Just hope that mother and bb will be fine throughout the 40wks!!

Astro: my colleague 6 mths pregnant, sudden contraction, it was scary cos according to her, contraction was very strong and almost pushed bb out. Doc gave her ventolin to relax the womb and she say it caused her heart beat to go up. scary hor. imagine such a premature bb.
QQ told me her placenta is very low for this pregancy so need to wait for bb to move up and this is one of the reason why the blood is "stuck" and can;t flow out well? maybe the diagnosis changed as i gathered this info when we last spoke on sunday.

yvonne/QQ: remember i told u my ex confinement lady cannot make it? since we are on the topic of pumps.. let me cite u an ex..mine is electric pump right? she go and wash the 'head' of the pump! coz she didn't know it was electric, she thought it was one of those manual ones she used before! so there u go! before i even get to use it, spoil liao.. miser had to go to the avent head office to get it replaced.. he dunno give what excuse lah! haiz.. funny hor?! :S

Astro: u dun buy first.. wait for bb to come or u wait for sale.. robinsons or taka baby fair is the best time to buy. Dun waste ur money to buy any other pump liao. cos if its not effective and then u buy the PIS, u will end up spending more money. Ask miser to help u research where is the cheapest place to get the pump ( He is good at this right). A good pump is quite critical for the success of ur BFing journey lah. If u have a lousy pump, u end up not getting any milk out of ur breast and then u will think ur supply is low or that u dun have milk and then u will just give up. IF PIS too expensive, u can consider the ameda pump. The Ameda is alos very good.

Hope QQ and bb can be discharged soon. So once the blood cleared liao, she will be safe to go home right? My SIL have seen her gynae today, her EDD is going to be in November. So it seems like we'll be getting a maid this year. Dun think my MIL can handle a tot and a baby at the same time with her health. If we want the maid to come in August, when should we start looking?

Mejo: the bleeding will be quite long drawn.. so long term hospitalisation also quite funny.. coz she is not in 'critical' danger per se.. so she can go home once she dun feel any contractions.. but upon going home.. she will still ocntinue to bleed.. just hope not in gushes like that last time.. (which got her admited coz she had contractions as well)..

eventually the bleeding will clear.. so hope not it flow out gently.. not in gushes. and as bb grow bigger, hope it is big and strong enough to withstand such 'avalanche'..

Baby just stretching? There are cases whereby the baby broke the ribs of the mother by kicking! If you are worried that baby is not well, i.e. struggling, continue to monitor movements. Go with your instincts, dun hesitate to call up your gynae if you feel something is seriously wrong.

here's a cute pix i love. leia keeps wanting to go into the pool, she swims twice a day at the private villa. when my galfrens swam at night, she also joined in. everytime she swims, i have to bath her, wash her, over and over again, super shiong. in the hotel, she keeps asking us to bring her into the bathtub to play water..fainz.
