Autum: ya i bought it at the last taka fair.. $79 (includes a Leapfrog Letter Factory DVD(thsi DVD quite interesting, they explain all the alphabets in a cartoon) and the carry case). I like it, but must be careful cos the pages quite fragile, like book, baby at the current age will tear them off..so u must do it with baby. Rae loves the Dr Seuss - Mr Brown can Moo story, she always laugh when we read that story together.
I got her the Pink one.
 


Star: Not me.. Now that you reminded me.. I saw it there. But the free gift they give is the Leapfrog dvd, which I already have. Actually that time I have absolutely no clue for what age it's meant to be for..

Autum: Yes, it's cheaper. But I'm not sure how much it'll be after the shipping cost leh.. And hor, there's quite a good promo on toysrus now. Buy $75 of LF products and get $20 off. And on top of that, pay using paypal and get another 20% off..

pax: sian. in a way. i mess up teng again. he was actually very much on track for all his development untill he got smart.. enough to manipulate me.. in this puling up to stand, sitting up.. other than that.. his progress quite on track. dr ong also said that he big size.. so slower. think this time.. a battle of will between teng and me liao.. and i MUST win this.. *sigh* ehh.. maybe i should run away.. like a typical piscean.. and let cool and collected virgo do the job.. just like last time?????

i got the little Touch leap pad, but it's M playing with it.. haven't tried with Jo. M also loves the letter factory DVD, btw it's meant for at least 2 yo...
 
hmm.. can anyone tell me. what's so good abt this leappad materials?? i saw it at metro that time.. but no time to analyse it.. and see how good it is.. using educational theroies lah. was more engrossed abt that sit to stand giraffe..

let me tell u something even more ridiculous.. u know the hospi i went to.. after I did the termination.. the next morning.. there was this Patient Services Officer (front desk person) and a higher-rank nurse I think.. or maybe nursing director.. ok anyway, these 2 persons are supposed to walk around the wards each day to talk to new patients.. sort of like customer service. You know what happened.. this goondu lady (the patient service one)... when she walked into my room.. the first thing she said was "congratulations!"... I tell u.. me and hubby just look at each other and was speechless. cause this clueless person, just assumed that because I was in a maternity ward, I must have just given birth and is congratulating me! Th Nurse director.. she smiled and asked me if everything is alright.. etc.. so I just smiled weakly and said ok.. then the 2 of them walk out.. but before walking out.. the Nurse director, glanced at my patient info sheet.. and I think she kind of realised something. but it didn't fully register in her mind..

then after a while, she came back into my room to ask me if I am ok.. BUT there was NO apology of any kind.. so I am not sure is it because she felt awkward or she didn't realise that the other person had congratulated me.. I didn't even have the energy to feel angry or scold them.. when I told my friends what happened.. they were so pissed off! They said I should have made a formal complaint.. I told them if I did that, then the Patient Service Officer may lose her job.. so live-and-let-live.. cos I know she don't mean anything bad.. just that she not careful and is insentive.
 
Pax: How old is M? There's My First Leappad for 3-5 yrs old.. Recommended age for LittleTouch is 6mths to 36mths..

Michelle: Can I ask why u are so sure? Does this include shipping? Toys in the US are so cheap! But of course the shipping can kill.
 
Baby Girl: yes yes, 1st book is included - Brown Bear in the Bedroom.. no cartridge for this first book cos the story is already programmed into the system. If u wanna change and try a new story, just insert the cartridge for the new story. Like ur link, u get the 2 extra activity card as pictured (minus the cartridge)


Michelel: Pages are like book, can be easily torn if baby is violent..heheh. I dun dare to give it to Rae to hold and fiddle with it, sure will tear the pages one.

$79 sounds like a good buy.. the US price is cheap.. but I think add postage etc plus waiting time.. sianz.. sometimes it still feels very nice to go and buy from a shopping mall! Hmm, this leapfrog thing sounds complicated leh.. I think I must go explore further.

and i thought he slow.. looks like i am the slow one.. this boy is crafty.. got to beware of his tricks whenhe grow up. u agree?

he has a moon in gemini.. very quick.. very fast and clever sign.. and all along i was wondering how come he still so slow.. so i am slower. got deceived by gemini still didn't realise..

actualli think 2 mths back, 1 of the april mummy bought and she asked whether I want to add on to her order.
i din coz my sis passing me my nephew's waiting for Feb when my cousing is back from Paris.
but on sat i was so tempted to get, emailed my sis again, whether I shld get since so cheapr coz of the Thanksgiving.
she was the 1 who told me that its $24, if u want I can chk with her the exact shipping she paid.
my collg is in the US for 2 weeks, so at first I was thinking order online then deliver to my office, ask her to brg back. so no need shipping cost lah.

Speaking of food...

Pax, Astro: Can I ask how to give more tetured food to baby huh? Does it mean the porridge don't have to cook so long and the meat and vege not so finely cut and grinded?

Baby Girl: Get this gift set, i think its better. The only diff is that it come bundled with this extra story book (titled Rainbow Fish) So cute got finger puppet for u to interact while telling bb the story. I dun think i have seen this Rainbow fish Story Book selling in SG leh..maybe must hunt. So u get the original storybook - 1 bear in teh bedroom in the system and this additional book than u can change. understand?

Baby Girl: Any idea what are the titles for these tear free books? i should go look for them.

i bought 3 new ones over from the WTS sell.. $50 for 3 new books.

for fish and meat, not need to puree. meat i jus mince fine. fish i jus add small pieces, then mash to feed with porridge. u can also steam the fish and give separately. this way, Anna will get a taste of the fish on its own.
for vege, i'll cut to small pieces and add to porridge to cook together. carrots, potatoes, cauliflower. for broccoli, i chopped up the stem and add to porridge. the "flower" i add later. u can also steam with fish.
 
Michelle: Pls check for me.. I'm thinking if I shd just order myself instead of joining the spree.. I have a vpost account. Used that to order my breastpump and gymboree stuff from the US.. And to get the $20 off, Shd order both littletouch and leappad together.. Hahaha..

teng really is fast in terms of cognitve and social side .. he has done so many of that.. and now i am convinced.. he not slow in motor huh? he L A Z Y (dr ong spelt this out so many times. i wanted to tell her.. just say the word. i can take it. buay tahan her.. she has a sense of humour . i must say :p)

Baby Girl: Think this is more a audio story book.. not super interactive cos its still static pages, its more on the audio part. I think BB our age might get a bit bored if they spend too much time on it cos no moving images lah, but lots of sound, music and interesting noises only. And moreover BB our current age dun really know how to touch and interact on these pads just yet, need our guidance. So if ur bb gets bored easily, this might not be that great a product to get them.
I use it during our story time together with Rae, we will doa book then proceed on to do more physical activity. trust me, they attention span, cannot really tahan thru the whole book.

u cook fresh each time for your kids right? do u cook and freeze and then use like the cube purees we make?

Pax: I've never purreed any of her food leh.. I grind. Everything including minced pork we steam separately, and then grind before adding to the porridge.. Is grinding less fine than puree? Think so right?

Ok.. Will give her fish on it's own for taste..
 
pax: where to buy the corn thins and rice crackers.. the cron thin soudns delicious. hey bb our age can eat wheat right?? or must wait till 1yr old??

yes, weekends i cook all Jo's meals.. for M, depends on whether we r gg out or staying in.. i dun freeze... oh, only apple puree for her bkf cereal at my mom's place.. my mom also cook fresh for both kids. M is easier now, bcos he eats what we eat...
 
bbgirl: imho. can stop griding liao.. let anna try with texture.. puree less finely first. then can progree to what pax suggest.. like that transit maybe easier for anna.. coz if not. think slightly difficult for her. like the cheerios.

Michell: the only tear proof pages i have is the activity pages.. that one plastic kind. thats all. The stories are still normal book pages.. fragile!

grind is def less fine than puree.. dun mix with porridge and feed separate? u try? u can add less water to porridge to make it drier and lumpier.. u can also try alphabet pasta...
 


Autum: The munchkin grinder.. My maid prepares her meals.. So far she's never complained the grinder doesn't work so I bever bought a blender.. Only thing is.. There was once she said the guava is too hard to grind.. Hahaha...
