starfruit: u were asking about somen? i let seth try liao! he loves it.
http://www.hakubaku.com/content/view/53/76/ it contains whole wheat, salt and water. salt 2%. mine is organic. and yes, tastes like mee sua!! very yummy! easy to cook too! first time i cooked, i jus add into soup stock with minced meat, carrots and spinach. abit giam in my opinion. 2% is still rather salty to me, thou hb says it's ok leh.. n hb is the yim chim (super particular abt bb food) one. but seth loved it n slurped it all in! second time i cooked the noodles and rinsed thru liao before adding my pureed food cubes, like pasta. super bland! he din finish it. third try i used hot water to rinse the somen first (they soften in the water without boiling), then faster pour away the water, and add to the soup with mince again. this time round jus right! hee... so i suggest, rinse abit first instead of boil, cos i find it removes all the taste... will let him try soba next, it has buckwheat, and according to the web, it's very high in protein!

re: oats!
for mummies who have problem with porridge, may consider this. i tried organic baby oats (star: same brand as the barley u've got!) on seth. add to fm, they are soft and 'grainy'(it's not grains, but dunno how to describe liao! chewable la!) not watery... apparently, seth likes it! i added salmon n vegies and he ate happily! the milk oso helps to conceal fishy taste too!
