hopefully u feel beta tmr. even gg down to the market to take a breather will make u feel beta. i even went to work for half day, was so much beta after that.. for now, jus pop 2 panadols, lay down and rest. cannot sleep, nvr mind. jus lay down on the sofa and surf TV channels.. or yak here..

pax, oh.. anthea had IV tube inserted into her arms for several times liao... first time was when she was sedated for the first MCU scan when she just turned 1 mths old... so heartpaint to see her tiny hand bandaged with the plug then... i am sure u know wat u mean...

the more i know abt u and wat u have gone thru, the more i feel like slapping myself for making that insensitive remarks that time... still hvnt got over it myself..

birth defect. instead of ear canal, he got bone. but lucky is his middle ear and inner ear are there, that's why he still can hear 50% in his left ear. specialist said either to drill to create an ear canal (which we r not vv keen so young), or to have an external hearing aid.

no worries to ask, i'm ok to explain things.

yvonne, that time i went gold coast, we rented an apartment that has a full kitchen, so cooking is available. if u r bringing bel along, maybe u can explore this option then u wont hv to worry abt bel's food. supermkt is easily accessible too.

will the drilling cost a lot? matthew is so far ok rite, did u try to speak to him louder? sorry to hear that, but he's really ok when we met him, looks like he doesnt need external hearing aid at all.

aiyo. i already forgot those remarks liao. it's ok. i u/stand wat u went thru. i was jus trying to boost up ur spirits (and astro as well). for 1st time mommies, anythg and everythg also anxious one. no worries abt those remarks. ok? try to take a +ve outlook of things, rather than the -ve. our kids need us to be there.. being -ve won't help them, so stay +ve and be happy. not for ourselves, but for our kids.

that's why no matter how unhappy i am with work, with hubby, i try vv hard not to show to my kids...

ya, agree with edde. it's more fun to stay in a self-contained apt with full kitchen facilities. we always stay for all our Oz trips, bcos it gives us an option to make bkf or dinner. for my Perth trip with M (and another family with a toddler gal), we stayed in apt with kitchens, so every morning we could prepare the porridge. plenty of supermarts ard, so getting fresh produce is not a problem.

i can't rmbr how much the drilling cost, but we told specialist PD that we r not gg for that option. M can decide to do it when he's older, but not now. too traumatic liao. we din deliberately talk to him loudly. he can hear us, bcos his right ear is 100% perfect (thank God for that!) for now, small group conversation / teaching is ok. PD's worry is when he goes to pri sch, in bigger classrooms, he may have a problem. so likely to get hearing aid abt 5-6yo b4 he starts pri sch.

so the surgery may be painful..hmm..if not it may be better to do it earlier, so he wont need the aid. im sure u have the best plan for him

do u find it easier to feed outside? some kids need to be distracted for food to be put into their mouths. i have heard before. dun worry abt indigestion, not jumping up and down or running ard. my Jo too tam giak liao... loves her food too much, that's why fat and short! WAHAHAHAHA...

feeding kids not easy, k? got to be a little patient. difficult to expect them to finish in 15min lah. even Jo tam giak, can take up to 30min.. i think if u persist in front of the TV, she may take 1 mini bowl of porridge... i was wondering, maybe she dun like porridge or carbo? she loves sweet food right? maybe u try using pumpkin soup to cook her porridge. vv nice leh..
 
qq, I was also quite impatient in the beginning and always thought Kira don want to eat liao. Then lately, I feed her first on the chair, after 10min or so, she's fed up, I release her and continue feeding her while she walks round the coffee table, every round, one spoon...heehee! The she can also manage a mini bowl. But I find 180ml of milk quite a lot in addition to solid food. Perhaps, Tien has a bigger appetite. Kira's tummy is like same size as a mouse;-) She can only drink 100ml in one go, otherwise, she'll puke out! That's why she's only 8.4kg at 74cm. very miao tiao...

no height change means she put on more fats and muscles which is good! So nice;-)

really ah, your bb also like ta ta ta...Kira sometimes also combines with ah ta ah ta...tata! And then she screams...ah ta...ahhhhh, tata, ahhhhhh! can go deaf one, aiyoyo!
 
Yvonne: Don't go to too many cities in Australia at one go cos it is a big country and travelling around the cities, u'll have to take domestic flights. Nothing wrong with that just it's troublesome. And for 5-7 days, just target 2 cities, else it becomes too tiring. Are u going on free and easy or you plan to join tour? Very easy to go on your own in Australia..

Australia is a baby friendly place to go. Perth is actually a v "boring" place. Shops close early and there isn't much activities to do. It has many farm-stay and interesting for young children. (But Bel may be too young to understand and interact with the farm animals so this can save til she's older).

There are farm-stays along the Great Ocean Road at Melbourn as well. If you're going with just hubby, can go melbourn and gold coast. At melbourn, rent a car for a few days to go to the Great Ocean Road.

My personal favourite is actually Adelaide.

Wanted to sahre that yesterday at Borders I also got some wrapping papers to wrap the christmas presents!! Hahaha! THey go by the size of the books, so gave me many pieces. I think I can use them to wrap all the christmas pressies this year liao..

Feeding baby:
I get very impatient, when come to feeding constance, as she is a fussy eater and most of the time refuse to open mouth for me. Sometime so fustrated until I feel like biting her hahaha...think I just have to cool down and close both my eyes, if she refuse to eat, nothing I can do. Must learn from you all...Mine also getting more and more miao tiao liao...8.3kg and 73cm.

pax, i tried pumpkin soup, she like. She also east pumpkin porridge, i dare not give too frequent cause yellow yellow. I tried to separate my sifh+ vege & then plain porridge. she likes (maybe got tv bah), so far ok...
she super grouchy mid night.. noisy after 4.,40am this morning.. (sleepy but maybe too hyper). sigh!
so about 400-450ml milk a day ok ah?? plain water intake is about 150ml only leh.

yvonne, after one night then u turned your mood to HAPPY and dunno where to go? haha! go australia la. next time then go hk shopping with bel. this time bel; still young, let mil handle her for a few days, then u enjoy. your hb super nice.. actually my hb asked me to go tour with him, but i always turn him down.. many times. sigh!! I'm not romantic.

and forgot to tellu all why I was so busy? i was busy sorting CLOTHES for tian.
brand new clothes..

7 years ago, my dad had a customer who was really bankrupted and he owed us lots of $$. then the only thing he had was the supermarket.. so my dad swept the whole section of children clothes back that worth only a portion of the debt. bo bian better than nothing. then all my aunties, cousins came to get the clothes. my mum saw liao damn heart pain, she secretly kept some clothes for her future grandchildren. So, tian is the 1st grandchild. Though many nice one already taken, now left some also not so bad one la (boleh tahan). those brands like pureen, anakku, disney.. not bad sia!!
i sorted until 12 midnight last night, this morning still sorting. haha!!! can wear for another 2 more years. but mostly small size leh.. sigh! too bad.

My boy also dun really like to eat porridge. Keep his mouth close, i have to trick him to open his mouth. Last time even more jialet will split out the porridge.
