alamak! not next time put 150d la... 150 d is to cook ur uncooked cupcakes just now. next time u can try 170 for a longer time. another trick is to preheat to 200d then when put in the cups, decrease the temp to 160d. then the stop will pong nicely.

cooked for an hour? maybe ur cake tray not the size stated as the recipe wan... so eg, if u used a smaller tray, u gotta bake longer cos ur batter will be deeper. then if u bake longer, u gotta lower ur temp so the top wun burn... or 3/4 way through baking, u gotta use foil to cover the top so it doesn't burn while the bottom continues to bake.

My hubby n his family r all Aust citizens.. But my hubby was born in Malaysia.. My fil was working in Christmas Island then.. Then Aust gave them a choice to bring their whole family over.. My hubby completed his primary edu in Malaysia, sec edu in Christmas Island n dunno from which level in Perth..

u prob dunno what u are in a heaven now cause dave is practical. imagine if u have a hb who is not practical, anyhow buy this and that, then u wont have the luxury to be NOT SO practical le. u will need to help him pressing the brakes on and off, very sian one. haha!!
but i think he wont want to change his wife la. haha!

yvonne, i also feel that u need to PREHEAT your oven more. it is uncooked probably of uneven heat in oven? and which rack (if there are a few levels) did u use? must try to turn on both up and down fire.
i seldom bake now, but i think each oven temp is diff u need to play around with the temp.

wahaha, talking abt the bowling game! Ws was showing off to me that he can strike 10x in a row!!! dunno how true. then K also knows how to play this game. maybe in a year or 2 when she wont grumble the ball is heavy, mgt brg her go n play, since ws n I do like to play bowling.

u hv to trial and error the temp u bake ur muffin. if small oven, then lower temp. 160 is abt right. if the top starts to brown too fast, turn off the top heat. try w muffins 1st. once u master muffin, then try cupcake, bcos the texture for cupcake is vv different. well done on 1st try!

pax: these two days. i been waking up at 7am.. and pumped then rushed out of house.. by 730am. with miser carrying a wailing teng down to the catch a cab with me! :S.. haiz.. then rush send /drag teng to laearning vision. when he has his breakfast at 830! .. haiz. i dunno how to make this arrangement better given my class starts at 830 and it's cannot be late kind!
then whole day rush rush rush.. dead tired.. pumping v irregularly also. oh well.. yh reaching six months soon. i dun have to try too hard now liao lah.. i think?

u'll be able to find the energy. i also came through.. dun worry.. i think the biggest worry is dinner... u may wan to consider askg nanny to help prepare big X's dinner, so that big X no need to eat out too often. i hv also done it the difficult way when my parents go holiday. wake up early to cook, put everything into thermal cooker.
the last resort is to c if u can nego for a part-time or work-fr-home arrangement.. this way u can go hm earlier to cook dinner n work after the kids zzz..
nt ez, but mothers hv the strength and will-power to pull it thru. u can do it!

yah, my worry is also dinner!! anyway, my nanny cannot look after whole day, i hv to look for another nanny!!! i seek help fr another mummy liao, hope this arrangement is fine.

i also dun want elder X to eat out so often.. sigh! planning to cook in the morning also... btw, any i pot recipe to share?? i need lotsa of them man!!!

my 2 "saving" soups that I cook when I'm rushing for time are chicken soup with pumpkin - chicken thigh/drumstick, pumpkin, onion & quail eggs or eggs & vege fish soup - carrot, corn, potato, garlic, ginger & fish. I'll just buy white rice on my way back and it's a all in one meal for them. :p

for elder X, easiest is soup and rice... for u n hubby, just tabao extra dishes... hope the new arrangement work out. it'll be gd if ur new nanny can agree to cooking dinner for elder X. easier for u. best if elder X can take sch bus to nanny..

can make stock to keep for the week in the freezer or fridge. u can cook a quick meal w fishball n vege or fish slices n vege or egg w chicken slices n vege.. if u hv those computer/ timer type of rice cooker, u can program to cook rice in the evening, jus in time for u to go home to warm rice and soup!
btw invest in a good thermal cooker. those laoya type cannot keep warm for long..

ya loh, i'm lucky to have tis nanny. Help me take care of both my kids even when my kid sick she do better job than me. But my colig said i dun cook n feed that's why my kids so thin. However my nanny v nice liao, everyday cook soup for them. I think my kids thin bcos of gene bah.

joelle, oh.. hm.. i nvr realised it cld be the baking dish i use! and i use convection oven to bake. i find conv oven not very gd for baking.. like buay zun de.. or maybe simply i am lousy lah :p

yvonne, i hv a whole awfully chocolate cake sitting in my fridge now! wahahhahahha! *give up on baking chocolate cake*

i always think your apple chicken soup is sooo easy to make. just throw apple, carrots and chicken into water, boil and boil.
