guess the weather is really bad nowadays. J's PG teachers always remind the kids to drink more water, almost every time, J's water bottle will either be half empty or almost 90% empty. So I very happy that the teachers making effort to get them to drink so much of water.

think for brufen and any medicine, there comes in diff strength. hence the diff in ml. even if the weight is the same.

the one i gave her is 2.5ml for 250. so at A&E, doc top up a bit more.

coz doc said assuming she doesnt have fever for 24hrs, then only can discharge. hopefully, we stay ard 36. she is now at 11.7kg. think on wed, we weigh her she is 12kg. lost 300g in 2 days coz she doenst want to drink milk and eat much.
doc said she was recovering from last week episode but must have catch a new one this week.
 
oh ya, next to keira got a 6mths old bb got UTI, fever went up to 41. then got shivering. so they cldnt sponge her. so poor thing.

Nevermind, K weight is good. Abit lost is not so bad. Maybe stay away from school from one week after she discharge.

Don't think too much lah. Maybe it's the hormones. Must try to stay happy and think of good this k.

hope rae, tian and keira will all get well soon. seems like there is some bug going around, coz mag just recovered from fever and cough on monday too.

must get the kids to drink more water and take Vit C
 
Kaexin: Anna also has the same symptoms as K! But I gave her the usual brufen/paracetamol and cough and flu medicine only.. No more fever, though she's still having a bit of runny nose.. Why did you decide to bring her to A&E? Sorry didn't read archives..

PD and GP also told me 6 hrs interval for brufen leh. Think there's only a type of brufen - orange colour. It belongs to the NSAID group.

Yesterday insomnia again, bb also din sleep will keep kicking me, my poor boy.

Thanks mummies for comfort, yesterday nite trace back why I have the “pass onz” tot. think I kana poison by the Shin cancer blog, I saw her interview last year sept (if I am not wrong) I really admire her brave of facing cancer and what she have done/prepare for her family, come to know she pass onz on 2nd days of CNY last week, maybe that why I feel down + too tired so have the tot.

Ok ok should not think, wipe, wipe, wipe.

last nite she was at my in-laws coz ws told me 2 of his collg got chix pox,so beta to let her stay over in yishun. the at 11.15pm, mil calle dto say fever suddendly went up to 40.2.
so i went over and they decided to bring her to KK.
this is our 2nd visit, luckily decided to bring her. coz 1st false alarm, so when i left at 9+, i din want to bring her to KK.
 
Pneumonia is different from the Pneumococcal disease. The vaccine they took is for Pneumococcal, not Pneumonia.

"- Pneumonia is an infection of one or both lungs which is usually caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi.

- Pneumococcal disease is caused by a common bacterium, the pneumococcus, which can attack different parts of the body."
 
Kaexin: Oh I see.. Must really take their temp rigourously when they have fever man.. Cos it can really go up and down quite fast.. Poor K.. Good that the fever is under control.. Hope she gets well and can come home soon.. You on leave?
 
so K's is pheumonia not Pheumococcal?
tot K is consider "lucky" recover over night if kana Pheumococcal, my hb colleague friend son kana admit to ICU for weeks and suffer for several organ disable. Tat why we quickly bring Elisha for the jab

pneumococcal can happen to any parts of the body but most often and most serious, it's the brain.
 
AA,
if pneumococcal disease, chances are she won't be able to be discharged so soon. And the doctor will probably tell her more cos it'll be quite serious.

RR: Yes, I got very worried for K.. Kaexin wrote it in a manner as if the doc is suspecting Pn, very scary... Meningitis is not a common illness to take lightly of..

re: Name stickers
There is a pushcart in AMK Hub 3 level outside the food court. I have also seen in Bishan Junction 8 before as well as Tiong Bahru Plaza.
 
By the way mums... when we say sponge the kid, what exactly is meant by this?

1) Take a wet towel and wipe the kid all over?

2) Bring the kid to shower?

3) Let the kid immerse in the bath tub?

sponge = take towel and wipe. towel dipped in normal temp water but can added a bit of ice if kid is very hot. cos the towel will become very hot, so dipping in ice-water will then 'normalise' the temp.
 
RR, Autum: I see.. I usually just bring her to the bathroom and give her a quick shower.. CLoe the windows, make sure she's wrapped up quickly and put on her clothes again.
 
AA, i just came back from PD. Sponging is using wet towel or shower under luke warm water.

As for Brufen, she told me every 6 hours interval. If use panadol, no use, then use Brufen. That is panadol at 12noon, brufem at 3 pm (if high temperature above 38.5) and then panadol at 6 pm.

I bought CO for china jab. PD said weather not good, hazy, alot of babies sick. Mummies, take care of babies.

She prescribed a vitamins for CO, cos i starting her in childcare in china, so need to boost her immunity.

Yes, my PD says the same! Alternate 3hrly between Brufen and panadol.. And shower and sponge in between..

Anna is taking Delrosa and Cod Liver Oil.. And she takes lots of fruits..

Last time i went kk, that's what the doc said. Alternate 4hr betw brufen and panadol. Didn't check with pd after that. If brufen is 6hours then ok, sometimes i wait too 4hours then give which temp climb higher.
 
HJ, i also read shin's blog. I learnt not to take things for granted, especially health. Then again, i am nursing a cold now without seeing a DR. I want to fight my infection naturally. Very contradicting.

actually the PD at KKH told me before if fever's around 38 and the fever didn't come down after give panadol for an hr, can proceed to give brufen. Don't need to stick to 3-4 hrs interval for the 2 different medications.
 
Also, i checked with PD, when to bring the kid to see PD or hospital, she said, if fever dont come down after 5 days, or when cough persists more than a week. In all, we also need to see the condition of the child, whether still active. If not active, better bring see Dr. immediately.

I'm fine with any timing. Think got different nap times so it'll be difficult to accomodate all kids' sleeping time. Or see what's the majority nap time lor. Mine's usually from 12pm - 2pm

yday went to visit the potential babysitter. The moment i see her i shake my head...cos she looks like those ah lian type who smokes. Also quite blur cos she left her hp in her pocket yet couldnt find it. She still need to take care of 1yr old gal till mid march so end up she recommended her sis instead. I think i was lucky cos her sis stays just 5mins away fr me. Overall we find her sis beta and will consider her. Agent want us to give ans by this weekend.
