mommies... i m back... just finished eating my supper... feel like crying already... don noe how to handle...

bel vomited striaght away after her last milk feed... she nv finish her milk... den i quickly pull a plastic bag and catch her vomit... after she finish, i put the bag aside... den i put her down on the bed... she vomit again... den i carry her up, quickly go to the dusbin in my room.. didn manage to aim into the dustbin, so end up on the floor... den i run to toilet... she vomit in the toilet... so both of us bath... after bath i go back to the room and put her down, she vomit again... den i run to kitchen basin... no vomit... when i walked away, she vomit on the floor... den no choice, we go KK immediately...reach downstair while waiting for nick to drive over... before getting into the car, she vomit again... in the car also vomit... reach KK while waiting for Q also vomit... den i nv wait, i just dash into the counter and shout at the nurse to see mi first... cannot wait liao... after tt bel still crying badly... but nv vomit liao... cos there is nth in her stomach anymore... her lips are dry and purple... don dare to feed water... worried she vomit.. so play with her... give her brouchure, packet drinks, her health booklet... den she laugh... den give water... but after tt vomit the water out... ai ya...terrible...

dr said is due to a substance in the med tt cause her to throw everything out... the med is suppose to help her to throw the phlegm out... but is not this way... cos it make her feel uncomfortable... so she gave another med tt wont feel so uncomfortable... but naturally throwing the phlegm out... or dissolve the phlegm... also gave the suppository for high fever... and change all the med...

u are right... is the med tt makes her vomit like mad... didn see her vomit like this before...

after everything.. mi and nick feel so stupid going to KK... cos is just veri little thing... not those super emergency thing...

sounds bad for bel...aiyo, u dun think of it this way...u and nick not stupid lah. who will expect this leh...better to go and check out than guess and bel keep vomitting...

hope bel will feel better soon..u take care of yaself too hor...must be a tiring day for all of u...

I had the M maid for only 3 days. She was not interested in the children at all and it was soo obvious dat i din want to waste anybodys time.

Communication wise, I prep myself before her arrival. I made a list of words, instructions and got the agent to translate for me. One thing to NOTE is unlike bahasa indonesia, burmese character is like chinese, arabic characters, so the translation goes from the character(which the maid reconises) to a pingyin (which helps us to pronounce the word) to a english word.

Its not easy coz if u do not pronounce the word correctly, the maid fails to understand. So i had the list pin on the fridge and pointed to wadever i wanted to say. The maid understands by looking at the burmese character. (So ur list must be COMPREHENSIVE)

The funny thing is if u ask these M maid to read english off a magazine or phamplet, they actually can do it. But unfortunately. Most of the time, they do not understand what they are reading.

Well, not gd for me for the past daz. Poor appetite at dinnertime. Hate to eat at inlaw's hse nowadays. Preferred to have sandwich instead. Bfast and lunch still ok...only dinner time is the worse.

she nv cought from last nite when we reach home... hopefully she clear all the phlegm... but den she is super drowsy from all the vomitting and fever med... till now she is still sleeping... she will make some sound when she saw mi coming into the room with her milk... but she got no energy to move... so i carried her to feed... she is like those infant now... whole body machiam veri fragile like tt... no reject no fuss... so sad...

she is now taking the normal chlorpheniramine and ventolin and paracetamol... veri mild.. but given a acetylcysteine to force the phlegm out... i hope it dissolve la... don make her vomit again... cos this one also will make her vomit... but not as uncomfortable as the one she took before...

Since she not moving, remove her pampers and air her bum lar. And WATER PARADE to flush out the medication.

U only got 1 thermometer?? Go get another and try again. Bel might be flushed not fever.

no need to chop into half. just insert can liao. cos the sup has a wax coating, so it's very smooth. u can also put the sup medicine in the fridge.. then when u take out, it's cold. u lay Bel to lie on her side.. then put her legs to like a cycling a position..while she is lying on the side.. then u push in slowly.

Bel may use her anus muscle to push out the sup cos she may feel scared or uncomfy.. u just distract her attention.. like maybe sing/talk to her.. or let her hold her toy.. if she ok, dun struggle, she won't push out the sup with her anus muscle..

the suppository you got from dr might be Voren. Cut into half cos the dosage too high if use full. Just push in abit, then cannot see it liao. It's like soap, very easy get into.

nick is a night owl.. he nv slp for the whole last nite to monitor her temp... so i take charge in the morning... this morning 6am he still ask mi if wan to bring us out for a short walk later... lol... i told him bel like tt still can go out meh? but den, bel is active in the day... so we feel is ok... onli at nite, she abit heywire...

ok... dr gave diclofenac... don noe itzzit same as voren... is veri long lei... almost like adult kind... but slimmer... yes, she said the dosage too high if use full... so must chop... itzzit veri hard to chop? will break into pieces anot... till now i still don have to use first... she gave 3 to stand by...

yvonne, just b careful cos its a kind of painkillers. Dun take too much lor.

For me, im allergic to both panadol and diclofenac. So if fever, i can only take cold shower to lower the temp.

my HB was from Radin Mas Pri. But thought the school closed down liao? He mentioned that it used to be one of the few good ones around that vicinity.

I also think communication is a big problem. If can't communicate, even she's very good also no use. Like my maid, she still has her phil accent when she speaks. I'm used to that liao cos I face her more. Then when it comes to my HB giving instructions, she'll always get it wrong or they don't understand what each other are talking about. So now I'll always be the messenger between them.

Think Enne's godma runs a maid agency for phil maids, right? Maybe you can check with her. I've got another friend who got her phil maid thru a-one-man-show agency. This owner goes to philipines to source and interviews the maids. She told her that she has to get the good ones and train them well cos if rejected, she won't have places to send them to cos she's only running a very small setup. So far, 3 of my colleagues had got their phil maids thru her, so far so good. I can get the contact from you if you want.

I tink the supp is soft, soft waxy material, so it will be ez to cut when its at room temp. Cut liaoz den chill back so dat it is ez for insertion.

Is bel allergic to panadol?? If not, the supp should be ok. It is panadol aso.

Cos supp goes inside the body faster then med thru mouth. Hence if temp goes too high, use supp faster to push temp down.
If it's similar to panadol, then must 4 hours gap between panadol. If Voren is diff from panadol can give even if just given panadol.
 
Yvonne - I dun feel that you and nick are stupid to bring bel to KK. We will do the same too...perhaps rush into the doc rm then to the nurse counter. Who will not be worried leh? I read the post also "xin tong." Hope that bel is on her way to recovery as I post my message.

Autum - I think it all depends on luck to get a good maid..actually good is hard to define also. Keke...few days back, as some of the mummies were posting the bad & good points about their maid...it strucks me that the maid have pretty similiar issues. Hee...but me had to think so hard why I should keep mine, cos Dylan doesnt like her...cant justify ;P

Linda - I took your advice...doing nothing but sleep in peace at hme yesterday...drink coffee, read paper, watch TV....wow...today, I feel so much better and refreshed. Yes, you are right...it makes a much more better mum!

Never renewed. Maid all earn enuff to set up biz. :p

For maid WP renewal, need to adjust maid salary (coz exp and none exp are diff rate) unless ur maid so good as to accept the same salary.

1. U need to buy her tix for homeleave. Using the date on return airtix, submit date and tix for MOM verification.
2. If she dun wanna go home, can renew immediately.
3. Buy all the neccessary insurance, bond for renewal. Obtain the serial no. of all the documentations.
4. Fill up the renewal form (Auto will send from MOM) or do it online (I do for FW but DFW aso can)
5. MUST return the existing WP card. MOM will issue new one.
6. Once approved, need to go for medical checkup.

Eh... this is the sequence for Foreign workers. But I removed the courses dat FW need to attend liaoz, so this is modified for Domestic FW. (My agaration.)
